I only changed the switch. I didn't even have to open the back up. Thank you! Just did it all right there by pushing the drum over like you instructed. Works! Thank You!!

How did you change the switch it works but I broke the lock trying to open it while it was locked and now it won’t wash my clothes because the lock broken

1. unplug machine.
2. open up the switch by pulling the locking tabs that hold the top and the bottom plastic housing.
3. remove the spring
4. push the plastic as if it was in the locked position ,metal pin inside of the electromagnetic coil.
(the spring pulls the plastic latch back to the unlocked position when electromagnet is not engaged)
5. put it back together
it will always think it is locked but function as normal.

Video was accurate exactly how I was supposed to change it but does it mean that I got a faulty part since it still won't register what it's supposed to?
This video made this repair a piece of cake. And saved me about $300-$400 for a tech to come out

How about just showing us how to wire it so it just knows it's locked when this thing constantly fails for such a poor design with even worse injected molded parts inside that don't even fit. I've replaced three already junk.
Cut the wires to the switch and wire them together and wire nut
What a trash complex design for such a simple lock systems.

My washer still won’t start the smart washer technology screen is saying flashing (lid)
I've replaced this part but it won't latch on it's own so the washer still doesn't start. I have tried adding a jumper wire from red to blue

Clips don't just press in like how he does it. Had to angle it and then pull the other clip out a little with needle nose just to try to get it to snap in place

Followed replaced broken lock switch. It locks but 6 mo old washer still wont spin.
Did you go through the binary diagnostic tests? Hold start button for 5 secs and then while still holding turn dial counter clockwise for 7clicks. If you lift up your washer on the back left side you should have the paper instructions if you don't UA-cam a video on the codes

Repair worked great for 1 cycle. Now my washer isnt even sensing that the lid is closed 🙃

Yes connect it to your car battery to jump start it

Everything went well & worked for a few days.... Now it's doing the same thing with the new Switch.....Please HELP! After not bothering it for an hour or so it starts back up but will not spin all the water out, I did Notice it doesn't like Speed Wash .....This has been Horrible...It is almost like it get hot & want to cook off before another wash.... I think I don't like GE anymore.... My House is 80% GE appliances

They forgot about the part that goes on the lid, if you don’t replace that part, it won’t latch.

My washer just locks and unlocks repeatedly and doesn't start the washing cycle. The pause button also stays blinking. Anyone know what the issue might be?
