      Yeah I'll be interested to see how popular the 1300 GS actually is out on the roads… it's coming out at a time when most people have less money than usual (but I guess most of the older owners will perhaps not be as affected by rising costs?)

    I love the evolution of the tracer, much more than the other triples, of which I have two. With the exception of the scuba mask dash, which they’ve thankfully changed, I think it’s refined its strengths. They could have changed the bike completely, but I feel each iteration has just “matured” a bit instead. 👍🤪🏳️‍🌈 or I could be way off 😵‍💫

    Hi Tim, great review and looked like you went on some roughish country roads. How did you find the suspension in terms of absorbing rough surfaces effectively. A mate of mine has the previous model and he and other members of our ride group found the semi active suspension very hard (front) or way too soft with nothing in between. Very frustrating and he has not been able to resolve it. What are your thoughts on this?

    I’ve spoken to a few owners now, and they’ve said the paint oxidizes and comes off in radom areas on the bike. That’s a no go for me for how much it costs. It also doesn’t have hill hold control. Not needed but why not considering everything else it has? Weird.

    • @timrodierides
      @timrodierides  Рік тому +2

      To be fair the Triumph's engine has to work off-road (low down grunt, flat torque curve), whereas the Yamaha can be a bit wilder because there's not a version with knobbly tyres/21" front wheel. But as a result… the Yamaha is way more exciting

    • @jamest5149
      @jamest5149 Рік тому +1

      As a lot of bikes are now 1300cc+ and an entry level bike is 400cc, 900cc is near middle weight considering it used to be entry=125cc, middle weight= 750cc and 1000cc was the full fat. The middle ground bias being on the high side is about the same comparing, its about recalibrating your expectations with modern bikes.

    No shaft drive so that’s an immediate none starter I really think UA-cam reviewers just skip over the entire chain maintenance item on such comparisons, many manufacturers are failing to meet such demand.
