Thanks! I look forward to your future videos. I grew up a Southern Baptist, but became disenchanted with the theology of that tradition around the age of 11. I started to read and explore the teachings of Buddhism and Taoism around the same time. Eventually I ended up fully immersed in the Yoga tradition. I am a Yoga instructor to this day. However, over the past two years, I have discovered the tradition of Christian mysticism. I resonate much more with the writings of Meister Eckhart and Teresa of Avila and other European mystics than with the writings of Yoga. I am so happy to have rediscovered my Christian roots in an entirely new light. I continue to practice Yoga and meditation, but I have added the practice of contemplative prayer to my spiritual discipline. Also, instead of reading passages from the Bhagavad Gita, I now prefer passages from the Christian mystics to find inspiration. Keep up the good work!
Mystical experience is apparently fairly universal and exists across many different cultures. I'm of Jewish ancestry and have recently discovered Isaac Luria and Abulafia, who were Jewish mystics that had a fair bit of influence on modern judaism.
One of the most beloved books I have read is 'Autobiography of a Yogi' by the guy who you have in your profile picture. The yogic path to enlightment is a wonderfdul and wholistic one. hatha yoga, pranayama, kundalini...all fascinating.
Hil this is just what the doctor ordered to have so many area s of growth avaiable in this one place. its a wonerful opportunity. thank you for your efforts.
This study may not fast-track you path to God - a statement made by this honest man. I am surprised there are not more "Likes" given for this enlightening lesson provided by such a knowledgeable and eloquent speaker.
Good Morning, I believe that God calls each person to the place they are intended to be. It happens over a life time and perhaps more. I didn't realize until just now, I have been following the path to Christian Mysticism my entire life. Even as a Child, however we walk in ignorance. God says, "Go to the place I will show you".. that is a deep clump of words. I never read a book, went to a retreat, or anything that spoke of the Mystics in any real way. I honestly didn't know what it was or what it meant. It wasn't part of my conversation. Nonetheless, I had an inner knowing that I used to question the church's I attended throughout my life...not they were false, just I knew there was something more to it..but I had nothing to back up what I was saying. Just recently, this information of Mystics was laid before me and I was shocked to know that my beliefs were the same as so many others.. for so many years. We don't chose God.. He chooses us.. just like the scriptures say. I had absolutely no idea that what was going on inside of me was a much larger thing all of this time. Thank You
I’m intrigued, I feel I’m called to heal and I resonate deeply with a Christian mystic today, Lorna Byrne. So I’m interested to learn more, I know Jesus is with me. He rescued me and has stayed with me ever since. Looking forward to exploring if this can help me to better serve others and in a way that also serves me. Something else Jesus has taught me, how to love myself, so I can love others & be of service. Thank you xx
I'm not a nun or a priest.Im a regular person but because I consecrated myself to god,I pray a lot, the devin mercy at 3pm,full rosary everyday, I confess and fast, and offer my suffering, I became humble, I teach and post christian posts on social media, etc...I feel like my lord is taking me on this path. I am no longer sexually active! I'm in a relationship with a much older man, but no sex is involved. I meditate everyday and pray for the world everyday. I hear feel and see visions and dreams.
I just found your channel and then you spoke about Dostoevsky, and I’m hooked! Couldn’t agree more, his works are all a great defense for religion and Christianity. One of the greatest literary minds certainly. Thank you for creating this content that is accessible to so many.
Just what I'm looking for. Hoping to let Jesus out of the box of religion and hear my late life calling as well as live into God's will for me as a husband father friend provider. Thank you for your work here.
Christianity this days is so watered down. Abstract without a clear path to total union with god. I've grown more spiritually by sitting in silence than listening to church sermons. 2 years ago at a service a very prominent pastor at Gwinnett church in Georgia said to the congregation to keep it any outburst of emotion at home. He did not want any one at the mega church to express emotions in the form of a loud cry during the service. In my inner exploration crying when touched by the spirit should be ok but at that church is viewed as a disturbance to what seems a culture of a repress in public and display in the closet. They place more importance to the sermon than allowing the power of the spirit to move. Church is in a wealthy suburb. Thank you spirit of god for removing the veil and allowing me to seek you beyond my senses .
I just found this chanel. I had a spital awakening ,I hope this chanel will help me to understand what is going on with my life and body because I need answers. Thank you
A mystic will never call themselfs a mystic. You can only learn from god alone . Pure intuition .You cannot learn from anyone .God just re claims you theough your brokeness and your faith explicitly in him
Great introduction to a field of inquiry that, quite literally, has no margins! Even as a guy with a master's degree in spiritual formation, I know less now than ever before. Thanks for that welcome reminder and accompanying invitation to keep my head a little longer under this nourishing water!
Very engaging and thought provoking introduction! I'm interested in transforming our culture to be earth/life centered, in an ecological theology in the spirit of Thomas Berry. I think mysticism can help me recover a sense of divinity in nature that has been stripped out of our dualistic cartesian materialistic economic system hell-bent on converting nature into wealth. Anthropocentric selfishness and narcissism is a sure path to destabilizing a healthy earth system that is life generating. I find the contemplative path of resting in knowledge beyond information to be easier than straight meditation of concentrating on emptiness or concentrating on the breath. Look forward to other videos.
Many thanks. Gosh, I don’t know how it would impact, just that it simply seems like part of the next steps that I need to take and have been looking and praying for. Certainly you ask all the rights questions here to ponder re finding a focal point (even if it leads me somewhere unexpected, perhaps especially if it leads me somewhere unexpected) on how to continue along the mystic experience and pathway in my life, for both myself and in relationship to others. God bless 🙏
How to put it into practice ? Only a few should consider themselves disciples. Most need a lifetime journey just expanding on that first revelation and Pray they just stay on the path' (to only preach and not practice is to never even start to try and drop away from the EGO)
Hi Angela, as we undergo a change in staff, we are moving the entire course month over month onto UA-cam, so you can already access the first several lectures on our channel with more to be added.
I'm a Christian Mystic of the Apostolic Faith. Acts 2:38. Love your teaching on the Mystics. May GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR MINISTRY‼️🙏✝️😇

Beautiful! This sheds a light on the path, the way, listening to the still small voice...
Want to learn more. I don't feel filled at my church

Thank-you for your service. Thanks to you and many another Teacher, I can see My Self in a clearer fashion. Thanks again, "I Send You Love".

Hi! I do not know how they will impact me, but for sure they will. Welcome God's words, welcome those who have welcomed them before you.
This is the right approach.

Describing "Mystic"...yes, direct lover and Beloved as one, AND, abstract where union defies definition...
Great :)
Green light ahead, Covid yielding to a new age.

Only a few should consider themselves disciples.

I would like to speak to you
