    That first shot where it went straight through without breaking really made my jaw drop

    I had no doubt it'll hold up, glass was used by aboriginal from australia (kimberly type) and North America during the contact period and susequent period. It knaps easier than it snaps. Great vid, I'm always enjoying your content !

      That's a great quote "it knaps easier than it snaps" I'll be taking that one

    Cool test brother. If you want a thinner profile with the artificial sinew just split the strands. There is usually 3 small strands twisted together. I used to use deer leg sinew and hide glue but its a mess.

    thanks Greg - it really was a nice presentation and the "industrial obsidian" head is awesone ! It seems to me a little bit thicker than what I've been used to watch up to know ... I'm reflecting now : giving up a little penetration to win durability is not the worst approach .

    Nice. I’m going to try to learn glass knapping asap. Hope I can get the hang of it. I’ve wanted to learn flint knapping for years but there aren’t any good flint knapping rock naturally in my area (Nova Scotia), so I decided learning to work with glass would be a more practical skill.

    That is actually pretty impressive strength, I would've figured it would have been fine for hide and flesh.

    Can you make one from terquoise?

    • @kylefessenden3111
      @kylefessenden3111 3 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately turquoise is not a knappable material. In order to make an arrowhead by knapping, it has to break in a conchoidal manner.

    The back looks like it Flys high maybe add some extra weight more fake animal tenden near the back end of the arrow an it might shoot 20 30 yards or so better than it does not like modern day paper tuning
