The tech is shamefully slow from transitioning from what cars have had many years. Better late than never and I was originally on the side of the fence when ABS was first introduced back in the 90’s as someone who would never have it on two wheels.
This sport tourer will be the # 1i or # 2 in sales you watch & very intelligent team of technicians at Yamaha, created a winner & with so many advanced amenities ! A very intelligent dominating sport tourer to say the least !
I boughta GT+ almost a year ago. It is an amazing bike. The engine is phenominal. My only complaint is I wish the heated seat was a little more comfortable.
I had a 2015 FJ-09 and it's nice to see, through many iterations of the same concept since then, that they've addressed every shortfall from the initial offering, finally got the dash and controls right and added some really cool tech. I also like that you can get a proper OEM key-matching trunk from Yamaha, which you cannot do on the new Suzuki. My only wish would be for fully electronic suspension that includes preload.
Great value here. My Ducati MS V4S has ACC & Blind Spot Detection, not why I bought it, but BSD is fav feature in any bike I’ve owned. Catches cars on the left, & fellow riders creeping up in your lane on group rides. ACC is neat, but I avoid hwy
Very nice. The only reason I'm leaving a comment is to point out that a manually adjusted windshield seems out of place on this bike. As a technology showcase motorcycle it seems odd.
6% APR if you’re lucky. OTD for $18.5 I’m assuming. Still doesn’t come with the top case from what I understand or hill hold control. I don’t care about ACC or unified braking. Not necessarily deal breakers but eh, a slightly used GS is entering the chat.
IF you are there for riding experience you can buy 2022 for better price. IF you want extra tech, get the new one. I bought to ride, and mostly ride on open roads in the mountains, so linked brakes or adaptive CC doesn't make much sense for me for now.
Curious what kind of heat this bike puts off on your legs. I’m 6’2” and currently riding a 2024 Africa Twin and it’s often like someone is holding a hair dryer to my knees. I love the bike otherwise, but it is really annoying.
How is the Tracer compared to the FJR? Anyone have both? Wondering about 2 up riding as well, I’ve been on big baggers for years and I’m about to jump to and FJR or maybe a tracer
But why did they make it an ugly "battleship grey"?? It looked really good last couple years with the silver and black with blue wheels. I've been thinking about either this bike or Triumph 900 GT Pro. Now I"m thinking maybe a '23 Tracer 9 GT instead of a '24.
@fearhand12 i hate when i joke about new tech then they introduce it. Right now I'm putting my money on 1300GS coming with a recovery winch within next 5yrs 😅
Thanks for the review. I don't know how I feel about the radar braking setup ... not 'sold' on it anyway. I'm still not sold on linked braking. But I've never had either, so maybe I'm just ignorant. If it were possible, though, I'd get the bike without the braking 'feature.' I rode the previous version this past June at Americade - I found the handling to be odd. It resisted turn-in. We checked the tire pressure when I got the bike back and sure enough it was low (~ 5 PSI). But was that really the culprit? I never hear anyone mention handling problems so maybe the PSI was the issue.
No problem at all. Much better than previous generation. My wife and I did day-long trip with no problem. If you have a top box, it is even more relaxing for a pillion.
I'm a sucker for a pretty bike,, and this is a beautifully stylish machine. The featured color is rather bland imho. I'm 8 payments away from full ownership of my Super Tenere👍, which I love. So yeah,, the Tracer is gonna have to wait. Oh well.
A rider triangle to fit everyone? A good attempt I would say as not one single bike is made to fit everyone perfectly as we are all built differently, with potential disadvantages.
I own tracer. It has adjustability to make it better. Handlebar can be adjusted, foot pegs can also be moved up and down, seat can be adjusted as well. YOu can make setup which works for you. I am 6'2 and can spend a day riding with no issues. And I ride different bikes from time to time.
@@SergeyVikultsev I’m the same height and yes it does offer a nice level of adjustment. However, my point is their simply isn’t one bike to suit all riders. The rider triangle is one point, so is what you actually do for a living (computer based work vs manual handling) as these also play a role, and then theirs the issue people can develop or have sustained via injury. It’s a great compromise, no doubt with the level of adaptability. Peps just can’t say it fits everyone. That’s all. Enjoy your ride!
This material becomes so dated so quickly thanks to The AI now still think the Honda CT125 best machine out there for buying a workhorse product which this is clearly geared towards that. I'd actually prefer a 2 stroke diesel engine to what is offered as well. Strip the weight down, get rid of native cooling, add battery reverse and save all of the electrical functions to run through the *"Yamaha App"* and put a cell phone holder where the screen currently resides as the only thing better than having your own motorcycle is the ability to take your bike into the home and kitchen and have it nearby always and certainly a Yamaha App would allow for that...also allow for to keep an eye on your machine maybe send a warning out if something untoward en route etc😊😊
After eight months of ownership, I have to say that as much as I love the performance and handling of my GT+, the awful seat design has been a major disappointment. Extremely uncomfortable, even after I had it reupholstered and re-shaped with additional padding. I’m on the verge of trading this for something else - which is a real shame.
It’s a shame Yamaha still hasn’t figured out how to have the left AND right lights on. Wonder how many people are pulled over because the police officer thinks a headlight is out.
Glad I got a leftover new ‘22 before they ruined the bike with linked this and that with unnecessary radar cruise control and marked the price up $2500. Paid $11500 otd yesterday for a 12/22 built date in red with 0 miles on it.
Too much crap.... I just want to ride. I have a 2020 tracer 900 gt. I love it. Suspension is good once you have it tuned in. Could use a steering damper. Gets great gas mileage. The gt9 is a masterpiece and a marvel but do I need an engineering degree to tune it to my style of riding? I turn everything off on my tracer and drive it in A mode. The brakes are anti lock but I'm old school, I like my brakes separate. This shared braking is for the birds. You get reliant on a computer telling you how to ride and forget to actually ride.
Get rid of the ABS ... ALL manufacturers put the ABS pump under the seat. Then they run from the master cylinder to the ABS pump, right on top of the engine. So your brake fluid gets pre-heated to 200 F. That is 1/2 of dot 5 or 5.1 capacity. HORRIBLY STUPID DESIGN. Dangerous in my opinion. the owners manuals all say change the brake fluid at 10k. But there is no way brake fluid will last that long under those conditions. ABS should be considered attempted murder.
@@bwxmoto yes, that would be too dangerous to let bike decide everything. It only assists when sees that there is not enough force on the brakes to avoid the accident.
That’s amazing. Starting to consider moving on from the old FZ. The tech has moved forward so much that it’s hard to ignore.

I'm leaving the BMW touring herd for this bike. I''m 73 and have ridden 356,000 miles since 1998,
I ride a bmw k1600gt 2016. Paid €6K for it.. doubt this bike can beat it
Best stock seat I have seen on a new bike. Looks real comfortable. Nice design Yamaha. 👍
Picked mine up this weekend. Just superb riding
How have you liked the bike? Seriously considering buying one.
Great video, beautiful scenery!

That just made the list. What a beauty.

The FJR could use new TFT screen. Quick shifter, a better seat, Heated seat would be nice!😊

Pls also mention the cons of this bike. And would love to see this compared to v strom 1050
V-Strom can do a bit of off-road. Tracer is purely road-focused machine. But this bike is more fun and more modern than V-strom.
Doesn’t have hill hold control. That doesn’t make sense considering the tech it does have.

I would not agree on that anymore. Ducati has improved their motorcycles in the last 14 years to be quite reliable.
