Last time I changed my own oil the Filter slipped out of my hand, fell into the catch pan, oil splashed in my face, as I when to get out from under the car I bumped the pan and spilled it on the driveway. Yep, that was the Last time for me!
Ohhh man! That sounds horrible! With my zip lock bag trick it works great for me. I just did an oil change over the weekend! Before the 100° hits here in texas!
paper trail or services i bought my rt brand new it got a lifter knock at 68k they refused to honor my warranty because i changed my own oil 3 times like 30k miles before i actually had an issue with the car i even had receipts for the previous 6 oil changes just a heads up check ur warranty for a service record clause ..
As the 6.4 is a multi-port injected engine, the engine cleans itself. If you had a direct injection or turbo, you should use a catch can. I bought a 2022 Charger Scat Pack and am not going to install a catch can.
The reason I ask, is to know from the experienced owners of the hemis. I've seen most of them use penzoil. Stellantis group has a partnership with Shell the makers of Penzoil. Some dealers use Penzoil as the go to engine oil for all hemi engine cars. I am guessing it has excellent lubrication properties which minimize the lifter failure issues. Many say avoid Mopar. However, Mopar has two types of engine oil Full Synthetic and a Blend. My local dealer uses a Blend, and If I change my oil myself or somewhere else, it will void my warranty. I'm guessing Mopar engine oil is a factor here, but not sure. That's why I ask. Thanks again.
MOPAR doesn't make their own oil. They private-brand someone else's. Any full synthetic 0-40W will do. I just did the first oil change on my Charger Scat and used Mobil 1.
Hi there when the time comes! I will definitely do that video but my car has less den 5K miles on it. I would do that at 30K maybe 40K. And you are correct I have not seen good videos about it. And will definitely try to do good video.
Nice job, all explained perfectly and clearly! Just out of curiosity... wouldn't the dealer have completed the first oil change [or first 2 or 3 changes] for free?
Thanks buddy! Sometimes they do! If you are negotiating you can throw it in there. But in my case I bought the car in a HOT market. And got a sweet deal on it. Paid below sticker and got 0% and they paid me more for my trade. So didn't want to push more.
I don't know why you would think that doing an oil chang at 1000 miles would void the warranty? I'm curious about your answer. Any new car after the break-in period is good to do a preventative oild change and add a magnetic drain plugg. That way, you can monitor if there is any shaving in the engine. That's why I do it!
Hello there, I need to go trough my contacts see where I send someone a clip. The thing is I sold the car. Kind of difficult to explain without. If I find the clip I'll reach out for your IG or email

I'm trying to figure out the best place to put the jack stands in the widebody there is not room on the side pinch weld due to the larger rocker panels. where the you put the 2 front jack stands ?

Look about a foot in from where the pinch welds are. You should see a little triangle on a sub frame. That's the spot you want. You can also put a stack of blocks/boards under the tires. Just be sure to block the down-slope wheel so nothing rolls.
Hey there, I am using from billet technology very nice and custom ordered. So be mindfull of that if you want to order one. A lot of colors available and think about dressing up your engine bay. They have a lot of good stuff.
You are not wrong but no right either. Could I use that yes! But I daily my car so 4884899AC i s owners manual! If you race or track your car. The SRT filter might be the one for you! Thanks for watching!
@@297modz if you're talking about the owners manual that came with the car in the glove box. The only thing that that addresses is the performance pages as far as the 6.4 in your car. That manual is useless for our scatpacks. It only talks about the 6 cylinder and 5.7 cars. That oil filter is for the 5.7. It doesn't have enough flow for the 6.4. That's why the 6.4 and 6.2 run the SRT filters is for more flow not pressure. Trust me about the manual, I'm having it out with the dealership now about this because I feel like when we give that kinda money for a car, it should have its own manual.

Awesome, bro! Go do yours! Feel good afterward!
I do the same with the zip lock bag. Don't need a filter wrench, hand tight only.
Nice idea on using a bag to catch the oil.

Nice job. Still debating catch can while under warranty. I don't trust dealerships. They'll use anything to deny a claim.
Nahh they won't! Catch actually helps. You can remove it very easily incase you don't want them to know! It won't reflect in the system!
Good point. As long as it’s easy enough to return to original before it goes in for anything.
@@willardarmbruster8111 it is very easy! One 13mm bolt. And put the OEM hoses back and that's it.

Just one question, is the Mopar oil not recommended for the Challenger? Most people I've seen uses Penzoil? Why not Mopar? Thanks
It is a specific SRT oil from penzoil. And highly recommend for 6.4 engines. Had that in both my Scatpacks zero issues!
