"It’s part of the treatment to bring back bad memories from your past and learn to control those memories. Amygdala was a time being able to organize all the things that have made me me"
the song really broke my heart
I think it broke a lot of peoples' hearts.
BTS 💜💜💜 Run 2
maybe the end represents that the scars you have will always be there, even if you sort yourself out the things you lived through don't just disappear and never bother you again. the memories, the pain will always come back after some time. it's the readiness to face it that differentiates you from who you were before
I can definitely see that. Thank you.
that scarred version on himself, the hurt part of him that he locked up to endure all the pain in his life became the agust d persona that was the one taking hits, the i-dont-care one that can take it all and shig it off with a smirk. we were always taking the scarred king/boss as an evil side that deserved the punishment, but in reality they were those who needed to be saved the most
Very good point.
Agree 💯👍
i also think about is as the first bast choice i wasn't given opportunity to make, the second best choice i couldn't make because of the circumstances or something, so the third best choice is where i landed which is... rarely that good of a choice at this point
Very interesting. Thank you.
Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years. So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the making video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D.
He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing.
He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in that video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?)
In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet. Thank you for the reaction.
Thank you for the great reply. Great to hear from someone who has watched the behind the scenes content.
@@kpopauntie I love their behind the scenes content. I always have to break it down and analyze their songs when they're this deep. When he said it's a trilogy and he wanted us to watch them in order, I paid attention. He is so good at telling us what's going on with him and giving us the straightforward message. With RM, sometimes it's harder to interpret because he is a poet and wants us to think deeply about stuff. Anyway, I enjoy it a lot, and their are a lot of explanations and breakdowns by ARMY's. I enjoy hearing different theories and perspectives. Thank you 💜
@@tracydowd4013 think you 💜💜💜
I enjoyed your reaction. Thank you.
Lotus flowers often grow in muddy water - so its beauty growing out of something “ugly” /dirty.
Thank you for watching with me.
In iconography the Buddha appears sitting in a lotus flower. I believe its supposed to be a symbol for enlightenment.
I forgot about that. Thank you.
First, sorry for the multiple comments. I started commenting before you finished and i should have waited until the end!
The amygdala is a small almond shaped structure in the brain which is believed to process fearful and threatening stimuli. (There are a couple of scenes of Suga sitting and eating something which we find out in the ‘making of’ video are almonds - so, he could be eating his own fear?). To me this video represents Suga trying to escape his fear and his traumatic memories but since they are inside his brain he cannot escape them - he has to face them. Some additional background: Suga has recently said (i don’t remember where, so maybe double check what I’m about to say) that his mother had heart surgery just before he was born - that adds a layer onto his line about listening to his mother’s heartbeat before being born.
Anyway, like I said in my first comment, I enjoyed your reaction. Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video.
No worries on multiple comments. I read them all. I hadn't noticed Suga eating the almonds. Thank you.
