What did you do with your sidearm when you opened the door ? Just curious how not to catch a DQ. The way you did it was very smooth !

The only exclusion zone (or DQ zone) was that red border around the door. If you have your hand and your gun in there at the same time, the RO will DQ you.
What I did to prevent that is to have my hand up and parallel to the floor and above the door knob. That way the RO could clearly see that my gun was no-where near the door know when my hand was there as well!

Awesome runs, Alex. Those malfunctions cost you. Were those reloads? If so, might be helpful to use a case guage to ensure none of your competition rounds are out-of-spec causing feed-issues. I use one myself to test every round.
My cousin who used to shoot Nationals told me someone he knew was short a podium finish because one of the rounds was out-of-spec causing a malfunction. Had it not been for that round, results would've been in their favor.

      Thank you!
Those were factory Syntech 150gr - the USPSA ammo.
I think the problem might be the recoil spring. It might be too light for the combination of pistol + ammo. Syntech has a very grippy coating and I’m thinking the recoil spring doesn’t have enough power to push the round up the feed ramp.
Will replace with a stronger one and try again! :)

@ThePedalorian Ah! Just as I thought. Yes, the paint on those rounds are so soft, you can print your fingernail on the projectiles. So the lighter spring is probably not pushing them up the feed ramp, as you said. Going to a heavier spring may cause other issues tho, too. I would change the ammo instead of the spring cuz your follow-up shots (and therefore, splits) are super fast. You'll get more front-end dip if you go heavier spring.
I have 2 Zev Glocks. One of which I use last yr at State. They both gave me issues and I just gave up on them. Spent a ton of money on both-what a waste!

@@yellowmanusa I need to tinker with that. This ammo shoots very flat which is great for followup shots.
I want to see how the 8lb spring feels - it might be a good compromise between the slide dipping and the rounds actually being fed properly.
I wish they had the equivalent of Syntech but with copper plating :)
