- 2015 200S AWD 3.6L Pentastart V-6 with a simple muffler delete from the exhaust. I'm posting this to allow people to compare the Super 10 videos out there. This video sounds very similar to how it is as I recorded it. Try this mod BEFORE you waste money on a Super 10 - Don't let your car sound all high pitched and raspy. Get Low and knarly.
Before I started playing your other video, I was thinking that this setup was going to be too loud, but I think it sounds great! Awesome looking 200S 3.6 you have there man! I hope you make more videos of it. I will definitely watch and give them likes if you do. One other thing I wanted to say... I just watched your driving video before this one, and it's nice to see a video poster who knows that you absolutely cannot hear a car better on camera with the windows down! You hear nothing but wind noise most of the time. I wish more people would realize this.
lol - holy hell that sounds good... knowing nothing about the 200, I was trying to look for owner videos to see if it's as bad as mainstream reviews suggest (seems not) and found this muffler delete and thought: "that's random" then listened to the rev, *beautiful*! Wondering if it would sound this good in any Pentastar application in the FCA lineup. Great video.
My wife has a Pentastar Charger and although she won't make any exhaust modifications, her system is setup different than my 200. I doubt they would sound the same, but you could convert as close as you wanted. For all I know her Charger might sound better, but I doubt it. They made the Hemi for that.

For those worried about your warranty, don't! For them to void your warranty they have to prove that your modification was the cause. They can't just automatically void your warranty if your transmission goes out because you installed a cold air intake, for example!
2 things I most enjoyed about your video are: you didn't start playing some obtrusive music as you start your engine and then you placed your phone in a good location so that the high speed exhaust coming out of the pipe didn't create the loud roar that a lot of people do. Great job on your car and with the video!

Sounds great, I have the exact same car in black and have done some exhaust mods among other performance mods. Warning for those considering this.... I straight-piped my awd 200 initially and it sounded great but the drone was outrageous. This led me to install a super 10 muffler which yes does not sound quite as throaty but turns heads nonetheless. No disrespect to Brendan because it does sound great. Just wanted to share my experience.

They just did a poor job buddy, they musta kept your tips too close to the under carriage.
i have seen another vid where the guy did the muffler delete, but then took out the stock resonator and then put in a magnaflow. it sounded really really good
I am concerned about messing up the sound that I'm used to already, but I think I'm saving up for Coil-Overs, so I can lower the car a stitch and get some firmer ride. The sad part is that the last set I had were Tein Type Flex and I really enjoyed being able to adjust them whenever I wanted.... I don't have many options on this car though...

Im pondering a 2016 200 s awd 3.6. Sound is so important to me. This sounds great. Just totaled my GT (no pedestrians harmed);-) . This 6 might be ok. I'm 71 and trying to slow down as little as possible.
I can't attest to the speed of the 200S vs your particular GT (presumably a Mustang), but it is still rather quick. Most importantly though, it is AWD, so not as likely to get out of control on you. It is also has a decent traction control system, which even when turned off (turned down) is is still pretty good. I say turned down, because the only way to really turn it off is to remove the power to the traction control system (read fuse or relay).
If it fits you and you're comfortable with it, it is a decent sound. I get positive remarks about it enough. No one has ever said it sounds bad though my wife calls it annoying, but she drives a stock and quiet Charger with the same engine. She likes quiet. As far as your age, you're only as slow as the car you drive it seems.
RangerFreedom thanks for the answer. Your good at this. My mustang was great till the snow. I feel like this is as fast as my mustang maybe faster. The 4wd will get me through another winter. I had a Audi Quattro (euro trim) and loved rainy day driving too. I wonder if somebody has came up with shift improvements. Ok keep up the good work.
Don Berry S-mode basically improved throttle response on the pedal, increased transmission line pressure, and higher shift points. I don't feel the paddle shifters make the car faster, but they do put the little bit shift control available to your finger tips.
does your car throw codes since you took out the muffler with only having the stock pipes

No changes that I noticed in mileage. It is at least lighter, so sure about performance. I can't really say though.
I also have a 2015 200 s AWD. For all you guys and gals that own the 200 s with the 3.6, if you did not know this, the FWD and AWD models have different resonators. The one on the AWD model Is shorter so, if you do have a FWD model, more then likely it will have different sound results.

Who did you use to fabricate the pipes? I am very interested in putting this on my car. Any info for this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you . Andy Vittoria
The first exhaust shop that I went to did this. They just fabricated the Y-pipe and the rest. I suggested replacing the flattened portion of pipe, which they decided to do. Any shop that does exhaust work should be able to do this work. If they can't fab a Y-pipe, then they should be able to buy one and then they better be cheap.
Did you delete The Resonator Too as well or just Muffler delete?

Resonator delete aswell? I have a 2013 exhaust is my last bit to gwt done, finally got the lower intake ported and a custom air intake.. As well as a hemifever tune.
krazor8 i had a 2013 then a 2015 awd and the 2015 is at least half a second quicker 0-60 and its 300 pounds heavier. the power is up like 25 hp

Flowmaster outlaw, its a muffler but it DOES NOT quiet the car down at all, it takes away the droning and rattling of the pipes, and if you have emissions in your state, you will pass
just wanna say car sounds amazing just got my 2015 200C V6 and ive been wanting to get a muffler done and after watching this im def doing a delete instead lol was curious about the resonator was there a reason you kept it?
It was recommended. I think it likely gives it the low growl anyway.

Ok. I will see what I find out. I have a place in mind. What should I expect to pay for parts and labor, based upon what you experienced? Keep up the great work. I saw the in car video as well. cost is likely going to depend on how expensive where you live is. Some other 200 owners report around $150, I paid over $225. I didn't have many options though.
In some states you have to have a muffler,in my state of Maine,that car would fail inspection without the muffler
I don't live in a state that has quite that much overreaching government babysitting of a free people. Hope you're happy with Maine. No one requires inspections on my automobiles, guess I'm just living a little more free than you. Welcome to America.
i like this .sounds much better. what was the stock diameter of the pipe and did you stick with the same size or did you go larger. larger i believe would be a deeper rumble. not for sure.
I'm not sure about what the size actually is, bu the pipe is the same size as stock. After the Y, half the volume of exhaust goes through each pipe and that might effectively give it that rumble that you're talking about. At some point though, it leaves the pipe and goes to the biggest pipe (atmosphere), so there is a limit.
Pipe size does offer some tuning though, so it should matter, but the length of larger pipe is the issue. My opinion.

Hey question after you had your exhaust down did you notice a difference in idling
Justin Kleven I can notice that the idle tumbles from time to time. As far as idle speed though, it is the same. As quiet as the stock exhaust was, I would assume the idle tumbles happened with the stock setup, it just couldn't be noticed.

You know the 3.6 has 2 Catalytic converters and 1 in just before you muffler but I didn't see it??
Jordan Marshall apparently not on the AWD version, because a catalytic converter was not removed to do this modification.

If you have the 3.6, all you have to do is ask for that large briefcase looking muffler to be removed and a Y-pipe installed to run straight pipes to the exhaust exits. If you look under your car, have them make it look like mine. You should be able to just take your phone in with this video and they would figure it out too. If not find someone that can figure it out, because this is a simple exhaust modification. If you have the 2.4, I have no idea how to help you get this sound.

It wasn't overly expensive. I know some people got similar jobs cheaper than I did, but I paid for quality and professionalism, so I don't feel bad about it. I would think a similar job should costs in the $150 to $250 range. The lower end being more lucky to find. I would guess mine was in the $225 range, but I don't recall exactly how much it was.

I have a super 10 on mine and it’s not raspy lol? I have the 2013 model with the cast iron block pentastar with a jones turbine resonator mines supercharged there’s nothing raspy about a super 10 lol

For some reason mine have a bad drone inside the car even with slight acceleration in the highway. it drives my wife crazy. Now I have to get a muffler probably a flowmaster super 10
Are you running the newer 200 with a 3.6, because I can't imagine it being that bad? It makes me wonder what could be different. I'm interested in seeing a picture or video of your modification though.
I have the 2015 AWD V6. I'm thinking it might be because he installed a shorter pipe but it isn't far from what you have. I just got a glass pack installed on both exhaust. Helps a bit on taming the sound.
I'm surprised that it causes the drone to be so bad, but my last experience with glass packs on the end of an exhaust system supports your problem (in my opinion).
How does it sound cruising along. I want to do that but I dont want to hate an hour long ride either.
Z1000 Kawasaki. I'm not going to kid,I wish it were a little quieter. Considering the room available and the options to cost, it isn't worth it to me though. It isn't bad and I don't regret it and I get positive comments from people including a few "Is that a HEMI?"
It doesn't sound like one to me, but the guys that change my oil take notice everytime.

People do mufflers because straight pipe drones. If you have a long commute it wears on you.

+23jumpup23 My local dealership already has a paper that says that my exhaust performs as required or something like that. I went in the day after with a complaint that my kids report smelling exhaust in the back of the car when I dig in the pedal on occasion. They replied that it is fine, so they can't get out of it now. I don't know how the muffler would be required to warranty the engine though. I guess getting window tint might void it too though.

I can't believe this is a serious question but it is the same as before the modification. Never bottomed out.
I have managed to have all 4 wheels off the ground and it didn't bottom out when it came down either.

I did mine today it gets pretty loud at 2k rpm
I did a cross country drive and for the few times that I go uphill in the mountains, there is a drone, but it is only between 2200-2300 rpm and my car is never really in that band too much. Above and below that range it just sounds good.

No, that wouldn't make sense. I didn't take the catalytic converter out.

They don't know this engine very well then. The Pentastar has so much valve overlap, that the engine doesn't even produce enough vacuum to be used for auxiliary systems, so FCA had to use use a separate vacuum pump. Going to straight pipes with the catalytic converter wouldn't cause a code. I think you might get a code if you overly restricted the exhaust, but that would be it I think. The engine is pretty much setup for what most stock engines have to be modified to do, that is why the power ratio is over 82. 82 is high for a mass produced stock engine.

Without being in gear, the computer limits RPM to 4K and it revs it strange.

There's reasons to still have a muffler and loudness depends on the individual perspective. And the fact that u say it sounds fast makes u sound like a ricer
