    I have a Fisker Karma. This is actually much more performance than what we have now. Very interesting. One thing I can say is that once you experience driving in electric only mode, you actually get annoyed when the motor comes on. We've got an aftermarket mod in the Karma community that will just charge the car from the engine while parked, so we never have to hear it. haha.
    I do agree, electric only is the best application for this car. I'm in the process of pulling my engine and going all electric. Its not very hard. Just requires the right expertise and tools.

    It is not technically a hybrid, it is an electric with a range extender.
    It seems an excellent GT vehicle, for people that are constantly on the move with long trips it seems pretty interesting.
    Now, a new company that must show the reliability, but this is a better interaction that the i8.
    I saw the Karma GS-6 in a showroom and this car is impressive.

    This looks like it has a lot more luxury than the Tesla. I had a Tesla Model S and didn’t like the lack of customization and luxury. So I traded it for a BMW 530e. Hybrid with muscle and BMW luxury and “ultimate driving”. I want to go test drive this new Karma. I still get carpool access with luxury and customization at or near the price of the Tesla. The best of everything.

    Fisker has 80 electric miles + 280 Gas Miles = 360 miles...
    Current Tesla is 370 Miles range for $50K less, a Ton more technology and an owner that wont run and leave you stuck with an unserviceable car. Some people will learn the hard way.

    Wow, why so much hate for hybrids in this comment section? I get that a pure EV is greener but it isn't an option for people in many regions even with an improved charging network. At least with a PHEV the rest of us have the option of driving one in pure electric mode up until winter makes an ICE necessary.

    At 12:15 into the video you can see the door chrome at the bottom of the window doesn't line up between the front door and the back door, Remember this is a $130,000 car that is supposed to compete with the Model S which has solved it's "build" issues long ago. I don't see starting out your competition with no range, lots of engine noise, not a pure EV and weird inside layout and design. Sure the outside has a couple of good lines but seriously folks that ain't gonna get you market share down the road. The Karma emblem looks like a mood ring - not good.

    They had a choice of making a city-only all-electric car or a hybrid with greater highway practicality than a Tesla. This was probably the best choice short of not going into the business at all. (You don't have to be clairvoyant to predict failure of a new car company. Tesla is the rare exception, so far at least.) Without the Tesla Supercharger network, trying to do a serious road trip in a 300 mile EV would be a nightmare. Add gasoline refueling and now you have essentially unlimited range with the ability to quickly refuel anywhere. If you do mostly city driving, seldom more than 80 miles per day, and the rest long road trips, this could be a practical choice. Maybe less true in five years as recharging options improve. But for now... it is an advantage over Tesla.

    You guys said that if the Karma Revero were all electric that you would have no hesitation recommending the car. However, if it were all electric then -- even if the battery could match the Tesla's (which is doubtful) -- then you would still have the problem that Karma lacks any charging network. This is a major problem with all other electric car competitors. Nobody has a network that holds a candle to Tesla's worldwide network, which I use all of the time with my Model 3 (since I live in NYC without the ability to recharge at home). It's vast and reliable and essential for those who wish to use their car every day or live in places where we cannot install a fast charger in our own garage. Just last weekend I had no problem driving 600 miles quickly because of that network. If any electric car lacks the ability to quickly recharge around the country, that is a major deficiency compared to Tesla. By the time Revero offers an all-electric car, Tesla is going to be further ahead in every way. Also, Karma had its chance to compete with Tesla years ago and blew it when it went bankrupt. I see ads all the time about its great new offerings (that rarely materialize) but I do not trust or believe the company after its major debacle in 2012. They need to change the company name for those of us who recall.

    Tesla really needs to up their game, if they want to compete in the luxury segment. Only reason why they are still ahead is because of the range and Supercharger availability.

    Just look at that misaligned chrome trim of the rear door at 12:16. I wonder if they have sorted out the huge misaligned panels at rear boot and fenders as well. No wonder they are close to bankruptcy.

    IT'S A BEAUTIFUL CAR, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE REFRESH BUT IT'S NOT COMPETITION FOR TESLA. THEY COULD LEARN FROM KARMA AS FAR AS PAINT AND INTERIOR APPOINTMENT. FOR $100K PEOPLE WANT MORE THAN FIVE UNIMAGINATIVE PAINT CHOICES AND FEW INTERIOR OPTIONS. NOT EVERYONE IS WILLING TO SETTLE FOR WHATEVER TESLA DECIDES THEY SHOULD HAVE.

    I don't think the Revero is comparable to the Tesla as it has a 3 cylinder eng and Tesla all electric... if you are going to compare I think you should go with the Posche Panamera 4-hybrid which is hybrid with eng and both Revero and Panamera are 500+ HP and both have range extender concepts.

    Fisker has always made beautiful cars. I'm just not a fan of the powerplant. They *look* like they would be fast cars, but they are NOT fast cars.

    They really seem to have really improved all the flaws Fiskers was plauged with.
    Much nicer version of the Karma. Impressed they got 80 miles out of the packaging/weight issue.
    I like the revised exterior features.

    Fisker has always had nice designs (Karma and BMW Z8), their shortcomings are in powertrains. The last hybrid, the Karma, used A123 batteries. These were the cells that would spontaneously catch on fire when sitting parked. There were some spectacular events associated with that, enough to bankrupt A123.
    If the new Rivero was electric, it could be truly interesting. Then again, maybe they too don't have the powertrain to compete yet with Tesla. For now though, the Rivero will appeal to those just looking for something "different & unique".

    Still a handsome big GT sports sedan on the outside ... rather a muddle of ideas in the cabin ... and still "burn stuff" complexity and cost ... that's a bizarre club foot decision stuck in 2010 ... I could agree to a range-extender, especially in an SUV with 10K towing or even 7700lb towing ... basically just a carry-on APU (auxiliary power unit) but an "engine" with transmission ... who the hell wants all that stuff?
    I agree if Karma makes this as an EV (now) it could win some "dammit, I can't get a Taycan" buyers. In two years time, the Taycan will be sitting in Porsche dealers and Audi will have something, Mercedes and BMW won't be too far from market by 2021 ... seem like they have a swing and a miss with the Revero simply because it's not a BEV.
    I know from first-hand experience, friends who've taken a pass on the S or X and gone with a Range Rover or Porsche have said they came away from the Tesla experience asking how the "high tech" car was so basic and spartan.

    WOW, before my Tesla’s I had a Fisker. Beautiful car! But E range too low. And when the engine 2.2 Turbo kicks in I hated the noise

    Diesel Generator would have been better, with diesel you can drive 4X that of Gasoline on Same Capacity.

      Cool thought... I wonder if type of Emissions was the reason to go gas... Good running gas engine has CO2 and H2O as it's exhaust...somewhat cleaner I think... Diesel I guess would have soot on a poor running engine .

    Lack of cargo space is a killer for using this as a practical touring car. Lack of folding rear seats and the central bar running the length of the cabin really minimize the utility of the car as well. In my opinion, while it looks great, it's pretty much a 4-door Corvette. High marks for looks and performance but fails in the utility and practicality department.

    After your piece on the promised "interior enhancements" EM mentioned for Performance S & X, we've probably all noted that there are 5 interior color/trim variants available now. Another reviewer said the Performance also seems to finally have ventilated seats. Is that right? This aside, yes, T needs to give a little attention to "owner joy", now that they've been around for a while. You have to give owners some fun in the buying process. Introduce a new color now and then, drop an old one. Create a "sport" fascia and steering wheel, or, now that the 3 has been around a while, a new color wood trim. "Correct" some of the "shortcomings" that even owners have noted, like lack of door bins on the S, or the shiny black console doors on the 3. Easily done.

    It is a nice car that's always been different and cool to see, glad to see newer ones and I still see a few Fisker Karmas on the streets every now and then , that said not sure why it can't be full electric (or have a full electric version and the plug in hybrid) , not for me, butvi hope they are successful as we need as many electric vehicle options as they can make. If I was " crazy rich" I would still want a fleet of Teslas.

    Someone might want to inform Fisker that 80 miles was the range on the 1909 Baker Electric. 110 years... ZERO progress.

      You can't inform Fisker since Fisker has nothing to do with Karma anymore. A Chinese company bought the rights to Karma years ago. Fisker has a new company now and is supposedly coming out with a new all electric vehicle in 2020/21.

      @@shaunmwoolley Totally agree with you. But there still has been some progress. Better batteries than what the Baker had, better reliability, much more in-car tech, and about 370 miles of range in a new Tesla Model S. That's a lot more driving range than the gas powered Alfa Romeo Giulia and a better car than the Karma. Of course, I would like to buy an electric minivan with at least 400 miles of range in the winter, but technology is still getting better.

      Stryford The 80 miles of the Baker is only at 20-25 mph. Today the BEVs that get 80 miles of range can do it at 60 mph. I personally feel that it isn’t progress because of it being over 100 years. Technically, yes of course it is improved when looking at ranges of the Teslas with 370 miles of range at 60 mph. Me being extremely picky, I still think of what we could have accomplished and had today if the electric car was embraced in the early 1900’s as opposed to the internal combustion engine. How crazy would the world be? Battery tech would have been more advanced than computer tech or possibly could have accelerated the tech industry. Hope that made sense, I started rambling with all these thoughts.

    The drive train layout is just dumb. This will never compete with Tesla in 0 to 60, but it could have competed in weight. They should make a the front engine optional and interchangeable with a battery bank at home. Remove it for the track, add batteries for extra range. Rear seats should also be removable in favor of extra batteries.

      I noticed that as well/ Guess we could give it some 'slack' since it is likely a pre production or early production car. I have always really liked the exterior design of this 'Fisker' vehicle, but my concern is that it will appeal only to an already small segment of buyers. If it eventually is made into a 100% EV then I think it has a better chance of success. I feel the space in the back seat could be made more spacious by removing the centre console...I'd certainly become claustrophobic before very long as it is.

    Love the vid guys. The Karma Revero GT tour was just in Las Vegas and a friend and I were able to drive it. While a major improvement with the BMW tech, it no longer competes with the Model S. People need options.

    I dont think we should be expecting Tesla to follow the steps some of these brands. If not for anything at all we should realize that there is a reason Tesla has succeeded whiles a lot of these other brands have failed. Customisation may seem fantastic to the customer but to the manufacturer at this time, given the capacity of output, may not make good business sense.

      Henry Fisker was the designer of some of the most recognized European cars, BMW Z8, Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage, VLF Force 1 and others. His designs have traits from each other.

    I heard that you can still get the Panoramic Sunroof as a off the menu item. I sat in the 2018 Revero and there was no way anyone taller than 5' could sit behind me and I'm 6".

    Nah. Hybrids are bullshit. I mean seriously it's a lot good about this car, but it's so much that could be done better. Come on, they wasted so much space by the gas engine and so on. I would consider this car a 2nd car maybe, but not now when it's clarified that it's a hybrid.

    This vehicle came out in 2012 and failed miserably. The minor refresh is still no comparison to even the 2012 Tesla. There are only a few styling items that are an improvement over Tesla but even that is highly subjective. I think the more the merrier but hardly a competitor to Tesla or any other premium electric vehicle. At a starting price of $130,000 it is ridiculous to not pay half for a Tesla that is twice the car.

    Keep in mind, these cars a lot more expensive than Tesla. They are probably making some money per car. Tesla is trying produce lower priced cars, available to many more people, at a good price. Learning curve to do that seems to be pretty difficult. So having less options is easier for them.

    This car is doomed to die. They should have better made it a full electric. If they wanted to make it a hybrid, they should have made it a parallel hybrid not a series hybrid. The Series Hybrid architecture is the worst concept of power train in the history of automative industry. It's effeciency is the lowest among any power train model. It is less effeciennt than even a gasoline engine car.
    BMW have alteady discontinued the series hybrid in their BMWi3 and BMWi8 models and instead only launching them as BEV. In the mean time BMW will still produce hybrids in other models BUT they will be using Toyotas parallel Hybrid architecture. And that's more efficient.
    These reviewers are just either Fake as fuck or don't know anything about power trains.

    Guys, You are 100% not a car guys if You cant see going back to gas engines - no electric car can replace V8. Electric for daily use, but real car guys need a gas engine in their lives. Revero GT is perfect for this.

      It is correct, it is not a hybrid, the ICE doesn't propel the wheels it just propels a generator that feeds the battery and the electric motors.
      It is an electric with range extender.

      Most likely the clients that would buy a Karma don't want to stop and wait for the battery to charge when they can just add gas and go. Which would be why I would buy a Karma if I could actually afford one.

    The eyebrows over those AC vents are ... funny. That's the word. I'd classify this interior styling as over-done. The body is handsome, but why that narrow "T" opening to the trunk? Looks like a rookie error.

    What a poo-bag of a car. Less capable, takes gas, less useful, weird new front fascia.
    The materials and craftsmanship of the interior look well made, but like you said, I'd hope tesla can find a way to increase profits by adding a bespoke division.

    Someone should make a documentary titled "who killed the gas (fossil fuel) car. Have Tesla be the main character.
    It's awesome to see the revolution happening, but it's hard for me to be excited for other cars when a Tesla is the only thing that get's my electrons flowing.

    I've always liked the looks of the Fiskar, but the powertrain is just awful. So much wasted space and needless complexity.
    Fiskar had legal problems with Tesla early on and has with Aston Martin as well. He's an egomaniac and is highly unlikely to make a full electric version until he no longer has a choice because he doesn't want to admit Tesla is better.
