There's a moment at 3:27 when Roger stops and asks the ref. to unhook Claudio's foot which is trapped in his kimono. Complete awareness and complete regard for the wellbeing of his opponent. Roger is simply on another level.
What’s so enticing about Roger is he wins, most of the time by submission, but he never tries to do more than jiu-jitsu. He’s wasn’t trying to be a showman, embarrass his opponent, or look like it was more than what it is. It’s grace and technique. 🐐
A frieza do Roger é surreal.. Sem contar o Jiu jitsu LIMPO, raiz mesmo. Faz do simples o mais mortal! Raspar, montar/pegar as costas e finalizar. Hahahaha
That little dude Calasans is a an experienced Judo Blackbelt. His father is a red and white Judo Master. His origins are based off judo, so its not that surprising even with the weight difference. His wrestling is off the charts also. Being a middleweight he won the ADCC Absolute.
Roger was reaching way over the top of the back leaving that shot open all day. I'm surprised not by the takedown but by Roger leaving himself wide open for such an easy attack.
@@av8orCH-47 Yeah same here, I would expect Roger to know if he's going for that deep belt grip he needs to put pressure on Claudio's back and get him on his heels. He just left him wide open for the high crotch/te guruma
I met calasans at the adcc 2013. He is actually smaller than he looks. He used to compete as a middle weight, but must only just about made that weight. He should of kept it as a stand up battle. He did well considering.
In all of these videos of Roger around this time, he gets to mount and there's usually only a minute or so until the end of the video because he finishes everyone so fast from there. Like clockwork

As soon as I turned this on, I thought: Roger with a collar-choke from the mount. He must have a record for that sub.
And the most impressive thing is, every single one of his opponents knows that's what he's going to do and can't stop it.
A calma do Roger é assustadora slc
kakkak pior que é mesmo.
Lemme guess... cross collar choke from the mount.
Nutcracker?
Roger é muito diferenciado. O cara parece que tá passeando na rua... muito técnico
Thank you. More Roger videos please :)
Good fighting and sportsmanship. Everything ends up on the ground. Hugging and choking. It’s like a family reunion 🤣👍
Isso q eu chamo de fair play...falou p juiz q o dedo do pe do adversario tava engalhado...esse Roger eeh monstro
O Roger faz qualquer campeão mundial parecer um iniciante
I can't believe that that little dude took Roger down like that. Great showing considering he was at a big disadvantage.

Calasans was amazing this year... but, that was Roger in his best year. Just the GOAT!
Esse cara é um monstro faz posições básicas parecerem sofisticadas!
Love how Roger just casually taps out countless black belts with the first choke you teach white belts and kids. Unbelievably skilled in the details.
Check the womens fight in the background at 5.06 and 5.17.
Giddy up!
I think of Bachelor Party.
is it a footlong? and then some.

What did Roger do to get Claudio tapped! Que Roger fez para Claudio en final? Cross choke?
Yup, cross collar choke.
