The mean of the AVG is a 4 percent loss and the mean of the 1% lows is a 7 percent loss. Not as bad as I was expecting but still a real loss for intel.
you should try disabling ecores as for gaming thay can't do much e-things or save any energy or power as overclocked they're. 8 p-cores with HT Vaseline vs No Power Limits. Main thread clocks are maintained below maximum without a theoretical reason... cpu uasge is under 40% of threads of the 32 available... too many cores...
Ist der I9 13900k ohne Powerlimit jetzt schneller als der 14900k mit Powerlimit?
Intel is the best seller of Ryzen CPUs.
tech tubers are
Well the funny thing is about these latest AMD and Intel processors is that Intel which was considered expensive for smaller processors like i3 is now cheap. AMD which was considered cheap for small processors is now cheap only for Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9.
"They both" have the same major shareholders and most of you are being played out so much hahaha
Intel would probably go up to 500W just so they can beat the 7800X3D which uses only around 100W LMAO
not even 100w. The average i've been having between multiple games are about 45-60w of usage. It's very efficient. Even if i put it under stress test in prime95 or cinebench the highest it goes is 79-80w
77W
@@Korsera what? how?
Sorry but in this test intel without power limit is hitting 150 watts against 140 on power limit. So don't know where you get 500 watt I beth you didn't ever watch video. But want to tell everyone some gospels you heard somewhere. And one thing about amd fun boys is that don't tell that amd have the most power hungry graphic card on market. 7900xtx takes more watt then 4090. But no one is talking about it like thers no issue
@@evan-du3vk4090 use more power
Honestly the attempt to push every little hairline of performance at all costs without any regard to temps/voltage/strain on the components just so they can state how much better they are is really killing me in the current pc market
Cry me a river
thats why undervolting is popular now
You do realize locking cores and voltage adjustments is the same thing as undervolting etc the power delivery changed dynamically when tuned.
Unfortunately this practice is with people who know how to and listening to random YT advice isn't going to be a fix for all

With this the 7800x3d is by far better cpu for gaming.
Welp, we finally figured out Intel's plan to beat Ryzen in gaming benchmarks. Letting their CPUs draw a buttload of power until they melt. 😂😂😂😂

So, is the 12900K a lot close to 14900K now? And at 188W, will the 14900K perform even worse? lol
Yes.
The 14900K has 2MB of L2 cache on each P core compared to 1.25MB on the 12900K, that combined with improved support for faster DDR5 memory should give the 14900K an edge even at the same power draw and clock speeds.
@@lharsay Yes, but the question is by how much.
lol not close. Even when it down clocks the 14900K has better IPC and more efficient. There is a good chunk of difference between 12th and 13th/14th gens
What? no lol even a 13600K trades blows with a 12900K in benchmarks.
4096 watts? Ugh you need a nuclear PSU to power that thing up!
It's intel's extreme mode where they don't put a power limit on the CPU and allow you to go with as much power as can be drawn and cooled before thermal throttling.
I have a nuclear power supply in my pants if you wanna check it 😊
4096w = unlimited
It's just the way to write unlimited in the bios
@@kelvinkms3671 I bet ya they'll come back with that woosh joke meme, where we didn't understand Jakiy was joling
TURN IT OFF, OTTO! TURN IT OFF!!!!
No its stabilizing
Everyone should set their power limits accordingly to their cooling solution, baseline is to run at the crappiest coolers. If you disable both limits and set TJ max to 90c instead of 100c, the TJ max will control your power limits for you without reducing performance in games. If you have crashes just increase the vcore by 20 mv. Problem solved, everyone go home now.
I bet you don't even know why this video exists in the first place. Let me explain it for you. Intel CPUs are getting hot af and degrading very fast because of how hard they're being pushed out of the box. Making them unstable and crash prone. All just to get that extra 5 fps to beat Ryzen 7000
@@chadfang2267 I bet you don't have sense of humor.
@@ZionXVI oh mb. joke went way over my head. I thought you were one of them guys.
I wonder if the i9 14900T would actually recieve the 35W profile it's advertised with.
i never expected that intels best product pulls more ~45% power in games than AMDs counterpart in prime95... and it still loses.
10nm intel vs 5 nm tsmc.
What settings are you calling the Intel Baseline Profile? From looking at the OSD data, I don’t see why there’s an FPS drop. Both CPU temps look good and power usage are both under 125W, the lowest possible PL1 limit. I do see the drop in Core frequencies, but what setting is responsible? What exactly did you change between the two runs?
The intel base line profile is actually 125w pl1 and 188w pl2. The 253w pl1 and pl2 profile is actually called the extreme profile by intel.
Compare it with 7800X3D!!!
THis. I'm curious as wlel on how it compares to the 7800X3D with the baseline profile instead of the typical "no limits" one.
HW Unboxed did that a few days ago.
@@primodragoneitaliano how can you not know it by yourself?

I've been wondering since the release of the Ryzen 3000 how it's possible to choose Intel, and I sincerely hope it becomes competitive again
didn't this channel used to put an overall avg or geomean of the combined tests at the end of the video?
4000W?
The 14900k loses a good bit of performance in most, while very little in less CPU intensive titles.
14900K (KF) , (KS) 는 커스텀 쿨러를 써야 되나요?
I wonder if an i9-14900KS suffers a greater performance hit or a smaller one due to its current limitations, which made it worse in some reviews compared to the i9-14900K, because it wasn't able to keep its all core clock speeds. It wanted more Ampere but didn't get it.
En juegos cpu dependiente es que se ve mas la diferencia o poniendo la configuracion grafica en baja para que toda la carga se la tanque el CPU por que en ultra y alto no va a pasar.
nice, maybe 4k test now?
update the bios and use the baseline profile for Intel processors and not make the games crash/drop in unreal 4-5.. over time I will fix it for greater performance and stabilization of the Intel CPUs
How do you manage to have such low temperatures? I have a water cooler just the same but I don't have those temperatures
Air conditioning.
When baseline profile enabled, desktop CPU seem like a laptop, frequency dropping always.😂
Does this baseline profile also affect the performance of my 13900KS ?
yes
Would air coolers be able to tame 14900K with baseline profile enabled?
lol
you wish
It's crazy because im doing this video atm also, but my cpu will draw 300w in short bursts at some points
Can't wait for 15th gen
The problem with these test is that thei were all done on 1920x1080 resolution. Most people who owns i9 14900K play at least on 2560x1440 monitors. FPS comparison on higher resolution would be more useful.
Test in 1080 for limit cpu,qhd and 4k test limit of gpu
this is testing the CPU not GPU.
why cpu bottle necking in both cases ?? I see 4090 not reaching to its full utilizations
if you bought a i9 for gaming you already deserve a darwin award...

PL1 and PL2 both can be set to 253 watts. That might achieve similar Framerates to NO Power Limit.
PL1 set to 125 watts is crap.
Correct. Also, this processor requires a lower current limit set, as well as undervolting. These "auto" settings on these motherboards are what's ruining these CPUs. These motherboards are hitting these chips with an electrical fire hose, of course it's going to 100 degrees and of course they will degrade.

When will you test a 14th Gen CPU with a proper 7200 CL34 Memory?
Has anybody else noticed that he keeps fudging the numbers for the averages and 1% Lows at the end of each segment? Instead of listing the numbers as they were at the end of the gameplay sequence, he seems to write them down as they were at the time when the difference between one and the other was greatest. This is very dishonest. Upvote this so other people see it, please.
Maybe he does more than one run and takes the average at the end of the runs?
@@integraxnine745 No, he doesn't. If you watch the benchmarks carefully, you'll see that he watches for the time in the benchmark when the number is lowest or the difference between the two is greatest and he records THOSE numbers as the end result instead of waiting for the 30 seconds or 1 minute to finish and then writing them down. This is unscientific and defeats the point of the test.
basically 12900ks performance
Are people blind?
It’s not actually pulling that much power when gaming…
But… for doing a workload of cpu specific tasks, it does draw far too much power
So for raw gaming, it’s still a pretty good cpu
My 13900k will draw over 150 Watts consistent in cyberpunk at 1440P. Even with the new default setting from Intel.
you are probably gpu bound hard and running around 120fps so ofcourse cpu has nothing to do. I can get up to 280w on cyberpunk with 13900k + 4090 on low settings
The Problem i have is that my cpu can not run at 5.5 MHz it will crash after a few minutes. Iccmaxx at 400 amps is not possible for my Cpu. I had to downclocked it to 5.3 with powerlimits at 125/253W and 307 amps. Since then no chrashes.
150 watts is nothing for your cpu. My 13600K 5.6 x 4.4 x 4.9 draws 160 watt in BF 2042 and can spike up to 180 watt in Generation Zero. Increase the vcore and crashes will be gone, you don't need to downclock.
@@club4ghz okay i could try it but what about the temps. If i enforce all limits PL1 and 2 at 253 and 400 amps it will go over 90 celcius in most newer games. With these settings and 5.5 Mhz it will show me 1.430 V in the bios. I have a corsair 360 AIO in Cinebench it will hit 100c. I tryed to limit the temps to 90 c but even then it will crash. Maybe your right about increase the Vcore:
@@LiNeZzz88 Set your TJ max to 90c and TJ max will take care of the temps and power limits. Extra vcore will take care of the crashes. Power limits can be off once you do that, or you can set them both however you want. You can set them just a little bit higher than the most cpu power hungry game you ever played draws. This will eliminate clocks throttling in all your games. You want the highest clocks possible in gaming, but you also want your clock to give up under max stress.
Серьезно , 4090 в FullHD ??? Вы гоните ............
Do test HT on vs HT off
you know, that would actually help because H/T does cause the processor to consume more power

i know you're joking.... but... for those that don't know... that's an unlimited power limit.
its not actually 4096W, do you actually believe that 💀
4096W essentially means unlimited. Don't expect the non baseline one to draw more than 300W in real world scenario
Nice
So in gaming the 14900K lost even more performance compared to 7800x3D that costs $320 which was already on top anyway, and in actual production workload it fell even worse compared to the 7950x3D which was already on top as well , huh. i swear since first gen Ryzen intel just started swinging hard landing no shots, and after Ryzen 5000 they just lost. all that is cuz of the laziness when they thought AMD could never catch up why should we work hard, now that they need to work hard they are nowhere near AMD. my last Intel CPU was 13700K. realized i was just being a fanboy and switched teams

baseline is 125w not 253
Compare that to Ryzen, pulls between 65 W and 95 W
in cpu test you have to start to use cities skilines 2 with 1 milion people in the city, and you have to check simulation speed in developer tool, not the fps
14900k with baseline profile = 13900k 🤨
The horizon results are weird.
Those are not Intel's baselines! Those people at motherboard manufacturers that did those baselines are completelly stupid. Especially Gigabyte. They used 1,7 mΩ loadline which leads to absolutelly insane operating voltages. Even Intel has called motherboard manufacturers (especially Gigabyte) to remove that crap from BIOS. Gigabyte already remowed that BIOS update that implements Intel Baseline. And also ASUS uses baseline that has some utterly insane settings. Those people that programmed those BIOS settings at motherboard manufacturers are stupid or completelly incompetent.

253W is not "Baseline". Its the "Extreme" profile. Baseline is 188W. ua-cam.com/video/bHILyzooR58/v-deo.html
Intel's latest statement basically says run Extreme if your motherboard can deliver the power reliably , they seem less concerned about the CPU itself not handling the power.
that's PL2, not PL1
I have a simple solution... Don't buy these broken processors... I wouldn't buy it anymore mainly because of the consumption, where next to the 13700K the performance is ridiculous... I'm building a PC now, so I'm going to 13700K, where I'll reduce the CPU frequency even more I will reduce the voltage to 5.2GHz and get everything that the entire 10nm process offers. Cores, frequency, good temperature, consumption... 13900K/14900K is again only a joke from Intel...
Another thing is that I don't understand why Intel doesn't go for it as well as AMD: 12P cores 5.2GHz, L3 Cache 100MB and all CPUs ever released by Intel can be buried...
Intel pushing the highest frequency at cost of high voltage and high power consumption, just to sell expensive CPUs. I knew it wouldn't end very well...
i figured this would become an issue just about when the warranty expired on these processors. I'll bet Intel was thinking the same thing I was thinking
