Whenever I listen to this song, I immediately feel sad and sympathy for Francis II. The Holy Roman Empire didn’t need to collapse, and I don’t agree with Nepoleon dethroning an innocent guy at age only 24. Who could have made Germany great.
Blame his ancestors, Germany was weak under Habsburg leadership from the early 1600s to the early 1800s and numerous defections and foreign invasions happened. Remember the Habsburgs were given Germany again in 1815, and they still lost it all to Prussia (a former German imperial tail, now grown into an independent dog) besides their crown lands in 1867/71
@@TheLocalLt people like you say if leader is iron handed he is a tyrant and the person who rules with light touch and gives autonomy to his subjects is a weak monarch.. problem was that Austrian army used obsolete tactics which led to defeats in battlefield and the holy Roman Empire collapsing
@@rathinmajumder441 I’m not sure whether the Habsburg emperors were too heavy handed or too light handed towards their fiefs (the granting of which you could argue had been in itself too light handed, though standard at the time), because in one sense the reformation wars and thirty years war were caused by imperial heavy handedness, however being more light handed after these wars caused each duchy and Kingdom of the empire to act near-independent and eventually allowed for them to join Prussia in a new empire. So really once the reformation started the Habsburgs were at first too heavy handed, causing the wars, but then later being forced by the Treaty of Westphalia and the Congress of Vienna to be too light handed (these treaties granted religious freedom and limited sovereignty to all German Imperial duchies and kingdoms, limiting the Habsburgs power in their own realm). Youre right though, had the Empire won these wars, and the Habsburgs successfully reinstated Catholicism throughout Germany, history could have turned out completely different.
@@TheLocalLt well yes at the beginning they were ironhanded but soon they recognised they can rely upon other German States for help during war and started to rule with a light touch within the Austrian Empire.. although to be exact in Austria-Hungary when Franz Josef opened his arms to the people of his empire to gain the support of the elite in their multi ethnic Empire..those defeats did bring end to the holy Roman Empire and WW1 brought the end of the Habsburg Empire but I still believe hadn't Franz Josef died.. although if the outcome of the war wouldn't change drastically the Habsburg Empire would have still existed as the people in his Empire owed their rights to him and many saw loyalty to the Empire with Loyalty to Franz Josef

This melody is from the Second Movement of String Quartet no. 62 (The Emperor Quartet)in C major by Franz Joseph Haydn. It has such a delicate softness and nobility performed instrumentally. Unfortunately, the melody got usurped and used by Hoffmann von Fallersleben in “Deutschland, Deutschland Über Alles,“ and became the national anthem of those German states which are now in Germany. I always however associate it with Austria and the Habsburg Emperors. It really belongs to Austria. At the same time, I also appreciate Austria’s National Anthem, “Land der Berge, Land am Strome.” It’s really beautiful, but in my heart I feel a longing for that original Kaiserhymne by Haydn.
As an Austrian, I believe this got me into tears, I cannot believe it. I feel so sad hearing this, Cause most of the empires in the 1730s, Are very poor sadly, I will not forget this moment, Thank you so much for involving me to this, Keep up the good uploads of Austro-German Imperial Anthems! :D

Säulen seines Throns sind Milde, Biedersinn und Redlichkeit. Und von seinem Wappenschilde Strahlet die Gerechtigkeit. Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser, unsern guten Kaiser Franz! 3. Well America and the other allies forced them to sign the treaty of Saint-Germain which lead to the dissolution of the monarchy. But I agree, there was a certain prestige associated with Austria-Hungary.
Things would've been better for them if they were allowed to join Germany from the start, but the hypocritical scumbag Allies stopped them from doing this. Better for Austria to become a large German Länder than an independent shell of its former self.
Irrtum! Das stimmt so nicht "and can only be Remember in Histor" ist eine katastrophale Fehldiagnose. Error! The claim "and can only be Remember in Histor" is a catastrophic misdiagnosis. The Empire of the Habsburgs continues to have an effect to this day. Even if the uneducated may not recognize this. After the fall of the "Imperium Romanum" we were the first united Europe. This may not fit into the concept of those who propagate Europe today, out of pure greed for profit, as their own invention. However, the experience of my life teaches me that the true Europeans of our day - the Europeans out of insight and conviction, not out of greed for profit - are usually the descendants and successors of the Habsburg Empire. I am a European out of insight and conviction, because my ancestors were brought up for centuries in this Habsburg Empire in a humane and humanistic and above all tolerant way. I love this continent in all its diversity, in all its contrasts and the greatness and beauty that has arisen from this diversity, these opposites, because this diversity has always been a matter of course for us.

I love this song!! May Gott keep the Kaiser Franz's soul!
Remember the Habsburgs were given Germany again in 1815, and they still lost it all to Prussia (a former German imperial tail, now grown into an independent dog) besides their crown lands in 1867/71
@@TheLocalLt The Germans were fighting themselves most times.

I think it's so wonderful when a "Salvatore de Valeriani" calls himself "a Austrian". All attempts at re-education by the nationalists in the countries of the former Habsburg monarchy have not quite achieved the success desired by the nationalists. The BEST 💎"Kaiserhymne " and Video!!!🇦🇹👑🇩🇪💐 BRAVO!!!🌹Thank you very much 💓Dr. Ludwig!
Eine wunderschöne Hymne. Es lebe Österreich-Ungarn. Grüße aus Polen.
This song was also used for Franz Joseph I, Francis' grandson, before Austria-Hungary united in 1868.
Better than the USSR anthem
Leider stimmen die Lyrics immer noch nicht
Hier nochmal die richtigen:
1. Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser,
unsern guten Kaiser Franz!
Hoch als Herrscher, hoch als Weiser
steht er in des Ruhmes Glanz.
Liebe windet Lorbeerreiser
ihm zu ewig grünem Kranz.
Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser,
unsern guten Kaiser Franz!
2. Über blühende Gefilde
reicht sein Zepter weit und breit.
Säulen seines Throns sind Milde,
Biedersinn und Redlichkeit.
Und von seinem Wappenschilde
Strahlet die Gerechtigkeit.
Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser,
unsern guten Kaiser Franz!
3. Sich mit Tugenden zu schmücken,
achtet er der Sorgen wert.
Nicht, um Völker zu erdrücken,
flammt in seiner Hand das Schwert;
sie zu segnen, zu beglücken,
ist der Preis, den er begehrt.
Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser,
unsern guten Kaiser Franz!
4. Er zerbrach der Knechtschaft Bande,
hob zur Freiheit uns empor.
Früh erleb’ er deutscher Lande,
deutscher Völker höchsten Flor
und vernehme noch am Rande
später Gruft der Enkel Chor:
Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser,
unsern guten Kaiser Franz!

May sprigs of laurel bloom for him,
A garland of honor wherever he goes!
Chorus:
God save Francis, the Emperor!

From the tips of his flag,
Victory and fruitfulness shine!
Upon his council,
May knowledge and justice sit!

(Chorus)
May the abundance of thy gifts, o Lord

Break the power of the wicked,
Every trick of rogues and knaves,
May thy law be his will,
And his will, like laws to us!
(Chorus)
May he gladly experience the highest bloom
Of his land and of his peoples!
May he see them, united by the bonds of brothers,
Loom over all others!
And may he hear at the edge
Of his late tomb his grandchildren's chorus.

Man I think Austria lost something special when they got rid of their monarchy, they lost that certain prestige that their nation once had in terms of culture, military honors, and arts
Love Austria from America btw!

Well America and the other allies forced them to sign the treaty of Saint-Germain which lead to the dissolution of the monarchy.
But I agree, there was a certain prestige associated with Austria-Hungary.
Well for the Austrians Democracy was something new and at that time it was something special, something exciting.
Things would've been better for them if they were allowed to join Germany from the start, but the hypocritical scumbag Allies stopped them from doing this. Better for Austria to become a large German Länder than an independent shell of its former self.

People back then know Austria as the Great Power of Europe.. but now, the the Empire is Lost, and can only be Remember in History..
