I wish this video was more serious and provided more details about box tuning and equalization of the room modes. BTW, I've got two of these amps for the bass sections of my DIY tower speakers.
So now we can get the same clean, loud 20 Hz out of a significantly smaller box than we could before without overstressing the amp & drive? I would wonder.
Who ever said without? Obviously, the woofer needs to move similar amounts of air to create the same sound. How to do that in a sealed box? Give it more power. Do you just blindly criticize technology you know nothing about all over UA-cam?
Ehm, yeah sure, they will sound about the same, but both the amplifier and woofer still has to work alot harder giving more distortion. And also you wont get the same max spl output. You make it sound like a DSP is some kind of magic box that gives you more and better sound out of nothing.
Ha! Not NOTHING-someone's gotta pay $ for that DSP! You may get more max SPL, if you can make the amp work more effectively at the desired frequencies. But I agree with the phase distortion part-let's see a phase graph!
I have powered JBL speakers on my computer. I own a 15" sub (By Dayton) just one. Can I hook that up to this system? I did buy a "Sub Woofer Amp" for the 15" as well. Just one sub.

John Smith in certain frequencies, but its mostly about proportioning than anything, for instance if the hit from one note thats higher in pitch is louder than a lower one, instead of just rebuilding the box you can eq it to be the way you want. I like to think of it as fine tuning whereas box building is general tuning
Some call this cheating, but I call it an amazing leap forward in technology. great stuff!

@@DescartesRenegade yikes rene, did I insult your boyfriend or some such? dsp is not a cure all. when you've been around awhile you'll learn things.
@@porkchopspapi5757 yep, you know nothing...
@@DescartesRenegade what is rene whining about now?
@@porkchopspapi5757 I'm whining about your stupidity. UA-cam is at your hands. Go learn a thing or two about audio before making dumb statements.

Best thing for room correction :)

So this is going to magically make my subwoofer/box louder? That's what I got out of this.

REPOST. Okay, maybe not a Repost but it is Close enough to the video you posted 3 weeks ago to be a Repost. That is a WatchMojo Thing to do.
The other video was removed in order to clarify and expand on what we were trying to say.
1:41 program name?
No the amplifier has to work harder. Also probably another program that runs only on windows, like DATS.
