    You just saved me a ton of money, time and frustration. Followed the directions as you mentioned. Used 3 in 1 oil (similar oil) and cleaned the fan blade. Works great! Problem with my fan was caused by a dry bearing which responded well to the oil. Thanks a bunch!!!

    Good stuff, but WD40 is not a lubricant . Put a few drops of real oil on the bearings.

      @Creed Bratton you can actually buy a little can of lubricating oil called "3-in-One Lubricant" and once you put a few drops on the blades of the motor, spin the blades and wipe up any excess and then you should be ready to go :)

    We’ve got the exact same one in the basement and it is extremely quiet it’s 110 CFM 0.9 sones And I have tape on the cover and I have it pulled down on one clip so it is directly towards the shower so they can exhaust the steam directly from the shower and I’ll leave the door open about 3 inches maybe and I leave the fan on 24 seven and an exhaust outside

    The only thing wrong with this is the use of WD40. That is NOT a lubricant. It is a grease solvent and (as the name implies) "Water Displacement." Use a good oil for electric motors.

    I took my fan out and cleaned it but it still rattles. Headed to the store for a replacement when we plugged it in just to see and it’s quiet as a mouse! I think the rattling is the actual housing in the ceiling vibrating but it’s not loose. Any ideas on what to do? Wrap it with something? It’s loud.

    • @homemend
      @homemend  2 роки тому +1

      Hey ballerina. Fans are sold by how quiet they are now. Unless it was a fairly decent fan they are pretty loud. If it’s rattling you might try putting some thing in between the housing and the framing. A piece of carpet would work well. I hope this helps
