Great video Mark and super fast turn around! Our apartment is much roomier now thanks to you and we love it. A couple things I forgot to mention, I put all the Santas I found in the gray box that says "RPPCs and some holiday" on it. And at least one of those long white boxes that is sorted by letters is actually all Illinois towns and cities. Let me know if you have any questions about the way I organized stuff!
Fun to watch this entire episode; it is obvious that you enjoyed the pick itself and the initial examination of the many boxes of pc’s. Clearly a fair price for this great haul. Lots of work ahead but you will continue to enjoy it. Good luck and happy listing!
Holy to the Moly, Mr. Mark! Really enjoyed this. Buckhorn, ON even. I've been there once or twice. For anyone curious, those archival boxes are over $25 EACH here in Canada. So I'm kind of jealous just of those! You're going to have a lot of fun with these I think. Thanks for sharing with us, Marky Mark!
Awesome video Mark. It really drives home the importance of building relationships within a community. Opportunities blossom from those relationships. Well done sir!
Awesome video and what a purchase! It would be fun just looking through all those cards. Should keep you busy for awhile. Best of luck. I know you will do well.
You were like a kid on Christmas morning, it was fun to watch. Great deal. One thing not calculated was those archival boxes, they are not cheap . Not that you use them for active listings, but for longer term storage while waiting. P.S. - I could not find that UA-cam channel as mentioned, I sure would like to check it out. I pretty much only follow finance and ebay reselling channels.
Thanks Flipt! Yea I could not keep my eyes off those boxes. I have some old red ones for my boat prints that I will swapping with these. Now I have to go back and either watch the video again or go thru the boxes again to find that one RPPC box :)
Yeah they are - I wanted something very sturdy that can stack and much preferred the archival boxes to the corrugated cardboard type ones. The channel is called "The Money Guy Show"!
@@mailseum You're serious??? Hahaha, I have been watching Brian and Bo for a long long time, way back in the old studio. A small UA-cam world. I thought he said the money guide store or something else. You have connected my 2 favorite worlds in postcards and finance. You gathered a heck of a collection and gave Mark great content and product. Thanks for that. Mark is top notch too in this realm
@@flipt4real762 ah man that’s so cool! Yeah when I started we were still in the old studio and I remember we were at 28k subs. I think we might be the only two into finance and postcard UA-cam.
I really enjoy your videos. This is a good one. If you have a bunch of New Mexico and/or Southwestern cards, I’d be interested in buying a lot at a reasonable price. I’m following you on EBay.
Great score Mark. Have you thought about selling a few of the boxes "as-is" on eBay by auction? Just to help us out as we are drooling over your tremendous inventory.
I got 2 big scanners and a baby scanner! What I need is more hours in a day and 10 more arms!! Thanks Steve! I'm sure you got my dig on driving on ice :)
I need help. Anywhere in NJ that I can cards appraised? I found a shoebox full of 100+ year old cards in the back of a file cabinet that someone threw out like 15 years ago and I just held on to them. I'm a broke millennial and could use the money to pay some bills.
WOW!!! What a great video, Mark! You are going to do fantastic!! At 8 cents per card, you can't go wrong. I really like how he had them all in those archive boxes. Really goes to show that he took a lot of pride in the postcards. Great find, Mark! Really looking forward to your future videos!! Edit: Off topic, but do you know where to buy those type of boxes? Thanks Mark!
Thanks Julie! Yes A lot of work to go thru, but I can check sourcing postcards off my list for this year! You know I don't remember seeing a Montana category either! Maybe they all sold out :)
Thank you for sharing! Have it all presorted is a dream come true. Will save you hours or extra work even though I know you don't presort. Looking forward to your 6 month or yearly update. Those hand painted Javanese cards can do well. Just black I get $15-20, with color I get $30 easily.
Great haul! You can sell bulk lots on whatnot to get rid of the greetings and cards you don't like. I don't know if I missed it in the video but you don't say where Daniel got all this inventory? It looks like a mix of auctions, eBay, flea market buys from the boxes??
Amazing video and purchase Mark. I was excitedly waiting for this after you told me. I would love to go through collections like that! The photos and ephemera were amazing (my other area I like to sell) and I have to admit that when I saw that dinosaur box I was going to lose my mind if it was all dinosaur cards lol. Also I have my eyes on that squeaker cat card
I have some smaller lots of 100 Postcards in the KO-FI shop here is the link ko-fi.com/smpostcards You can see the front of the card in the pictures. Thanks for asking.
Congratz on the postcard haul sounds awesome! By the way, do you still use the standard envelope? and after testing it for over a year, do you think shipping in the envelope is still worth it? in spite of losing ebay ranking due to tracking issues?
Impressive haul. You just can't go wrong on that price. I also think the seller did okay. You can't ask for the world when you have that much product to unload. He did also have first pick of the lot, and he must know at least a little bit if he has a few thousand postcards listed on eBay. I'm not sure I would want that sort of volume, personally. I have the room but not the will. I like to buy one or two thousand postcards at a time, and I'm trying be really selective. But my CPU ends up being about three times what you paid, so that's the trade-off.
Thanks Biff! I was not really looking for any big buys this year, but when Daniel and I spoke I just had to try and we agreed on the price and both happy with it. I also enjoyed getting out and driving to Nashville with my Father In Law! Daniel is a very Sharp guy I was impressed with his organization.
@@SMPostcards I was an executive chef in Nashville leading up to the pandemic. In 2020 I returned to my home state of California and began reselling full time because there was nothing else. Now that I've made it work for a couple years, I'm going to keep grinding.
It can be really good income. I was in the restaurant business for years and had my own restaurant and catering business. Sometime I miss working in the restaurants and sometimes I don't :). Now a days with the work force I don't think would be to much fun. I retired right before Covid hit and had 3 storage units full of inventory (Toys Store back then). I just stayed home and listed and shipped. I was selling so much stuff Toys and Postcards.
@@SMPostcards I miss cooking from time to time, usually when I see something that I would've liked to put on a menu.
