Israel, is a remarkable country, all those neighbouring counties wishing death and destruction, still it manages to not only thrive but outperform many western democracies. Remarkable people.
Tel Aviv reminds me of Bombay/Mumbai...especially South Bombay... the quiet neighbourhoods, a little posh but still affordable, lined with residential buildings, cafes, boutiques, salons, trees everywhere.. loved this video..took me back down my memories, even though I've never been to Israel.
Trisha Rudra But Mumbai is Shitty. The only places good are Bandra and Marine Lines. Rest of Places are filled with Slums, Pothole Roads, Poor People, Filth and yes there is big lack of Footpaths. Very unplanned and Poverty City
Tel aviv is preety exepensive most of the young people rent an apartment until the are financially stable, which most of the time is around the age if 35 in israel
Of all the places in the world to go ,Israel , is number one on my list. Actually, our goal is aimed for Jerusalem. I really have never given Tel Aviv much thought as far as visiting. After seeing this video I’m sure We would love it there as well. Thanks for opening up a new city of Israel for us.
(gets run over by a cyclist) yes indeed "electric bicycle" this is a new and very big problem here in Israel we must take care of it and right now !!!!!!!!
I think they started to give fines and put in some laws into "electric bicycle" riders in the last 3-4 months ...people got killed by them ...as every kid got them and they ride everywhere
Tel Aviv looks like a walking city. Peace of mind while strolling. When I was in Jakarta I was scared to walk even a few blocks. I walked to a mall three blocks from my hotel but coming back I took a taxi. The traffic is fierce and non-stop. As long as the red light comes on and it's time to walk the motorbikes are already making the left turn into the crosswalk. It's a drive on the left country so that adds to the tension. I did some some pedestrian overpass across the main road in front of my hotel. I think it's a mindset and the law. In Asia I think if you own a vehicle you automatically own the road.
HBC 13 hhhhhhhh i want to laugh ! What peace are you talking about , you know that this area is occupied by the Zionists And this is a war zone and this area is called Yafa - Palestine
Akki Meme muslims conquered those lands in 634ad, jews and christians had been living there for thousands of years until islam murdererd, raped and exiled the jews and Christians, now they piss their pants when jews take it back? Lol... gtfo .. there is no such thing as a Palestine
Mate, Jaffa is within the Tel Aviv municipality, but it's definitely separate from Tel Aviv. The area he's strolling around in is nowhere close to Jaffa.
I love these types of videos Mark, where you and your family go exploring the local areas. It makes your FOOD search more exciting and relatable. Thank you for sharing...
That super market is called Tiv TaAm . Its pretty much the only chain of supermarkets that is non kosher meaning the only one who sells bacon and stuff like that... and is its one of the most expensive supermarkets... most of the time its cheaper to buy produce from local vendors than it is in Tiv TaAm. But on friday nights and saturdays its the only one thats open . Great review mark! Its a pleasure to see you walk down the same streets as i do since i live in the area of Tel Aviv ! I hope you and your family will come back to visit Israel again! 🤙🤙
I've often wondered if people in Tel Aviv, and Israel generally, are on constant high alert in case of incoming rockets or mortar shells. But this video shows a pretty relaxed and confident place. I like what I see.
As an Israeli in general and Tel-Avivian in particular, I can tell you that with the 1st rocket everything's drastically changes and becomes chaotic. Israelis, though, we get back super quickly to business as usual when small times of quiet do arrive. And we maintain one of the world's heavily invested, both offensive but mainly defensive armies for keeping the quiet for as much as possible so such videos would reflect how Israel's behaving MOST of the time.
Deep inside everyone's knows the dangers, but on a daily Basis nobody shows it and since 2014, everything is basically quiet in Tel Aviv and you can enjoy life :)
Rockets usually don't come to Tel-Aviv. The north and especially the south hold the cities that feel the terror more. Tel-Avivians usually gets criticized for living in a bubble, and this can turn an accusation that can spur up to a charged political debate in Israel.
Mr. Mark I love your videos. You can travel anywhere and make the experience a really good one. You have the mark of someone well-traveled. Thank you and your family for your videos.
Next time you need an Israeli to take you to the normal supermarkets mate... you basically went to all the most expensive supermarkets :p Actually drivers in israel are really rude, only that in israel it's a law to stop for people who want to cross the street, so they did :) And yes unfortunately tel aviv is one of the most expensive cities in israel, but its not like that in every place, some citites are more reasonable :) anyway good to have you around mate, i enjoyed your channel even before u came here! :) keep up the work! And kudos to your wife for going around with you and holding the cam sometimes etc!
Hi Mark, I really enjoy your videos. I'm so happy to see you enjoying my country and city and not coming to it with expectations either good or bad. In your video, you pass so many places I am regularly (my current apt, my old apt, my old job, places where I go to meet friends for cofffee you pass them all here, whcih is fun to see a foreigners perspective). I just wanted to note two things: 1. Drivers stop here at the crossings (zebra crossings) because its the law; its illegal for them not to, and 2. the super market is actually called "tiv taam" which means kind of like "the best taste" or something liek that. "In the city" is kind of just their tagline. They're famous (and kind of controversial) in Israel for being the largest provider of pork and other imported and non-kosher foods.
Mark, if you want to save a bunch on groceries while you are in Israel I highly recommend you try to locate a Super Cofix. Everything there is 5 Shekels. Yes, only 5 shekels. They don't have everything but they have essentials. Also, I wouldn't recommend getting the meat, and chicken there but everything else is fine. Hope this helps! Enjoy Israel and all it has to offer!
like kicking over rocks to see what crawls out i knew somewhere around the comments section of this video i'd find the usual anti-Israel obsessed psychopaths.
More power mark, i was just watching some of your old videos when suddenly this video pops up. God bless you and your family. Big fan from philippines. 👍🏿
Mark Abroad every single day brother im always watching your videos even though i already watched it a multiple times im really enjoying watching your videos. Keep it up mark and more blessings to come with you and ying and mica. God bless! Road to 2 million. ☺️
omg, the idea of Israelis as courteous drivers is hilarious!! He's so sweet, he has no idea lol.. I'm Israeli and I can tell you they are insane!! Also, most Israelis shop at outdoor (farmers) markets for fruits and veg (cheap), and many other items, not grocery stores (especially not gourmet ones lol).
Fantastic video! Thank you for showing us around Tel Aviv. Looks like a really cool place to visit! You seem like such a great guy - and your baby is beautiful!! God bless you guys!

Hi mark... Indeed it was nice walking around and showing us... I love to see micah... Oww boy hes growing so fast... Love u baby .. And big hug for ying... Shes doing a great job... 😚😚😚😚
Hey there Mark, nice video. I hope you liked Tel Aviv. Just wanted to point out a few things as a Tel Avivi. First of all, it's true that Tel Aviv is a wonderful place in terms of social life and walking around. There's no dull moment while living here, therefore it's called "The City that Never Sleeps". However, I wouldn't recommend anyone living here, not even other Israelis. It's way too expensive for the quality of life you get here. Being here is great for a short vacation and nothing more. I'd recommend checking out the Kibbutzim (Kibbutz in plural) in Northern Israel as they are much friendlier, cheaper, quieter and nicer. The cyclists here are insane and it's known that people are often get run over by them. I've been in a similar accident myself. Please be careful and never walk on the roadside where there's a bicycle sign. Also, would like to warn you and others not to use the ATM machines that are not placed outside a bank or a mall, especially not those without a bank logo on them or outside a local grocery shop. They're well known to have serious security issues and for the safety of your account and credit card, avoid it if you can. The "In the City" grocery shop you entered is actually called "Tiv Taam", they just added "In the City" because it's in the center of Tel Aviv, and usually it's where the pricing is way too high. Would only recommend on Supersal, which is the biggest supermarket company in Israel, where the pricing is usually more reasonable. I have so much more to share but I believe this comment is already too long lol. So, thumbs up again for the great video, and take care! Shalom :)
I love how I'm watching this so many years later.... I know all of that area... ;) 1. Drivers here, whether bikers or driving cars or korkinets, aren't friendly much of the time and the right of way is definitely not a pedestrian way of doing things. Coming from an American point of view here. 2. Like in other cities, you don't go to a random ATM. You probably paid a lot in fees. The Bank Hapoalim (the bank you passed by) would have been a better option. As would a money changer (of which many Israeli cities have). But the best may have been a post office. It really depends. 3. That store isn't called In The City. That's the type of branch it is. More of a hypermarket. It is called Tiv Ta'am and is known as a national chain which is infamous for being open at the times you need it to be (aka, you're going to pay for that convenience) as well as selling pork. The Tel Aviv equivalents are called AM:PM and Super Yuda. Although they don't sell pork, they're open 24/7, which Tiv Ta'am is not. 4. If you ever come back, I'll be happy to show you around, including how to live affordably while on holiday here. :)
1:16 SOOO TRUEE!! Here in Palembang (Indonesia), you have a wide sidewalk, zebra cross with "the green man" (crossing lights), but you still can't walk safely, because the driver here is very crazy!! So, I prefer to use BRT, LRT, or MRT to get around the city, the safest place to walk is the old town, coz there's a alot of park, cafes and cozy place
"Zionist Colonial occupation"... yeah… I think it is extremly more ironic, that Arabs ( called Palsestinians since 1948 ) are enjoying more human rights ( women equality, religious freedom, LGBT rights ) than in any other Arabic Country.
Oh my god, looks like you stayed basically a few buildings away from me! So cool to see the neighbourhood through fresh eyes. Love how you make sure to get to know the city, writing street names, etc. in all your videos. Keep it up!
Yes, food can be somewhat expensive in Israel because their quality control is high (Kosher laws and such). You can always find good deals in large chain supermarkets or open old street markets. There are also places you can find special stores of Asian imported products in Tel-Aviv.
It is funny to watch little legs of baby bounce along as mama or daddy carry him. He is such a good baby!! Might want to hold his little feet sometimes as you walk.

I kinda felt it too in the colaba. but only there, the rest of Bombay is very different
Tel aviv is preety exepensive most of the young people rent an apartment until the are financially stable, which most of the time is around the age if 35 in israel

i had a little chuckle there.
Haha, almost!
(gets run over by a cyclist) yes indeed "electric bicycle" this is a new and very big problem here in Israel we must take care of it and right now !!!!!!!!
