Before I ever heard of the great Denise Love, I was an art supply "collector", indulging in all the new and innovative toys at the House Of Blick. Today, I am using each of those toys with a level of confidence I am proud of. Thank you Denise, for teaching me to be more brave with my art and changing me from a "collector" to a "player"!! LOLOLOL!!! Have an awesome day!!!! P.S. Tar gel is the coolest stuff when used with fluid type paints!! I have been playing with it for weeks now!!!
Oh cool! I’ll have to check that out. So glad you have been enjoying my channel and you are diving into your art supply stash!! Thank you! 🥰
I would love to see a video that explains how you do your landscapes. They are my favorites, and they are the hardest to replicate on my side.
I have done several in skillshare classes similar to these if you are on skillshare! 😊.
Years ago, I lived in Okinawa Japan when my husband was in the military.
I absolutely adore the Japanese people and their handmade artistry and art supplies.
If it's something you do, I'd like to see how you stretch the Kuretake 48 colors .
I would love to visit there! 😊
@@2lilowlsstudio Such a beautiful place to visit and to live. If you get an opportunity to go, do it! :)
Yes, Denise, we, your followers are also like you!! I also got the same two Gansi Tambi watercolor sets! You are tough on my wallet too! I will enjoy seeing how you organize someday!!💕
I did a studio tour just a couple of weeks ago. I show you all around my space and how I have things organized. I’m pretty efficient now. 😊Check that out here: ua-cam.com/video/tq3y3qarmv0/v-deo.html
P. S. Froyle Art did a video making rosettes with the string gel that was cool. Mine were more like real rose shapes on tissue paper which I really like! Using it for collage, the tissue paper disappears of course! Nice and fun!
So cool! I’ll check that out! 😊
Girl I just love your videos so much so that I subscribed to skillshare to get more of you. Your enthusiastic teaching style drew me in. I teach the elementary kids and so I really appreciate your fun attitude. I love how you make art accessible to anyone. You really simplify the process. As a person that overworks till the cows come home I’m learning quickly less is more. Thanks Denise!
Thank you so very much! I'm glad you are loving my channel and can't wait to see what you are making in some of the classes!! 🥰🎨
Denise, your abstract classes on Skillshare are my FAVOURITE classes and I just can’t get enough. Now I’m hooked on watercolour abstracts! And so glad I can watch even more tutorials on your UA-cam channel.
You’ve truly made my day!! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
I just love your videos and finding out about new art supplies I never would have looked at or tried. Thank you for your inspirational videos ❤
You are so welcome! 😊
Such exciting supplies. Loved to see them in action.
Thank you! 🥰
How exciting!!! Denise....I've purchased some of the art supplies you have used to create. Just couldn't resist. Thank you for sharing your unique as well as lovely abstracts. I did buy the copper & gold....how can you resist gold??!! You are wonderful. I love your spirit & imagination.
😘💖
You can never have too much gold!! Thank you!! 🥰
I love everyone of them. Your absolutely one of the best out there.
Thank you! ☺️
I have to say you are a bad influence on me! I have spent so much money on building up my art supplies and waiting now for my Kuretake paints to arrive on Wednesday. 😊
You will love them!! 😁🎨🥰
I want those Paebo tubes! I appreciate you linking everything.
They are cool! You’re welcome 😊
LOL! This is going to hurt my pocketbook! Just ordered a 36 set of Kuretaki paints today. Now you're showing me more stuff??! Oh oh! 😉
You’ll love them!! 😁
Your energy is infectious!!! I really appreciate that
Thank you! 🥰
I had fun watching you create these - but I mostly love how excited you got using the string medium and then again as you layered everything up. So infectious that I had to grab my sketchbook!
That string medium is fun stuff! Have fun painting!! 😊
I love the Kuretake watercolors. I use them a lot in Chinese watercolor paintings, and just when I don’t feel like mixing colors in my sketchbook.
I love them too! 😊😊😊
Absolutely lovr, love, love them. You are so amazing. Thanks for sharing. 🌿💞🌿
Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
I’m glad you show using the new supplies ❤thank you ❤
You are so welcome! 🥰
They look like an ethereal SW scene…I love them!
Thank you! ☺️
How fun was that!😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Thank you! 🥰
Fabulous….mission complained …I want it all. 😂😂😂
Lol!! You’ll love them. Thank you! ☺️
Please share with us where you found your supplies that you used today. Love your work.
All the links are just below the video in the description for you!
DeniseI love your fun work it would be nice if you showed us some of your own work and not just experiments. Although I do love the fun.
I love experimenting. Most of my photography business was about experimenting and getting creative with your camera. Experimenting is what I love. 😊
A lovely haul ,,,, and loved your artwork, ❤
Thanks so much 😊
I’m so obsessed with your videos! Thanks so much! ❤
Thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
I love your channel, talent and inspiration
Thank you! 🥰
Oh I love these postcards, I enjoyed painting on them and I love how soft they feel! I also love how with your first stroke you painted a landscape 😂👏🏼 browns are not my thing but these truly came out beautiful 😍
These were a bit outside of the normal colors I tend to use... but I loved how they turned out too! Thank you!! 🥰
OK I’m only five minutes into your video and I’ve given you a new name Enabeler! lol I’m so excited to see the products I don’t already own. I have one finger ready to hit Amazon,Yes through your site. lol
Haha! I’m totally an enabler. I am also an art supply hoarder. I love experimenting with all the supplies!! At least you can also see the ones you know you wouldn’t like - so you can say you saved money! 😁🎨🤗
Ohhh! Love love love these!! Gotta get me a Chinese brush and that copper! I have the regular size Kuretake paints. That's the first WC I bought. And I have the big set you have and the Art Nouveau is on backorder till July 31😭 These were so so pretty! And that string medium is really cool too! Thanks Denise!! 🥰❤️
So glad you enjoyed the video!! Thank you! ☺️
Just found you and subscribed, art supplies are my guilty pleasure too. I live alone and don't have friends or family so I've only got me to spend money on. I buy all year for christmas and my birthday then wrap up my presants and forget what I've bought so I get surprises lol, been buying and wrapping for my birthday in July so I can't wait to see what I've bought 😂 but I know I'll love it all
Omg!! I do that too!! I totally buy fun things through the year and wrap them up for myself for Christmas!! I love that I'm not the only one that does that!! 😍🥰🎨
Love watching you create! Along with your primal screams🤣Do tell please what you use on top of your art creations to prevent from smearing, once every thing is dry✌️❤️
Thank you! 😁
Finishing just depends on what I put on the pieces - if it has pastels - I’ll do the sennelier pastel fixatives. Otherwise the Krylon artist sprays are nice. Sometimes I don’t add a finish. Just store in clear art sleeves. Sometimes going ahead with framing. The Gamvar is nice for a varnish finish. Try a practice piece of which ever you try to make sure you like the way it finishes.
@@2lilowlsstudio 😊 thank you, you def have a new fan❣️
I live in the same art supply world! I must have ALL the things: every of the art things! Those Kerataki watercolors are one of my favorites so far! (And the calligraphy brushes!!)
Yes!!! We must have all the art things!! I love that there are people who get this with me!! 😊🎨🥰
Watch the price on those as they tend to change. When I couldn’t stand it anymore I checked & it was $38.00!! Woohoo!!❤❤❤
I have taken all your classes on Skillshare and WOW, I just found you on UA-cam. Happy Dance!!!
Yay!! So glad to have you here too!! 🥰
Just so you know… my wallet is trembling 😋
Lol! I get it! I’m totally addicted to fun supplies 😍
@@2lilowlsstudio I noticed 🤭
😂
Mine caved and turned into jello. 😂
@@mendyviola 🤭
The Kuretake line has a art nouveau watercolor set that is pretty sweet. ❤
Oh yes! That is my very favorite set too 😍
Wonderful result. I have the paint and the calligraphy brushes so thank you for showing me a new way to use them. Love from Australia.
Thank you!! Time to get your paints out and do some fun experimenting! These are fun and turn out so good 😊
Denise, did you know cretacolor who made those charcoal sticks, also have a line of charcoal powders, including graphite powder.....yummmmmm. im currently waiting for my gansai tambi paints to arrive from japan....I hold you responsible for fueling my addiction😂(just kidding, of course).
I have the graphite and charcoal powder! I made some watercolor paints with them. They are cool!! 😊
Lol, your enthusiasm is contagious! I am getting used to your style and I am loving it and I want to try this for of art out. I really want those water colours and they are now on my supplies list!
This is so beautiful thank you for your UA-cam channel!
So glad you are enjoying the projects!! You'll love those watercolors!! Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
I love each one! I’m adding more to my wish list from watching this.
Yay! Thank you! 🥰
Wow! Love this! ❤
Thank you! ☺️
Oh my gosh! How exciting to open new art supplies❤
Super fun!! 😊
Im so glad you have this kuretake set! I have the same one so happy to be able to paint along 😊
Oh Yay!! So glad you are painting with me! Thank you!! 🥰
Oh my goodness, you have no idea how much I've enjoyed watching this video! I purchased the Hahnemühle Postcards in my last haul (for Mother Day 👍) and so I just want to head straight down to my studio and start painting a triptych now (which is one of my fave things to do). My Kuretake Art Nouveau paints are also my fave set of paints (and I have a lot of paints). The Liquitex medium looks like a def win for abstracts by something I might also find a use for in my portraiture work. Hmmmm, the possibilities. A really diverse and interesting collection of supplies in this haul. Will def put the Posca pens and Liquitex medium on my "wist list". Many thanks - from Australia x
So glad you enjoyed this haul! Lots of fun goodies. I’m always looking out for new interesting stuff to experiment with. Got some fun gouache coming that I’m excited to try out soon! Have fun painting! Thank you! 🥰
I just discovered your channel. Your work is inspiring, your manner is charming and your laughter is infectious . I am now a big fan, and excited to try your methods. Thanks❤
Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
Have you tried colored sumi ink sticks? They are so much fun! It’s a process to make them into ink, but the process is meditative.
I have an ink stick and the block that came in one of my monthly sketchbox … but I haven’t tried it out yet. I’ll have to have a go with it! 😊
@@2lilowlsstudio when you make the ink, take your time to make sure it is thick like honey and you can see the bottom of the mixing block when you drag the stick across it before you use it. You can always thin it down from there in a smaller pallet.
Great video. I had no idea charcoal was such a versatile medium. Now I'm going to be watching lots of charcoal technique videos!
I know! Right? Charcoal is fantastic!! Thank you! ☺️
Denise do you spray charcoal just like you would pastels? Same spray? Thanks!🥰
@@susanorban3059 yes - I use that sennelier pastel fixative. Do a test piece first so you know if it will make changes to your art and if you can live with those changes 😊
Beautiful and so fun! Love the colors!!!
Thanks so much! 🥰
Love your paintings, and your chuckle!
Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful paintings 🤎 I got me a Chinese brush , but haven't tried it yet! I'm so excited to
You’ll love it! I’m obsessed with that brush lately!! 😊🎨
cool!
Thank you! ☺️
Just found your channel. Gosh I am in love. 😍 so happy I found it. I do have a question, do you feel like there's a difference between using the charcoal and soft pastels?
So glad you are here!! That’s a great question - I’d say they feel similar when I use them I could easily interchange them and get the same look and feel. The pastels have a much larger color range though. Thank you! 🥰
Do you remember how long it took for the tar-based black to dry I hear it’s pretty sticky stuff? I like the look of it because it has dimension.
Hmmm. I’m not sure what you might be asking about?
You can buy replacement Posca nibs in any of the sizes, so you can replace the thick nibs that they came with, with the thin ones you like. They come in packs of 3 or 5 (depending on where you get them from), and are quite cheap. Hope this is helpful to you.
Wait….. Whaaaattttt??!! I didn’t know you could do that! Super helpful. I’m going to look into that. Thank you! 🤯🤯🤯
That's amazing to know!
How do you seal the postcards to keep them safe during shipping? Nice work!
You'd want to use a finishing spray on them like a varnish/ spray varnish I'd think. Otherwise, I'd put it in an envelope... I'd want to protect it even though it is a postcard. ☺
I was thinking the same thing lol!
I do love it too😊
💛💛💛
I loved this video so I went to research the products on Jackson’s and the only vegan product was the posca pens 😢 Love your art tho 😊
Oh no!! So sorry about that! Good to know if anyone asks me. Thank you!!
Have you found a holder for the Kuretake pans ? I just have the Set of 6 that I would like to add to my plein air
backpack
No, they live in the box they came in and are stored in my cabinet beside my art table. I haven’t needed to have a different holder.
Thanks for a great video! Your fun is infectious! Say, do the Pebeo tubes have a smell? I’m sensitive to chemical smells. Thought I would ask before purchasing. Love your cards!
Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
I just went and squeezed some of the Pebeo copper out on a paper to check - I cannot smell it, so I don’t think it has a chemical smell.
@@2lilowlsstudio great! Thank you!!
Lovely
Thank you! ☺️
What type of paintbrush are you using? I would love to order one.
I have linked all the supplies under the video in the description for you with links so you can check them out! 😊
The kuertake watercolors, can you replace just one pan when you use it up? I’m not finding individual pans.
Yes, you can get single pans. St Louis Art carries them: shop.stlartsupply.com/collections/kuretake
Denise, my Posca pens never work right for me. I struggle to get the paint flowing. Nothing like how yours works for you….any suggestions?
I want to love them, but it’s frustrating
Hmmm… I just get them started and go. I don’t do anything special.
