- "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" (German for "Hail to Thee in the Victor's Crown", literally: "Hail to Thee in the Victor's Wreath") was the Kaiserhymne (imperial anthem) of the German Empire from 1871 to 1918 and royal anthem of Prussia from 1795 to 1918.
Before the foundation of the Empire in 1871, it had been the royal anthem of Prussia since 1795 and remained it after 1871. The melody of the hymn derived from the British anthem "God Save the King". For these reasons, the song failed to become popular within all of Germany. Not only did it fail to win the support of most German nationalists, but it also was never recognized by the southern German states, such as Bavaria or Württemberg. At the near end of World War I, the German Empire was overthrown and "Das Lied der Deutschen" was adopted as the national anthem of its successor, the Weimar Republic.
It is often called the official national anthem of the German Empire.
However the German Empire never had an official anthem like the Weimar Republic or the Federal Republic of Germany (Lied der Deutschen). Together with "Die Wacht am Rhein" both songs had the status of unofficial national anthems.

Good morning/afternoon/evening (depending on your timezone) to everyone here. Probably you noticed that I stopped posting videos during the last three / four months and during said period I wasn't online. I'm sorry this happened, but I had serious health problems. Bad stuff happened and I didn't have both the time and the energies to keep up the uploads and so on. At one point I was about to delete everything, because I thought this channel made me feel too anxious, but actually that's neither fair nor true. Now I feel better, two months ago i was allowed to go back home from the hospital, but still I felt a lot of stress and I thought it was better to not turn on the devices. Now, finally I'm far more calm and I think I can get back to do what I used to do before this big mess happened. I would like to start posting videos again, although I would prefer to post less frequently without the rigid schedule I was using before. Maybe one day I'll start posting again as often as I used to do, but for now I prefer to be more relaxed. Today I made this video, I hope you'll like it and that the quality didn't drop that much...
Hopefully you can understand me and if you're bothered... I'm really sorry. I don't ask to be forgiven for my absence, since it was my responsibility.
