@@ginadisbrow9324 You're welcome 🤗 i think know, but I love your great sense of humor and personality the comment you shared caught my attention, where are you from?
There is much truth to this song. We take people for granted and don't talk. You have to talk and show love and affection. Tell your spouse you love and appreciate them.
Love how this song covers both sides. No one is the bad guy, because both sides are broken. After 23yrs of marriage to the most beautiful woman on Earth, I can understand both sides. Whatever the choice. No one wins in the end.
I'm not fond of too many female singers or songs...but this song by Patty is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It's so sad and heartbreaking...yet absolutely beautiful at the same time. Thank God for UA-cam...cuz they don't make music like this anymore
Patty Loveless is my first female country singer with whom I instantly fell in love. She's got everything to be a country singer. In my mind, she exists as Patty Lovefull.
He never knew how determined I was to live this life. How I own this path, how allowed someone to share in it as long as you don't destroy me while your finding your self. respect all God's children rights to develop and grow. Ups and downs... mistakes are for the learning...not to be beaten for.
“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” Don’t expect your partner of no matter how many days, weeks, months, years or decades to become a mind reader. Like all good things, one must continue to work and fight for a happy marriage. After three decades, and still going strong, we still work at it. And remember to be kind to one another, be forgiving, and ask for forgiveness when you’ve stepped off in it! But it takes two, so for some, unfortunately, reconciliation is not an option.
I would like to add that it important to be receptive to your spouse when they’re talking and try not to assume what they are feeling or saying. You can be the world’s best communicator but if your spouse is constantly tuning you out, what’s the point.
Someone said, “The reason you have two ears and one mouth is to listen twice as much as you talk.” I’m as guilty as most of thinking I know the answer before the question is asked. We are all a work in progress. Anyhow, if my partner is tuned out, I probably need to stop saying and start doing. Someone else told me, “Your actions speak so loudly I can’t hear the words you’re saying!” And sometimes it really is too late. There’s more life to live. Learn and move forward.
When you say your sorry and you can’t even remember what for, because you’re told your always in the wrong. Being married can hurt so bad. Years later a song can bring it all back. 😢
True song. Thank You Patty loveless. Never cross my mind get married at all. Everyone meet been married or running back to there first wife. Hard find honest person now days

This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. I remember hearing it on the radio when it was new and I didn't like it the first few times I heard it. I had recently gone through a painful divorce and this song hit a lot of sore spots. Still, you couldn't deny that this song was speaking to millions of people in this country who were going through something similar to this. I also like how this song presents both sides, it's not just his fault, it's not just her fault. Sometimes things just happen and you just can't figure out how to fix them. I very quickly grew to love this song and I still think it's one of Patty's best. This song is a good companion song for another Loveless hit, "The Trouble With The Truth."
"He called to tell her he was sorry, but couldn't remember what for..." One of the saddest lines of any song....I love this song...I always like to think that they get back together in the end, despite it all.
Be here. My first marriage, it drained me. He didn't want the help he needed and stopped caring. Though it wasn't always like that. It wasn't even a year before it was all done. His drug use was more important (which is no surprise). I tried for months as a wife to help him. When that didn't work, I tried as a friend. Losing weight dramatically (bones showing), hair loss, paler skin, throwing up everytime I ate and more. He stole and put his youngest in danger. I told him to go and that was it. Now I've been with my current husband almost 10 years. We celebrated our 3 year marriage this past December with out beautiful 3 year old. At the end of the day as bad as that was, I'm glad I went through it. It taught me a lot. While we have our problems we work through it and become stronger for us and most importantly our son.

This. This right here. This is, in my humble opinion, the reason that country music had and can still have a resonant backbone. This song and many others are examples of country music at its finest, telling real stories of real people that we can all relate to. That my friends is what made country music universal. Kudos to Patty Loveless and Gretchen Peters for, simply put, bringing a masterpiece to life.

This lady is one of the most powerful singers in country music 🎵. Have seen her live and she sounds exactly the same as her recordings. Keep singing pretty lady to the world 🌎. Please be safe both you and your family 🤣.
I think this song means . She parked the car left it in the drive , the keys still hanging in the door . The kids were dropped off at her mom's , scattered laundry on the floor . Her ring , she placed on a pillow , making sure it'd catch his eye , and beside the grocery list in the kitchen , she left a note that couldn't lie . It read "Do you even recognize me anymore ? You've been distant for so long . Do you even know me ? So , does it even matter to you if I'm gone ?" He found the ring , the clothes scattered , and in confusion , he reached out , apologizing without knowing why . Then he pondered , "maybe you're on to something . I leave at dawn , return at dusk , every single day . Then he realized you don't know me anymore . I've been absent in so many ways . You don't know me , so why should it bother me if you decide to leave ? This echoes with weariness , from both sides it seems . They're just going through the motions , feeling invisible to each other . Its clear , love needs to be a two - way street , or it simply won't survive . You Don't Even Know Who I Am

A beautiful Gretchen Peters composition. Patricia delivers this like a freight train going by @ 70 mph and you are standing less than a foot away. Great read by Patty here. The finest female voice alive. Oh and I can tell you what a woman is. Take a look who'se singing this.
How are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
Ladies and Gentleman.....the best female Country vocalist ever...........
Amen to that
Is this country music icon seriously still not inducted into the CM Hall of Fame? Her voice makes me cry with joy. And when paired with the likes of Vince Gill, the hair on the back of my neck stands up. She's just too real. I love you Patty. ** Edit and update!!!! So sorry, I googled after I posted this comment. Patty is scheduled to be inducted into the CM Hall of Fame (Finally!!) in October of this year. God bless you Patty for all of your hard work and payoffs, including giving your fans so much joy in hearing your God-given blessings of talent. We love you bunches!!!

Heartbreaking to understand exactly what she's saying...

@@phillipgeorge4278, I've never been afraid of being alone. Tbh, I'm not sure what the answer to that question is...
I'm not fond of too many female singers or songs...but this song by Patty is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It's so sad and heartbreaking...yet absolutely beautiful at the same time. Thank God for UA-cam...cuz they don't make music like this anymore
Thanks for your kind words....
I am blessed to have such a fan following keep calm and stay country 🤠
Bet you're truly a fan of me ?
Best female country song period!
Patty Loveless is my first female country singer with whom I instantly fell in love. She's got everything to be a country singer. In my mind, she exists as Patty Lovefull.
I see what you did there. 👍♥️🙏
He never knew how determined I was to live this life. How I own this path, how allowed someone to share in it as long as you don't destroy me while your finding your self. respect all God's children rights to develop and grow. Ups and downs... mistakes are for the learning...not to be beaten for.
😢
“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” Don’t expect your partner of no matter how many days, weeks, months, years or decades to become a mind reader. Like all good things, one must continue to work and fight for a happy marriage. After three decades, and still going strong, we still work at it. And remember to be kind to one another, be forgiving, and ask for forgiveness when you’ve stepped off in it! But it takes two, so for some, unfortunately, reconciliation is not an option.
Civil war, Guns N’ Roses. I have always loved the intro to that song.
@@ambercourtney2029 its from (cool hand luke movie). Its a classic. Paul Newman is in it
Somethings can’t be forgiven or forgotten! Especially when they say it didn’t mean anything. When no sorry was ever spoken.
Best female country singer hands down!!
When you say your sorry and you can’t even remember what for, because you’re told your always in the wrong. Being married can hurt so bad. Years later a song can bring it all back. 😢
Totally understand

Patty is such a powerful woman. Bring the 90s and earlier country music back. Mama, they make them like that anymore. 😓
Hello Rekkless how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
She was my absolute favorite country vocal artist in the 90’s ! So underrated
This song makes even a man cry still!!
Not only, is she the n most beautiful woman I have ever seen , her voice is just as beautiful!
I've been a fan from the first time I seen Patty preform. Like wine she gets better with time. You get up stage perfection.
Married 41 years and, yes I relate to this. So sad.

Man… That steel guitar… Just gives me chills.
"He called to tell her he was sorry, but couldn't remember what for..." One of the saddest lines of any song....I love this song...I always like to think that they get back together in the end, despite it all.
If Patty only knew how much we love her songs
Hello Cory..
Glad you got a good man now.
WOW......this song definitely hits that nerve when you have lived this
this song came out when i was going through it

I’ve heard several version of this song, I like them all. This one give me chills and makes me want to cry. I read a comment that said Patty Loveless is the best female country singer alive , I guess I pretty much have to agree. Not taking anything away from Chris Stapleton though, he really needs to be heard by everyone
Patty, you can not be loveless as long as I have breath. Such a powerful song, sung with such sweetness
They don't make songs like this anymore
This song makes me cry. I think about those relationships that ended wrong, Where we didnt Even know eachother. 😢
Love and heartache, a two way street we unfortunately travel!!
You are the top of the list of lady Country singers as far as I'm concerned. You are the best and I dearly love you ! You are not only beautiful, you have the voice of an angel. I pray that God will bless you and your family forever, love yah !
Perfect example of what happens when you both quit trying to communicate
Yes you make a good point in your comment,Hello Sharon how are you doing 👋👋👋👋
Still as riveting as the first time I heard it.
I haven't heard this song in 15+ years. Know every word. The 90s......enough said
One of the most honest country songs I've ever heard X There are aways two sides to a relationship x very clever words x
Hello Carol, Good morning. The song is amazing and heart touching for real. Love it ❤
Hi Carol hope you're okay?
Damn if this song doesn't go both ways. I am severely lacking. Please listen more than you talk.
Haven't been married three years and this was us after one year. Not even sure why I'm still here

Hello 👋 I'm so sorry for what you're going true right now, stay safe you're also in my thoughts and prayers
My favorite female country singer. Love all her songs....
When this album came out you couldn't find it people were buying it as fast as it hit the shelves.
Yes it’s sad. It sometimes happens when the kids are grown and gone and you don’t know what hit you. Sad, but true.
Hi Kathy hope you’re okay?
I love Patty Loveless, her voice is pure! Would love to hear back on the charts or touring
Was married 12 year went to Iraq and Afghan came home and this song was the seen but life goes on
Hi Debbie you're okay?
Yes she is a hall of famer that voice is special song sends chills
