Your reviews on 3D printed blasters are especially valuable because of your experience from running the company.
I think what's unique about your channel is that you bring a type of James Bond Q-esque vibe. The team is always tinkering in the HQ and the video production is super HQ.

  • @Daemonseele

You're not wrong about the cyberpunk feel because the blaster is modeled directly from one of the guns in Cyberpunk 2077, the "Lizzie" which is an Iconic version of the M-76E Omaha tech pistol.
I particularly like the Gecko for its aesthetic feel. Sure, the Zinc and the Scamp outperforms it quite a bit, but with it's lower fps, it makes it a viable choice for lower-end games like HvZ.
Note: I haven't used my Gecko at an HvZ, or any games, yet due to the obvious lack-of-games reasons. Looking forwards to Ragnarocktoberfest 2022!

Big fan of the content you make outside of reviews, and as much as I think that format is greatly popular it’s also a saturated market. Other styles of video for this hobby are much needed, especially from a creator with as much attention to detail and production value as yourself or Captain Xavier.

I like your reviews, but I also really enjoy your other content, especially the mod guides. I like the way you have it now where you don’t go out of your way to do reviews, but do them for blasters that are sent to you or (at least it feels like) for things that need to be said (e.g.: pointing out the failings of Elite 2.0 and Ultra). We already have people who do reviews on basically everything that comes out (which we do need) but it’s also nice to have people who are more selective in their review content because we have more voices on the things that I think the community really focuses on (i.e.: community blasters and competitive commercial offerings). In short, I like the way you have your content balanced right now and I think it’s for the better that it stays that way.

Kinda late to the question on "Should we keep doing reviews?" but personally, I love these reviews. Regarding your amazement at the sudden explosion of competitive side-arm pistols in the nerf hobby; I think we, no-lie, have Covid-19 and Dart Zone to thank for it.
Dart Zone put short darts and affordable blasters that fire them in walmart, thus making both things mainstream. This made designing blasters that solely fire short darts a much more fruitful endeavor if selling the blaster/parts/files was a goal.
Covid-19 kept us all indoors and looking for things to do. This allowed many people to give a lot of time to projects they otherwise might not have, such as designing a 3d print compact nerf blaster unlike anything Hasbro has.
With those two things happening at once, it's no surprise that pistol designs that would never have worked in a standard dart ecosystem are on the rise.

I think you should keep doing reviews. Coop is great, but he does basically no printed blasters, and Drac's reviews are mediocre in my opinion. Captain Xavier and Walcom are good, but your quality as a functioning business makes your reviews nicer to watch. Out of Darts is normally the first channel I go to for reviews. I like all the content including reviews. A suggestion may be to limit reviews of new commercially available stock blasters. I can watch a dozen reviews on the new Foamco Whizbang and, as you run a customization shop, I want to see your review of what you do to it more so than just confirming what the others have already said. Doesn't have to be much - could be something as basic as a hop-up part for the new Hyper stuff or a better aesthetics kit for BlasterX or up to a full mod of something.
Reviews of community blasters are always appreciated as those are not always easy to find and not all reviews are unbiased like yours appear to be.

As far as content goes I believe you should definately keep reviewing community developed blasters (others if you so desire). This will keep you noticably involved with the makers which isn’t only a reflection of the reality of how you work, but also smart from a marketing perspective. It keeps you ‘one of us’ and ‘one for us’.... if that makes sense :-)

It is effectively a 1 to 1 creation of the miltech Omaha from cyberpunk. A lot of people say it's based on the Lizzie, and maybe that's what the creator intends but...the Lizzie is a shotgun pistol and uses the same model as the Omaha, so while the name is a neat reference I feel like saying it's based off the Lizzie seems intellectually dishonest to me.
Edit: even the name is stretch imo, Lizzie just refers to Lizzie Wizzie. There's literally no lizard related reference whatsoever lol. Don't get me wrong, Gecko is a good name, but I feel like people are really getting their wires crossed here haha.

This channels review content is a welcome sidestep from most others. Your positioning in the community as both an experienced designer and an effective distributor give your words and opinions a weight not felt as heavily in others. Your methods seem to be a bit more strict and less led by personal enthusiasm. You are also contentious that said personal enthusiasm can be a selling point in-and-of itself. Personally, I value these looks quite a bit, as I do the mod guides.
So, in short, yes. To all of it. Just make more content, its good. All of it.

Doing reviews keeps it a nice mix of content. Given price points the 3d printed ones might not sell in huge numbers but they help give a direction for the hobby. We can see DartZone and others looking at hobbyist and incorporating those ideas into their products. So even for folks that might not buy or build their own blaster it should be interesting point of conversation as to where the hobby might go next.
As for the Gecko its inspired by a specific gun in a quest line in CypberPunk 2077. Your cyberpunk vibes were spot on.
The barrel was originally supposed to be the length as you see. Then after a lot of testing and iteration they found better performance from a shorter barrel. As they liked the 'look' of the full length barrel the ports kept the look but achieved the performance of the shorter barrel. There are some great videos over at Rainbow Circus from Germany that worked with ehdrian on the refinements. Rainbow Circus sells completes as well as kits and parts.
ua-cam.com/video/8_P8-JUKuuc/v-deo.html He also publishes tweaks to thingiverse. So while the original STLs are pay many of the alternate parts aren't. For examples they have alternative magazine catches some with releases.

I like your reviews, but I also like your mod guides. I do think some sort of balance needs to be struck. I don't know where that balance is though.

Has anyone printed blasters from resin. What modern 3d printer makes strongest plastic?

I would maybe vet your reviews and alternate between reviews and mod guides because both of which you do are amazing.
