I have a Kestler Scooter that has a throttle with a function button on it with 4 wires going to the scooter. All of the replacements I've seen have 5 wires. I'm wondering if I could use one and just not connect the 5th wire that I dont have, and if it would work? Thanks for your help!
Yes, It will work as long as you know which wire to connect to. I have done it with my friend's e-bike replacing it with an AliExpress twist throttle. Google the 5 wires thumb throttle wiring connection to get info.
Yes replacing the whole thing is always easy but if you want to keep the original mileage and settings of your scooter then this is the way and it's a lot cheaper too.
@@ottohumpmachine8958 Yes, you can use a flat screw driver. Insert inside while pulling the grip, but the chances of scratching the handle bar is big, just be careful not to damage the grip.
Thanks. Let’s say I wanted to install the thumb throttle and didn’t care to preserve the original display and odo. Obviously I would lose the gear selector and menu options, but would the top speed be affected?
@@ottohumpmachine8958Interesting question, you just gave me an idea for next scooter content. It will require more tracing of the circuit where to connect the 3 wires. Im not sure but I would guess that it will be always in high gear which is mode 3.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed demonstration on how to convert a trigger throttle to a thumb throttle - great upload!
Thanks for watching.
The magnet is mo longer on the trigger, I have a new dashboard to install, how can I ensure magnet remains, can it be glued, any suggestions
You can use super glue

Can you remove the grip without a compressor?
