Vancouver= 24X, Toronto= 20X, Saskatoon = 6X average income. It used to be that the most a person should spend for a house was 3 to 4 times the average income, so even 6X is double what it should be, but at least 6X is possible is you scrimp and save like crazy, while 20X or more is totally impossible unless you are a CEO of a major successful company.
Yes that or if you have a lot of people living in same home. I heard they just changed zoning in vancouver for back yard suites so see if that will help but saskatoon is definitely a viable alternative for now anyway

Nice and educative. Here, it is clearly established that the population of Sask. is increasing due to influx from other provinces and externally (from outside Canada). This explains the high population rate which will just lead to increased demand for housing. Chris, you also pointed out that most people from outside Sask. are getting involved in Sask. real estate purchases. I guess with the steady increase in population, the demand for housing will also increase. Overall, real estate cost is most likely to keep rising in the nearest future.

Canada's overall prices make no sense. It's cheaper in Saskatchewan because there is no international airport...no real geographic sights that aren't everywhere else in Canada....all the big concerts and events fly right over us...people are weird and somewhat miserable and intolerant. Everything is 80 years old. I was born and raised here in Saskatoon and understand why van, tor, and Montreal cost more. I thought that was common sense? B.C. you pay for the weather partially.

6X your income!! That’s so ridiculous! Buying a house should 2X and maybe maybe 3X your income! Prices are way over priced!! May I remind you that it gets to be -50 here in the winter. Saskatchewan should be 2X your income. This real estate market is way over valued!

I totally disagree , I have never seen such horrible landlords as in saskatchewan ! Landlords jackup the prices close to university semester taking advantage on students (people who struggle with groceries ) , I had landlords asking for my SIN number as condition of giving me rentals ! overall I didn't expect saskatoon be this bad , especially I moved from beautiful BC

Residential real estate in Saskatchewan is hilarious! And I would not be proud to earn money of residential real estate... Housing isnt a luxury...especially with how many people are sleeping outside. Luxury homes is the only place to feel a sense of pride. Selling shit 60 - 80 year old homes for hundreds of thousands of dollars should be criminal.
