On an AR15 at least, the bolt locks open when you're empty, so having a clue when you need to consider pro-active reloads is helpful. Most AKs don't have last round bolt hold opens, so without a visual clue that you're out or almost out...well. Click no bang isn't anyone's idea of a good time.

Interesting thing I've noticed about suppression in Tarkov... it works OKAY for actually keeping the enemy in cover and afraid... but more than anything, it creates a f*ck ton of NOISE that confuses your enemy and floods their hearing, allowing your teammates to move up and push, and preventing the enemy from communicating effectively because they quite literally can't hear anything. It's best when the person doing the suppressing has a loud gun instead of suppressed for this reason. It sucks that people don't play Tarkov like a squad/team based game anymore and just run around like its COD. Also fun fact: the "suppression effect" in tarkov with the bullet cracking and screen blur ONLY OCCURS on the first shot. So if you really want to properly "suppress" someone, do it in very short bursts, or spam semi-auto.

    • @UEemperor
      @UEemperor 4 місяці тому +30

      DUDE! YES!
So many people miss the point of what suppression (as a real life concept into a game) ACTUALLY is.
Suppression is not blurry vision/bullshit forced mechanics, it is that pure as simple threat of "if you peek, you are dead".
I dont even need the volume karma's team had here to suppress a target. All i need is a few well placed shots and their heads are gonna be kept where i want them to be.
(Organised) Team raids in tarkov are the best.

"But what if you could get a squad on the same page?"
Ive been doing that EXCLUSIVELY for my entire tarkov "career", and any other games i play with my unit, to incredible success. (got vids to prove it)
I can 100% guarrantee that if you setup a proper mindset, there is nothing like it.
The level of collective fun while playing, elation when everyone survives, as well as the bonding that comes from it is on a completely different scale.
And im not even talking about its effectiveness rn, just the sheer fun. If you add tactics/effectiveness/efficiency to it, it gets even better.
BUT you need to want to invest some time to develop that team mindset.
Either way, excellent vid, simply cuz of wanting more out of tarkov.

the guys i have been playing with for the last few years all seem to have ADHD and can play it slow. usually we are playing like a bunch of solo's and collapse when someone dies to get their stuff.
When i play solo I take it much slower but when the boys are on we just pop some stims and get in there, whoever survives, survives and its on to the next raid.
Always thought it would be fun to play like this. and with the new map it seems if you W-key you just die which is a complete counterplay to my squads cohesion

I've thought about making a video showing how much harder it is to play in a team effectively vs sprinting around, bhopping and holding down the Lmouse button with no ADS but It's hard to address these issues in tactical FPS with out sounding snobbish or a LARPer.

I can imagine, gmaeplay wise, its gets extremly expensive to utilize supression and flanking strategies in this game. Especially if your using PKP/Drum fed guns. Might be implied but it seems you wouldnt be running to much expensive ammo often, or youd have to be deliberatly loading your mags with alternating ammo types xD i.e. tracers, AP, Cheap ball.

    • @UEemperor
      @UEemperor 4 місяці тому +9

Thats the biggest issue i see here.
I do the same thing karma does with my unit, but i dont rely on suppression as it can ruin my pockets.
Which is why im of the opinion that REGULAR INFANTRY COMBAT doctrines do not apply well to tarkov.
You dont get "free resupplies" or "support" to keep spraying like that.
So what we do is we tend to favour positioning, well placed shots to keep heads down (aka the "marksman suppression") and flanking to overcome opposition.
But generally speaking, suppression/covering each other/violence of action/communication SHOULD be the cornerstones of every team.

Completely agree.. new PC gamer. New tarkov player.. spent 95% playing solo, had a couple of games with a guy from discord and it's so much better with someone else. The support. The knowledge. So much better

This is my friends and myself. We communicate very well, and usually know what sort of moves each other will make due to playing FPS and tactical shooters for such a long time together. FF does happen sometimes and sometimes breakdowns in comms, but rolling in a squad we tend to do extremely well. It definitely matters if you have a synergy with your team.

The key thing I'm trying to get my squad to understand is that we need to rapidly spread out and surround the enemy and get info on where they are.
At the moment they group up on the same angle, or they push straight into crossfire. A pincer maneuver should be the go to every time. Approach as a stack, but split off left and right when contact is made.

100% agree. Started doing this MANY wipes ago. Find 2 other people and just play with them over and over and over. We did so well by the second wipe of doing this. Gear fear virtually went away and everything was so very calm. Even when playing with other groups, you could tell the difference. We are very calm playing now. You'll hear other dudes yell out like "GUY RUNNING BY THE TREE" and just freaking out when they see someone. Whereas our crew just calmly mention his position and then you hear "copy" - "copy". "Target acquired." "Got him" - " Shot in 3, 2, 1."
It's AMAZING to have a crew you can rely on.

    • @UEemperor

      100%
I play exclusively with my unit, and i cannot play with anyone else. The amount of coordination and tactics based teamplay we got is just something i can never find with randoms.
And when you find other coordinated teams to vs against, its a dream!

The amount of maintenance that goes into running a squad in Tarkov is enormous... the amount of effort that needs to go into communication, keeping track of audio queues and identify which audio is friendly and which non-friendly, teammate positions, not caring about your dead friend waiting in the menu.. your friends yapping a bunch of non-sense.. not hesitating to shoot when you see a player thinking maybe he is friendly.. also this game has no top screen compass.. (only one that you can pull out - useless) .. to keep in sync with all of this means you are going to be traveling very slowly to ensure you are on top of awareness... this drastically becomes much more complicated inside buildings or multi floors and close quarters.. most of your footage here is in the open, outside and at distance.. lots of bullets flying "suppressive fire" uhh ok i guess... what i dont see much of here is actual game sk... you know really ski.. i cant say it.. you know things like.. movement, peaking, aiming, recoil control, hold breath, crouch at distance.etc.etc.etc... skill.. oh shit i said it.. props for awareness though because no friendlies died.. well not in the video atleast.
I still think the skilled solo player will wipe your whole squad (e.g. someone like Tigz or Glorious).. simply because they dont need to care about all the above.. the enemies in this vid had brainpower of a Bot... picture this right.. simple example.. the skilled solo player yeets 8 grenades towards your squad.. while everyone is ducking for cover the solo rotates and vanishes.. you dont know where your team ducked too.. now it becomes a trust issues and hesitations.. who is who.. million communications over the mic where everyone is at.. is this you? this is where your trouble starts... put Tigz at the end of the barrel and RIP squad.
I guess this is what BSG hoped Tarkov would be like...
But by design having teammates are not very efficient...
with each additional teammate this headache is exponential.
This is just the reality of it.
This is a video.. so obviously edited and this is only the good bits..
I gave your video a thumbs Up though.. its cool to watch.. like a Tarkov movie.. unfortunately this is not the reality.

5:16 the call to ‘push it’ as last man and not knowing the situation ahead was the wrong call. Just for the sake of getting out of the stairwell, especially since you had it locked down with a 4 man team and both choke points covered. A minute of patience there might have saved your teammate. But seriously good squad play overall.
