    The actual sailing part is the easiest part of owning a boat.
    You need to be an Electrician, Plummer, Engine Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Cook, Doctor, Rigger, GRP repair specialist, Gelcoat repair specialist, and more all in random priority.
    If you don't know how to do something, hire a professional and let him talk you through the install. So you do it under his supervision, you want to be able to do any and everything on your boat yourself.

      You nailed it Dutch! Also to add, I’ve seen often where diy stuff fails, conveniently at the dock when the owner is
      ‘Lucky’ and well offshore when they are not.
