Welcome to the "most livable city in the world." A short tour around the Melbourne CBD on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Last October, I captured over 400 'For Lease' signs in the CBD. China Town remained untouched but a walk there a year later paints a different story.

A lot of the people of Melbourne clapped when these emergency powers were implemented. These are the same people who have never been effected by this, and never lost a days work. Best decision I've ever made was leaving the city I lived in for 11 years.

It's heart breaking to see Melbourne dying, I live in Melbourne for 27 years, before I moved to country NSW on June 2020 just before 2nd lockdown. I spent my entire adulthood in Melbourne, so many good memories. I'll miss Melbourne a lot. But sorry I won't be coming back to Melbourne. As soon as government open overseas travel I'll be gone from Australia for good. It was a best country to live in but now Australia become dystopian country.

It's easy to blame the 'leadership' but we are the ones who let this happen. I only hope there's still time. Where we can find ourselves again and perhaps understand what it once meant to live in this beautiful country amongst wonderful people before fear lead us to where we currently reside. WOW. I was born in Melbourne in 1959 and grew up in what I thought was the greatest city in the world. Working in Collins St was fantastic, the lunch time crowds with the unmistakable busy BUZZ how great was that. I moved to Brisbane almost 30 years ago while it tore my heart out leaving I am happy I no longer live in Melbourne. What a terrible site mostly police, seagulls and sparrows. 😱😱

I'm from regional Victoria, I've been to Melbourne quite a few times for shopping and concerts. It was always so hectic and busy, vehicles and people everywhere. This looks so quiet and dead.
