this is indeed a good list but how in god's name can you forget the super tension build up in the first proposal scene from pride and prejudice...they were literally fighting against each other and inching closer to almost kissing....that was some real raw tension well executed.
Keira Knightly and Anya Taylor-Joy fit sooooo incredibly well into period pieces!! Keira has been doing it for many years and I feel like more roles will follow for Anya as well!

same here...to be honest it is one of the very few movies which made my heart hurt so bad i refused to watch it again just because of the depressing ending
Joe Wright has such a talent to create this tension. Every time I see one of his movies I get butterflies like i'm 14 facing a crush again. His last one Cyrano was also amazing
nope. Anya is for sharp and out there roles. Nothing is dreamy or subtle w her. That ofc is not a problem, just not what Keira's newcommer should have :)
I fully thought this was going to be like. A break down. But also I fully watched my first chunk of Anna Kerinena today and only recognized the actress because obviously Keira Nightly.
the first Mr darcy confession turned fight was full tension between the couple, and it's not here, that was the most electric scene of the whole film though...
Keira Knightley is very likable in interviews (for instance she's always been one of my favourite guests on the Graham Norton Show), but she's never been a very versatile actress. Whether she plays in Atonement, Anna Karenina or Elizabeth Bennett, she is always just Keira Knightley acting. She never really becomes her characters and that's because she's actually not very good, just very much loved by the camera. Most over-exposed actress of her generation, I'm so glad she's no longer everywhere and other actresses are stepping up in roles that would have been hers just a decade ago, such as the recent "Lady Chatterley's Lover" with Emma Corrin.
The fact that so many of these are Kiera Knightly proves just how incredible an actress she is. Also, the Jane Eyre one is vastly underrated. Such a good list.
I don't know but Kiera Knightley hardly brings any variety to her roles. Every role seems like a different branch of the same character. Her expressions, speech pattern and reactions are all same. And choosing all of her movies for this video makes it glaringly obvious.
Every time I see James McAvoy I think about how he had to break his Xbox 360 because he was so addicted to elder scrolls oblivion, makes that scene seem a bit less romantic lol.
Keira Knightly really is the Queen of period pieces.
I love her but you always see Keira - she brings her own mannerisms and facial expressions into each role ….that being said I still love her
I feel like she often plays the same character which is a shame. I don't think I've seen her switch up her accent in any movie either.
@@frankieb43 In begin again she plays a more modern character. Also in the jacket and jack ryan shadow recruit she does an american accent

@@shashikafonseka1857 The movie's name is Atonement
Even in her Pirates of the Caribbean roles she oozes tension, for her age she is a master 💕
What fascinated me most in Atonement was this fountain being so deep tbh.

i can't believe you left out the rain proposal scene from p&p! that is the PEAK of period tension
So true! A great scene!👌
Especially the almost kiss
I would have inserted that scene
that scene had more elctricity than a power generator! my fav scene of the whole film really!
Incredible scene!
I will never stop watching Pride and Prejudice. It’s so perfect.
Yes, Colin Firth was magnificent, wasn't he?!?
This is me ❤
Only with Colin Firth. I like much more Jane Eyre :)
Mükemmel
Também não canso de assistir Emma
I'm pleasantly surprised that Jane Eyre was given the respect it deserves
A highly underrated adaptation
Seriously, my favorite Rochester

Keira Knightley dominated period films like anything

Old School James McAvoy. 😭❤️
You should watch the movie "Penelope". It had a young James Macavoy. He was so handsome.

James Mcavoy is the hottest n I love their chemistry in atonement, the way he looked at her. He looked innocent n shy but then that letter.
