This is gold
Such a cool guy, love this guy! Legit leglock badass
great teacher!
Ty
I can't wait for him to start producing teaching material. That's money I would gladly spend.
:(
I have been studying leg locks since I began training in like 2001. Started in a Pancrase school so there wasn't any stigma attached to heel hooks and I have always loved them. I have studied the techniques of Gokor, Paulson, Riley Bodycomb, Imanari etc throughout the years buuuuuuuut.... Tonon and Cummings have really raised the bar with leg control and attacks. I could never understand why they weren't using the reap but then I started to look at the 411/honeyhole position and have really been impressed with the effectiveness of it. I'm drilling the hell out of it when I train no-gi. Sucks my BJJ friends aren't really interested because it isn't IBJJF legal. Ah well, their loss.
+Kevin Moss I agree. I've been rolling for a while and always run into the problem of... don't do that, you'll get disqualified. Well, I don't really care about qualifying for jiujitsu competitions. I want to know how to execute the submission properly. its frustrating when I work really hard to get into position and then someone looks at you like you're the worst person in the world because they "don't do that here."
+C Foe
Yeah it sucks but you have to let it go or train elsewhere. I used to preach to my IBJJF buddies all the time but have learned to let it go now unless I'm asked. I started to feel like a badminton player going to a tennis club and trying to share my off the hook shuttle cock techniques. You have to accept some people are just not into it. Now i train BJJ and teach submission wrestling so get the best of both worlds.
+Kevin Moss Fuck the IBBJF and their bullshit rules that have turned Gracie jiu-jitsu into the grappling equivalent of sport TKD.
mentira

I have almost the same experience with leglocks as you do. Find me on Facebook so we can share leglock techniques. I have been collecting instructionals since before 2000.

superb
Cool
what a genius
This is great. 3:27 is great advice!
how old is eddie ?
Heel hooks should just be called Hell hooks, because that's what they are imo. They give me nightmares.
I wonder if this was their approach in 2015 or if he was teaching this stuff incorrectly on purpose. (in reference to the breaking mechanics of the heel hook and escaping the heel hook)
It’s not really incorrect
I tapped out Eddie Cummings with a heel hook
I prefer him over Danaher teaching the leglock game...
That was such an ugly ashi by the guy who isn't Eddie
So dangerous they should ban heel hooks
There are tournaments that allow them and some that don't. They shouldn't be banned all together. It should be up to the choice of the competitor what tournament they feel like competing in. I love going for heel hooks and I have never injured anyone or been injured by them.
It's people like palhares should be banned, not the heel hook
Just do Cross Fit, and leave us alone.
