That is the Glass bow from Skyrim in reality, and no one can convince me otherwise! Great work. I would like to try this, but I cannot find fibreglass strips anywhere. Any hints?
I just watched you for the first time today and immediately subscribed!!! I watched like 10 videos in a row😂. HOW DO I BUY ONE?? I am a bow hunter and a small hunting recurve bow is exactly what I’m looking for!
What is the length of this bow? I like the grip on this bow. Do you think it would be possible to make this bow in 38" that could be drawn to 28" ? Once again job well done!
Thanks a lot friend! this one is 44 inches long, i have drawn this bow to 28 comfortably but, for 38” long bow i would change design a bit, maybe little shorter riser with more deflex. There is limitation with this straight bars, if they have reflex curve from the fades up, and then recurves, the bow would be much smoother… For 38” bow i would use multiple thinner fiberglass lams and glue them into the mold to get that shape
What epoxy do you use? The variety is mind boggling and they all have different properties, I've been making bows for the better half of the decade but I have yet to use anything sythetic, fish glue and tendon scraps from the local hunting club are simple enough to use and there's plenty of info out there, but I can't find anything on what epoxy to buy for fiberglass beyond "it has to be elastic and resilient to shearing" lol
Hi friend, thanks for watching! Epoxy EA40 smooth on is the epoxy that many bowyers use including me. Ive used a lot of different epoxies with success, they all are super strong, but EA40 is my choice
Thanks a lot! Rods can handle less stress cause of round cross section, so i would go with less stressed longer bow, but rods are more efficient than flat bars, so i think even the straight limb profile would make fast bow… Soon i will try to make bow with rods and we will see how they perform
@@Helmbowman Hehe oh yea for sure! I think would have also changed the entire bow design. No need for a big ass "longbow" when your short fancy bow can do the same or even better on a wall/horse/formation.
Hello 👋🏽 You make pretty nice bows! I wanna ask, do those split and glued parts function as a siyahs on normal traditional bow made of organic materials? If so , can I go and make wooden siyahs, and use fiberglass just as a limb? I'd like to make some sort of Mughal styled crab bow, with flat, around 45mm wide, unbent fiberglass limbs, and siyahs out of wood that give it agressive bend. Also, which fiberglass strip thicknesses are good for bows above 40# and which for beginner bows, around 25#?
Sure, there are a lot of bows with flat fiberglass and wooden siyahs, i also made a lot of bows that way, they work great, go for it 😀 for above 40# go for 5mm or more, and for around 25# i would go with 3mm
Hello and thank you very much for this video! Do you think / have you already tried inserting wooden Siyah between your fiberglass splits? How did you get the beech leaves and can they be replaced with carbon fiber? Thank you again for this video and the time spent making it!
Hi friend, I’ve seen people insert the wooden siyah between fiberglass splits but i haven’t try that yet… I cut that beech strips on bandsaw, but you can use any wood, fiberglass or carbon fiber for that. Thanks for watching!

@@samlecoupe1309 I’m glad to hear that my friend! As for the riser is just personal preference, i have build a lot of bows with forward riser, i prefer that, but customer wants the riser like this
