Good lord, starting your bts journey with Amygdala was…definetly a painful choice.. are you okay girl? Just so you know, Yoongi’s solo songs are always very raw and honest. He talks a lot about mental health and society in general. If you are up to cheking out more bts, welcome! They are lovely and extremely talented people
One think you should know about bts is that they are autonomous and have their creative control. They write their own lyrics and produce and co produce their songs. They also chose how they promote their solo projects. Suga even storyboarded these MVs! Their label Bighit music (not Hybe, part of Hybe) always priroritized bts' self expression insead of forcing them into concepts. So you can expect a lot of the members involvement and rawness. Hope you'll like your bts journey.
You also need to check out "Daechwita"... it's the first part of the trilogy with "Haegeum" and "Amygdala". Also, "Amygdala" is autobiographical. He worked as a delivery person while a trainee to pay for his college tuition and was hit by a car and severely messed up his soldier. He hid it from Big Hit because he was afraid they'd cut him. When he finally told them, they made him quit that job and paid for his school. He FINALLY had surgery on his shoulder in 2020. The amygdala is an almond shaped part of the brain the processes fear and trauma. "Daechwita" is a traditional style of Korean music that would be played when the King/Emperor or royal military where coming through to let the commoners know. He uses traditional Korean instrument, one of which is a two stringed instrument called a 'heageum', which is also a Korean word for allowing or unlocking something that was forbidden. You can also hear the haegeum being played through the song "Haegeum". Yoongi described the King version of himself in "Daechwita" as a younger, greedier, more immature version of himself while the commoner version as his present (at that time) more humble, grateful, and mature version. There are A LOT of parallels between the two; Yoongi said he started planning this trilogy three years ago (when he released the mix-tape D-2) and already had a rough storyboard for "Haegeum" right after "Daechwita". Nothing BTS or the individual members ever do is surface level; there is ALWAYS a greater meaning and multiple interpretations. He is currently playing is first ever solo concert/tour in New York... literally as I'm typing this. He'll be in Chicago next week and I'll be at all three shows! @_@
Hey, army there! For a better understanding I'm going to give you some more info: Agust D is SUGA from BTS' alter-ego. His name is Min Yoongi and he's a lead rapper and the main producer in BTS. He also produced for other artists and companies (IU, Suran, Halsey, Samsung, etc). He's also the 2nd oldest (1993) He has released three solo albums as a trilogy: Agust D(2016), D-2(2020) and D-Day(last week). Amygdala and Haegeum are both part of the latest one. With Daechwita from D-2 they form a storyline that should be watched in the said order: Daechwita>Haegeum>Amygdala Haegeum means to lift a ban and is also the name of a traditional Korean instrument. Amygdala is the part of the brain in charge of emotional process and responses, often associated with trauma, fear and memory. In this song , wether it's the lyrics or the MV, Yoongi is telling his life story especially his struggles with depression, Self-Harm/s**cide, the motorcycle accident which crushed his shoulder, his parents health issues and all his traumas basically. His motorcycle accident happened while he was working part time as a delivery man (he was broke in the first place coming from the underground rap scene, and BTS and their label were very small and struggled a lot financially at the time). It crushed his shoulder (it fell out), but since he was scared to get kicked out of the team he attempted to hide it from the label. But they found out and were actually extremely concerned and instead took care of everything and even started paying his college fees so that he wouldn't have to work anymore even if they were close to bankruptcy .
And finally a little intro to BTS: Stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boyscouts). They debuted on the 12th of June 2013 and were formed by producer Bang Shi-Hyuk (a huge music passionate). They're under Big Hit Music (formerly Big Hit Entertainment, now a subsidiary of Hybe) an independent company. The company has artistic freedom at its core and the members were completely involved in their artistry since the beginning (whether it's producing, composing, writing, inputs/initiatives and also control for choreos and MVs). Rappers: RM ( leader, main rapper, and main songwriter, composer, producer, Kim Namjoon), suga (you already know) j-hope (Jung Hoseok, also sub-vocalist, dance leader, main dancer, songwriter, composer, producer) Vocalists: Jin (Kim Seokjin, main visual, songwriter, composer, producer) Jimin (Park Jimin, main dancer, lead vocalist, producer, songwriter, composer) V(Kim Taehyung, lead vocalist, lead dancer, producer, songwriter, actor) Jungkook (Jeong Jungkook, main vocalist, center, lead dancer, songwriter, composer, producer) who is the Maknae They struggled a lot financially back then, went close to bankruptcy, and had to share a single room for everyone, recording in a garage and practicing in the basement of a restaurant. They got tons of hate firstly domestically for being kind of the odd ones (a hiphop group who becomes an idol group, being rejected both by the kpop community and the rap scene, coming from a small agency with no support and somehow succeeding>jealousy basically). Then internationally for reasons you can probably guess: xenophobia and the infantilization of Asian artists. Their music revolves around mental health and self love. They're originally a hiphop group but now they do every genres: Hiphop/rap(Ugh, Tear, etc) Latin Pop(Airplane PT 2) Soul (singularity) RnB (my time) Jazz, ballads, disco, EDM, etc.
I liked how honest you were! To be honest, I also only knew BTS' name and popularity and I saw one video and since then I was down the rabbit hole. And so often I regretted not getting into them earlier and not giving them a chance earlier. But ARMY always says you get to BTS at a time where you need them :)
Also Suga aka Yoongi did say that “the day you found us/discover us (or started following) is the day you debut with BTS. So you don’t need to be sad or feel sorry to not have been with us at the beginning.”
Girl, you won't know how much I cried listening BTS songs in general , the messages are always so deep🤧, and I think Amygdala was also a good example of how deep they can go with their lyrics.
Amygdala is yoongi’s own personal struggles. He’s suffered a lot with depression, ocd and social anxiety. He also had an accident when he was a trainee . Because he didn’t have money he delivered food and was hit by car. It wrecked his shoulder . He told the label he fell down the stairs because he was afraid of getting kicked out and he knew his family couldn’t pay for his education so he kept quiet about it. Suga’s music is very raw & real. He writes from the heart and from his experiences. He wants to comfort those that may be experiencing the same struggles. He produces , composes and writes . He’s incredible . But so is BTS
Omg what a start to get into them🤭. With the hardest video it takes any army (bts fans) to watch EVER, that just released a couple days ago😭(by now they’ve even put a trigger warning on it so people can be prepared 😬). Pro tip tho, more often than not don’t start with what’s newest because you’ll definitely be lost on a lot of context from previous songs/explanations etc. if you know what I mean haha😅 (at least when it comes to bts and they’re members because the depth and storytelling is out of this world). I think other armies must have explained the meaning of the MV and the song title already so I’ll only briefly speak on some things you should know. For one this is the last song and MV of a trilogy (haegeum being the second song and the first being a song called daewhcita). Altogether it’s supposed to tell a story (a deep mostly physiological one). So I highly suggest going back at some point and watching them all in the proper storyline order
Girl, one of their group songs which always really get me is Young Forever. It's an older one but it has an MV. Agust D/Suga/Min Yoongi is my bias, I love all his solo work and everything he does in BTS. These boys are a powerhouse of good music. Enjoy the ride! 💜💜💜
I was like you too... my kpop journey started with girl groups. BTS kept popping up and I would ignore. Until one day I succumbed to j-hope (one of the Bts rappers) and Becky g with Chicken Noodle Soup. His charisma was so enigmatic, I could NOT escape. I slowly fell in that rabbit hole and I'm never coming out. They have fun songs and deep songs. All genres and they are so fun and humble! I personally love their Korean songs more than the English ones. You should definitely check them out. As a group, Black Swan, Magic Shop, Mic Drop, On -Kinetic Manifesto, Fake Love❤, Blood, Sweat and Tears. There are soooo many good songs. If you go on this journey. I'll be watching 😊 with you!
Starting with amygdala… woof. You got a quick crash course of what he’s been through, he’s an incredibly strong person. If you want more recommendations hit me up! They have so many different genres so it’s hard to just recommend one haha
It also shocked me when i first got into them but theres actually a lot of bts songs and MVs that talk about suicide, self harm and dark themes like that. It still surprises me though how often their lyrics make me cry
I might be biased since I am a BTS stan - but BTS and their members are not like any other Boygroup. They are the definition of sincerity and authenticity in all that they do. You can see this from the debut right up till a decade later. Stanning BTS has been the best thing I have ever done, because they have provided me with so much artistry, musicality and comfort.
I'm so glad that you found that special connection with them, it's always amazing when you do. For me personally I found my connection like that with Dreamcatcher
Before any of that tho I fr think you should check out some songs with the full group being getting deeper into solos and all that surrounding content because trust me it’s a lot and often TOO much if you don’t take it step by step trust me. For starters, I’d like to suggest the songs “black swan”, ON KINETIC MANIFESTO FILM”, a “the truth untold live stage mix with lyrics” (this last one only has the vocal line members tho). These songs portray perfectly how wide their range of genres/ subject matters are so I hope you’ll like them😁💜
Thank you for commenting and watching- I'm getting so many recommendations- I've already filmed a Jimin solo reaction but I like your idea of watching more of the group stuff
you chose the heaviest song for your first time haha, nobody will blame you for getting a little emotional, lord knows i was sobbing too when i watched amygdala for the first time. you probably caught it, but it was a very personal song for him, everything he rapped about there had happened to him in the past. he's so strong and i admire him so much, he said himself that it was a very hard song to write for him. yoongi aka agust d has two mixtapes and one album so far, you should definitely check them out, whether on your own or here! "daechwita" from the d-2 mixtape is like a prequel to "haegeum" and also has an mv. however, it's less about "f capitalism" and more about "f the haters" lol. it's still a banger though, similar vibes. a song of his similar to "amygdala" would probably be "the last", at least with how personal it is. that one also makes me cry often but if you want to delve into bts overall and you liked "black swan", you'd probably enjoy "fake love", "life goes on" and "boy with luv". each has a different vibe but they're all very meaningful with gorgeous vocals. have fun exploring them!
So now you learned super fast Suga's life story. The whole group has amazing talents, different talents. The title of the first song is the part of your brain that holds past trauma, bad emotions. Haegeum is talking about what's forbidden. I hope you're OK this was a really rough introduction to Suga.
Such a fun reaction! I’m really glad you enjoyed Agust D / Suga! It was a rough way to start with the emotional slap (but also the hug) that is Amygdala but so glad it touched you. Suga is an amazing lyricist and he’s always a warm hug to me when I’m going through a tough time! I think your analysis of Haegeum with the two sides of himself was pretty spot on! He said in the making of Amygdala that we all make our own scars and that scar is an ongoing theme across 3 MVs (the other one you didn’t watch is his first one in this trilogy, Daechwita which I highly recommend). So much to unpack and talk about but I’m gonna try to have some chill haha and just say the Amygdala is the part of our brain that manages emotion and trauma. Every time you face a trauma, the amygdala stores that for the future so to teach you how to deal with similar events and even sometimes I think it’s what leads to people even blacking out during traumatic events? I might be totally wrong here. But anyway, it’s the emotional regulator in our brain. Some songs to check out if you’re not opposed to crying here and there from him are - The Last - So Far Away - People - Snooze (But they’re all awesome, and his work in BTS is also awesome. Can you tell he’s my bias? Mmkay bye) 💜
Thank you so much for watching and the really nice comment! You seriously just made my day, and I'll be sure to check all of these out either on this channel or on my own!
thank you for reacting to SUGA/Agust D 💜 I really hope you check more BTS stuff, they are all so talented!! fun fact, SUGA wrote, composed and produced Haegeum all by himself, this man is a true artist
amygdala being your introduction to yoongi/bts is crazy… hope you’re doing ok! it was very heavy even for us that know him and his story. if you want to check out other members individually (the ones that have had solo debuts so far): RM- wildflower Jimin - like crazy J-hope - arson Jin - the astronaut (editing to add Jungkook - dreamers, he technically hasn’t debuted yet but this is a song he did solo for the world cup) if you want more agust d, he has a song called daechwita which is actually part of a trilogy along with these two you just watched also, i feel you on the whole liking GGs and BGs being hard to get into. bts was my first exposure to kpop and they’re still the only BG i’ve been able to get into years later. love plenty of GGs though! don’t know why that is lol
Thank you so much for the sweet comment! I plan on watching more group and solo stuff! I have a Jimin reaction coming soon and probably another yoongi reaction
Hello... Amygdala is powerful, as you said, isn't it? Even for you who Agust D (Min Yoongi) is still a stranger, as you aforementioned. When the song dropped, I also felt that power, & before the song started to gain traction, I had made a comment at another reaction that Amygdala is a sleeper hit, just before it made more people sad or tear up. That guitar riff/melody is one reason for its power. It is a familiar minor-scale riff too, as if I had heard something similar back in the 1980's & 1990's, from a sad/emo rock ballad perhaps. But at least you sort of now are familiar with Yoongi, who spelled out his real life in the song's lyrics & visuals. He has always been open about his life since pre-debut. Because of that, he & BTS have directly & indirectly helped people with some of life's problems. They perhaps are not just musicians, but also counselors. That is how special they are. Hopefully you can also react to his "Daechwita" official music video, from 2020, because that rounds out these 3 songs, which are connected together as his trilogy. Agust D is currently touring in the States & all his 20-23 shows across 5 countries sold out immediately. That is roughly 300,000 seats total. You already are somewhat familiar with BTS (V vapes, as you said, heh) & I hope you will eventually realize how huge their metrics are. They are currently in the process of enlistment, with 2 of them already in. Yoongi is likely the next to enter military but probably in a non-military role, possibly because of his shoulder injury as you had witnessed in the dramatic re-enactment in the music video. I roughly remember him saying in one interview that after he fell, his head was only inches from the car's tire, as it was still rolling, iirc. Hopefully you can also react to some great fan-made BTS guides already out there in UA-cam land & so hopefully other fans have already expressed that in their comments. I would suggest guides from xCeleste, Taylor & Rice Squad, to name a few. As you might have guessed, BTS is now on hiatus & will return as a group around 2025 ... hopefully, heh.
Thank you so much for the amazing comment and for watching my video! You're comment is very helpful and I'm thankful you took the time out of your day to explain this to me! I think a guide would be awesome to react to :)
oof you've only jumped in and gone through all the emotions. as a yoongi bias i can relate, amygdala broke me and haegeum genuinely left me in shock, his songs are always so raw and show his most vulnerable self and they all HIT in every way possible. i was the same as you, I was always hesitant on getting into bts for some reason but i'm honestly so glad i did, i didn't even realise just how much i needed them. thank you for giving them a chance and hopefully you get to see and hear more of their stuff. their songs are super diverse so i'm sure there's at least a few that you would absolutely love just based off your reactions to these two!
Ddaeng we always talk about falling through the rabbit hole but sweetie went head first, is a beautiful journey just go slow do it at your own pace what make you feel ok. I hope you stay in Borland
Uffff....you started your BTS journy strong right in the dept of it. If you like deep song with strong lyrocs and a looooot of emotion you will absolutely love BTS and their msg. Esp their solo work and the B sides.
i really loved the energy you brought, youre so nice to watch compared to a lot of other reactors i see around. youre nice and calm :) easy sub. id really love to see you view more by bts and their solo work (agust d, rm, j-hope, and jimin all have some really good solo mvs)! im sure everyone has already given you suggestions of what to watch so i wont add to it, but definitely watch daechwita by agust d. it was the first installment in the daechwita/haegum/amygdala trilogy-- you actually ended up watching them in the opposite order haha. that and the mv for Like Crazy by jimin. that song is very very good
Wow okay you're comment really got me- This was so nice of you to say and this really made me happy :,) Thank you so much for watching, I'm glad to have you in this community- feel free to hit me up on any of my socials if you'd like to talk more
@@swagdaddiemaddie1301 im happy in turn, then! i hope you're having a nice day and i will definitely be watching whatever bts songs/content you react to in the future~
I'm just sending you love ans hugs for giving his music a try. But what a place to start as others have said. It was so powerful to see both of these lives. 💜💜💜💜
I have been brought to tears by more songs by Yoongi than by any other artist other than BTS themselves. His lyrics are always raw and real and personal.
Welcome to the BG side! But a lot of us do like GGs too. BTS and the individual members usually have a deeper meaning to their songs. I think that Agust D smoking was a dig at all the kpop rules, same as Jimin showing both nipples in his solo song Set Me Free pt 2. There are some really silly kpop rules IMO. Thank you for reacting and your honest opinion on these songs. Hope you explore more BTS. The B-sides are a treasure trove, and there are probably 300 +- songs in their discography.
I don't know if someone already told you, but the accident you see in the mv, the one "he couldn't mention", is an accident he had when working part-time to pay for his college tuition. He was a trainee at the time so normally, he couldn"t work outside the training. So when he crush his shoulder, he told everyone that he felt from stairs. After a while, when he told the truth, Big Hit told him that he should have told them, that they would have paid his college tuition ^^. The compagny was only started when they form BTS and they don't have many money (the boys were living in 50m², eating chicken three times a day because it was the less expensive...), but they known to be good towards their artists.
Wow, that is a tough one to start out BTS with, lol. So Amygdala was the very last video he dropped which is him explaining more about how his AgustD persona came about. And I think I cried for hours, and that was by being emotionally involved already, it is interesting to see how powerful that it even affected you. So yeah the way to think of it is... Agust D is a persona he created to deal with his anger and frustration that he couldn't get out as "SUGA from BTS" or Min Yoongi. It's funny for you to say you were angry at yourself to not give them a chance, and I can say 2 years ago? that was me. I had NO interest in checking out some boyband, but wow, they are different. But if you want to finish off his AgustD story the order of the MVs are "AgustD"->"Give it to me"->"Daechwita"->"Haegeum"->"Amygdala. Daechwita is really where this particular part of the trilogy starts, but to really feel where his head was at in breaking himself free to be able to rap like this, you can start at the beginning. But you should check out BTS as a whole.. as all 7 members truly TRULY have their own flavor and personality that they bring to the table and are all seriously talented. A song like Mic Drop is probably a good one to start with, or "On", "Black Swan"... their discography is so huge you will probably get dozens and dozens of recommendations. lol
Girl, you don't know what you're missing out.. you really should give them a chance. Bts are good as a group and as solo artists. You're in for a ride if you dive deeper.. I don't even know what to recommend to you since most of their stuff are good 😅.. but you can check out the recent solo stuff they've put out like; more (jhope), wildflower (rm), the astronaut (jin), like crazy (jimin), dreamers (jungkook).. the group songs I would recommend: fake love, blood sweat and tears, mic drop, idol, on (cinetic manifesto), spring day, etc... all these have mvs. The best part about bts are their bside songs, in my opinion .. so if you want more recommendations, just let me know 😅
Thanks for reacting!! I read below other people’s suggestions so I won’t really add more. These two songs are on his first official solo album called D-Day (he has two mixtapes before this). He actually had three music videos for this album and these was the release order: People pt.2 (he actually wanted to connect AgustD and Suga somewhat through this release. He said that he wanted people to realize that AgustD and Suga are still him, Yoongi) then Haegeum then Amygdala (he actually postponed this release because he wanted to be respectful for Moobin’s passing. I believe it was suppose to be released like the day his passing was known so he held off and released it a few days later). It is interesting to see how people relate to different groups and things. Personally don’t Stan any other group so far besides BTS but I do like songs here and their from other groups (gg and bg).
Boy groups are definitely a lot of fun. August D aka Suga of BTS, he's a great rapper and hes 1/3 rappers in the group and 1/7 members. BTS have been doing alot of solo activities before they each go off to the military. Amygdala and Haegeum are from his recent ep D-Day which is his third solo album he put out. Definitely check the album out a d maybe check out the rest of BTS too. Other members like JHope (Jack in the box), Jimin (Face) , and RM (Indigo) have recently dropped solo albums Jin also dropped a solo song called "The Astronaut".
I have been emotional about this since it came out. Some of us have trauma stored in our amygdala, we need to process it at some point. Parts of us locked away suffering. It’s shadow work. Ty you for this. ❤
aww I really enjoyed your introduction to our little cat rapper Yoongi. He is definitely my bias in the group although I love his solo work more. You should definitely check out Daechwita and his song with IU, People Pt2.
Yoongi hit you full force in your first song of his. HmAmygdala shows all of his traumas that gave birth to his Agust D persona. He is raw and honest in his lyrics. Amygdala is the third song in the trilogy which started with Daechwita and then Haegeum. Amygdala is like a prequel to explain where that persona came from. BTS songs tend to ne deep and meaningful, talking about important topics like mental health, self love, empowerment. Their English song served a different purpose to bring joy and hope to the pandemic ridden world. Don't be mad at yourself, mist ARMY (not all) started out not giving them a chance and realised we were wrong.
Also no worries about being a GG stan, there's definitely a difference in the vibes you get with BG's and GG's often. Like I'm more of a BG stan, but I do really like (g)-idle.
😮 you really went for advanced mode starting with this but if complex songs is your thing this lets you have a tiny taste of the deep waters. Never apologize for showing emotion and hope you feel ok afterwards. 💜💜💜
wow girl. Amygdala as the first song.. it really is a lot.. just like the other comment, Yoongi's songs are raw.. but BTS in general always talks about real things, if you wanna go deeper. be prepared to question life and all the things you've known PS. I've come to this video after seeing your Jimin reaction on my recommendation
I know I'm biased saying this but it never gets boring with BTS' rapline. Literally, they know how to make a song entertaining even to those who aren't fans of rap, and the lyrics always make you think. All of the rapline's solo work is amazing. I think the most rap heavy project is J-Hope's album, with Jack in the Box (probably less digestible if rap not your preferred genre) but it's honestly a amazing piece of art! (also he performed it so well I'm still not over lolapalooza). My favorite solo work from a BTS member is still, to this day, Indigo, RM's album. He's also part of the rapline, but you would probably love what he does if you enjoy smoother raps mixed with singing. As for the vocal line, Jin didn't put out much because he was the first to leave for his enlistment, but The Astronaut, the song he worked on with Coldplay last fall, is worth a listen! I just saw your Jimin reaction, so I know you loved that. The two other members, V and Jungkook, have yet to put out their solo work, but you are very welcome to react to it when it comes out! I hope you enjoy this journey, I promise it's worth it!
Oh, and with the smoking, whether he really does or not I dunno but he put that in there on purpose because idols are so restricted even when it comes to trivial common things
Listen to me, you can't stop now! You have to let them control your life there's no other choice 😂 bts is a mine of gold. Also I love the poster you have on the wall, that movie is so beautifull
He doesn’t smoke in real life. He actually smoked to hint at the controversy V was having about smoking . Saying their adults. They shouldn’t be criticized for doing things that every day people do everyday . I feel it kinda says we are no different. I’m supposedly a criminal but your a crooked cop. Also the head out the window was connecting the first video that’s part of the three songs it’s called DAECHWITA. so Yoongi said they should be watched back to back. DAECHWITA, then HAEGEUM and then Amygdala. Also BTS is the best group in all of k pop. They have surpassed that title.
You said "I know Butter and Dynamite" and I was like oh no... oh no no.. we're going from two of the songs least like BTS, and jumping into the deep dark end of songs BTS members have released
Hah I actually don't listen to GG, so oposite, but it is more to fact that I simply enjoy male voices more, especially when famales have more on sweet side voice I don't really feel it... But I usually look what GG put out, especially old group that still go hard, simply to see what going on, but it is all honestly, but I love Jessi hehe, and I listen to Mamamoo sometimes. I got more into kpop bc of BTS, like I knew about this genre long before, but never go deeper, but then BTS catch my eye and I stayed with them. Yoongi also my bias, love them all the same, but I like his rap style and how he uses his voice the most, and his solo work ah I really connect with it, his lyrics, all his experience that he shares, so from OT7 I become OT7 with Yoongi in front and 6 wreakers. Like youbsaw in Amygdala he dosen't hide his past and feelings, he is really open about stuff like this... I think it is very easy to fall into or for BTS if you give them chance, so be sure you are ready and I can only say that b-sides is were the magic happends... Hehe. So if you want to go for it but on your tempo. Bc a lot of people got to know them bc Butter and Dynamite, this songs somehow become they tag, wich is a little sad bc yeah this are great fun songs but they were made to make people smile and feel good, ahh so yeah. But I'm sure you understand this, it is hard with all sterotypes around kpop... I realy love their lyricism, and this is always something worth looking into. Ohh about smoking in MV. He said in interview that he don't like how people blow out of proportion normal things, that he is 30 and people are doing big deal of things that are normal for everyone but bc of who he is all this little things become controversy like he is a kid, like you said, you even heard about V and it is Yoongi answer they are grown up mens and will do what they want... The same was when V followed someone (known) on IG and fast unfollowed and it blew up like big with different comments around he side he was scroling and hit it (he should't even explain it but he did), but it blew so Yoongi go on IG followed someone randome and unfollowed too... Little f* y to all talking about stuff that ate totally not important... Bc it should be big deal but now everything is, for all Idols the same... It dosen't matter if it is true or only MV bc it should't matter... this is what Haegeum is about. He also said if people made big deal (like negative, cancel culture, etc) of this part of MV then this world really going in bad direction... (Yeah like loookninto mirror). Ahh and second MV... To go first into this deep song.. ahh that tells his story yeah such a choice for first time. I don't know if somebody wrote this but part on scoter in MV was story of car hitting him when he worked as delivery guy when he was a trainee bc they didn't had money as band and company was poor so to have some extra he worked and he was still in high school aside from trainee, he was hit and have problems with his arm, bc he hide it, he was scared they would drop him, he said he was from stairs, but finally said after few weeks what happened bc it hurt still, but it was too late to help much, it was healed but a little wrong so it was painful for him often, they make is easier but not fully good, and company helped how they could, in 2020 he finally got it fixed but few last years before surgery he was geting shots in arm with painkillers bc his arm littleraly give up on him. ( This line on song "my accident that I could talk about")... I won't talk about his parents ahh but He told us long ago about his mom but his dad, it was first time we heard about it so yeah... ahh sorry I wrote so much🫣 I feel I little stupid to go on this ramble, but I wrote so much it is a shame to delate now... Ohh so I liked your reaction, thanks. Hehe see y
I get u, BTS and the Rose are the only boy groups I stay up with/listen to regularly, not really intentionally but I used to listen to more girl groups.
BTS three rappers RM, Suga, Jhope are great songwriters and producers. Suga aka Agust D is a great composer too. Why is BTS famous now? You should watch I need u original version +19 +released in 2015. Sorry my English. I'm Japanese J-ARMY 66 years old. Thank you for watching and listening to his songs.
Really like how you picked up on certain things like there being 2 sides of him and things he has to fight against outside & w/in himself. BTS has deep lyrics, even when you think its just fun or sexy sounding 😂 For Solo projects recommend Jhope's More & Daydream; RM's Wildflower & Moonchild/or Forever Rain.
This song came with a trigger warning. Yoongi has been through a lot of trauma in his life - and he doesn’t hesitate to open up about it in his lyrics. BTS’s lyrics are almost always very profound. Dynamite and Butter were during the pandemic, so they wanted cheerful, upbeat songs.
Hope you continued ur agust d/bts journey!!! Even if you don't film and/or upload, i hope you did and enjoyed it 💜💜💜💜 if you prefer gg, could you react to some mamamoo? I don't think i saw any in ur vids, but i could have missed them If you like the really artistic and story-mode stuff for bts, good ones are Fake Love, blood sweat & tears, and the all powerful trilogy ("i need u (original)", then "prologue: butterfly", then "run" not to be confused with run bts). Film out is an interesting one, japanese and artsy & v pretty. Agust d's daechwita is mad good, and snooze (special vid). All the "wings" short art films are fire story bits, there's comps out there that combine all seven God I'm probs missing so much, but that's off the top of my head
Hey, are you alright? You started with Amygdala which is really emotionally heavy compared to the others. That is Suga of BTS or Agust D, he makes raw and emotional songs as they touch on mental health and the society. I love your reaction to Agust D, there are a lot more BTS music that you can enjoy also their live performances! It is amazing that you were also paying attention to the lyrics, which are always meaningful coming from BTS! Enjoy the amazing ride as you know them further...Take care ☺💜
All BTS solos and group songs have meaning. It's their life stories; the only 3 songs that are just for fun are Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance which are all good tunes but super poppie and not to much substance, commercial and all in English.
It's OK..........................are you OK? YT put out a 'trigger warning' on this vid. Then removed it. Like Pauline Ciparisse said below " are you a 'Baby Army'? " .....it was simply Suga making a vid to show - what he went through back then. His trauma. How he dealt with it. Sweetie: Suga had a serious 'shoulder Injury'.......as displayed in this vid. He kept hidden from BIG HIT......back then.' Despite all their Tours etc....as an Army Mom from 2016.....I saw how......he couldn't do ' the same dance moves' as his mates. So in all their concerts/tours everyone 'covered for him' until 2020. During the Pandemic. Suga made the best decision and had major surgery - on his shoulder. Check their 2020 Award show - where for the 1st time....he was missing. Although S went through a lot back then.........and chose to be 100 % TRANSPARENT? He never made this song to 'trigger others on 'their trauma'........he simply showed what HE went through back then .....and survived - Obviously. As a West Indian Army Mom (55 yrs old) who went through SERIOUS TRAUMA .....and came close to losing my life - several times over? Buried that shit n...kept it moving. Yea.......I cried. So cry if you want to. Millions of Army did. But ....HE SURVIVED ....I survived.....Millions of us SURVIVED. Our trauma. Like Suga did. HE IS THE 1ST and (since I've known these Boys since '16).......and only.......to tell HIS STORY (dealing with depression/self harm/addiction to pills etc).......YEARS AGO. In his Rap lyrics. ARMY KNOW SUGA......and what he went through...... This song? Will only shock 'Baby Army'..so...........take a deep breath? Then Get the f*ck over it. Like Suga did - Hmmmmkay?? Borahea 💜💜
Yikes, starting with Amygdala. The amygdala is the nuclei in your brain in charge of processing emotion, specially the ones like fear, sadness, and anger, it also holds our traumatic memories so it can learn to recognize this situations in the future. Amygdala in latin means almond, in greek it was ἀμυγδάλη (amugdálē), as these two clusters of nuclei in the brain have the shape and size of almonds they were named amygdala. I believe you won't just enjoy Yoongi, but also BTS. They are good people and good artists, all of them are talented in their own ways, and make a great team. BTS has helped a lot of us, and just so you know a saying we have, "you don't find BTS, BTS finds you when you need them most." That saying is true for many of us.
Uhhh man I'm sorryy u got thrown into bts like this lol.. I actually also used to only listen to girlgroups, esp. blackpink, and then in like 2019 I started with AgustD's "The Last" (which is thematically similar to amygdala, but style wise very different...) and then like everything honestly, I would just have his 2 mixtapes on repeat over and over. And then idk I just sort of fell down the rabbit hole of bts lmao... anyway I can definitely also recommend RM and Jhope if you're interested in rap (Moonchild and safety zone are some of my favourite songs)
Oh man... way to just rip the band-aid off... I recommend listening to his song Snooze (maybe not on camera, but just for you to listen and get an even greater understanding of who Yoongi is). There is no MV and I don't usually trust the translations from color coded lyric videos on YT, but if you Google "Doolset Bangtan" you'll find a site for a great ARMY translator who adds notes to her translations which is helpful. The song is beautiful and basically a song to all his juniors to give them some strength and advise.
Good lord, starting your bts journey with Amygdala was…definetly a painful choice.. are you okay girl? Just so you know, Yoongi’s solo songs are always very raw and honest. He talks a lot about mental health and society in general. If you are up to cheking out more bts, welcome! They are lovely and extremely talented people
It was definitely a lot but I think this really opened my eyes! I'm excited to learn more
This woman just jumped straight off into the deep end. 💜
No floaties or anything haha
One think you should know about bts is that they are autonomous and have their creative control. They write their own lyrics and produce and co produce their songs. They also chose how they promote their solo projects.
Suga even storyboarded these MVs!
Their label Bighit music (not Hybe, part of Hybe) always priroritized bts' self expression insead of forcing them into concepts.
So you can expect a lot of the members involvement and rawness.
Hope you'll like your bts journey.
Thank you for watching- I think it's sick they have creative freedom like this!
I plan on it! Thanks for the watch and I hope you join me for the next one!
No problem we understand Sis me personally, I'm also only into BTS no other band 😂💜
good lord you jumped head first into the rabbit hole. starting with amygdala...damn hope you're okay, that's definitely a tough one
haha thank you for watching!
Amygdala: 🤲🏼🥺😭💔⛈️⛅️
…… Haegeum: 🔥💥🖕🏼🙌🏼☠️🤬
💜💜💜💜💜💜😭 I was done at Father's liver cancer. 🫂 Hugs lady🙂
Hey, army there! For a better understanding I'm going to give you some more info:
Agust D is SUGA from BTS' alter-ego. His name is Min Yoongi and he's a lead rapper and the main producer in BTS. He also produced for other artists and companies (IU, Suran, Halsey, Samsung, etc). He's also the 2nd oldest (1993)
He has released three solo albums as a trilogy: Agust D(2016), D-2(2020) and D-Day(last week). Amygdala and Haegeum are both part of the latest one. With Daechwita from D-2 they form a storyline that should be watched in the said order: Daechwita>Haegeum>Amygdala
Haegeum means to lift a ban and is also the name of a traditional Korean instrument.
And finally a little intro to BTS:
Stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boyscouts).
Rappers:
RM ( leader, main rapper, and main songwriter, composer, producer, Kim Namjoon),
suga (you already know)
j-hope (Jung Hoseok, also sub-vocalist, dance leader, main dancer, songwriter, composer, producer)
Vocalists:
Jin (Kim Seokjin, main visual, songwriter, composer, producer)
Jimin (Park Jimin, main dancer, lead vocalist, producer, songwriter, composer)
V(Kim Taehyung, lead vocalist, lead dancer, producer, songwriter, actor)
Jungkook (Jeong Jungkook, main vocalist, center, lead dancer, songwriter, composer, producer) who is the Maknae
They struggled a lot financially back then, went close to bankruptcy, and had to share a single room for everyone, recording in a garage and practicing in the basement of a restaurant.
They're originally a hiphop group but now they do every genres:
Hiphop/rap(Ugh, Tear,etc)
Latin Pop(Airplane PT 2)
Soul (singularity)
RnB (my time)
Jazz, ballads, disco, EDM, etc.
Thank you!
I liked how honest you were! To be honest, I also only knew BTS' name and popularity and I saw one video and since then I was down the rabbit hole. And so often I regretted not getting into them earlier and not giving them a chance earlier. But ARMY always says you get to BTS at a time where you need them :)
Thank you so much for watching and the comment, I try to be as honest on here as possible- I don't want to pretend to know things I don't!
The amygdala is the emotional processing part of your brain that stores fear, trauma, and memories.
Thank you for the info!
I think I might be ready to start my BTS journey!
Starting with amygdala… woof. You got a quick crash course of what he’s been through, he’s an incredibly strong person. If you want more recommendations hit me up! They have so many different genres so it’s hard to just recommend one haha
I'm excited!
It also shocked me when i first got into them but theres actually a lot of bts songs and MVs that talk about suicide, self harm and dark themes like that.
It still surprises me though how often their lyrics make me cry
It's safe to say I was a little shocked LOL thank you for watching! :)
"daechwita" from the d-2 mixtape is like a prequel to "haegeum" and also has an mv. however, it's less about "f capitalism" and more about "f the haters" lol. it's still a banger though, similar vibes. a song of his similar to "amygdala" would probably be "the last", at least with how personal it is. that one also makes me cry often
but if you want to delve into bts overall and you liked "black swan", you'd probably enjoy "fake love", "life goes on" and "boy with luv". each has a different vibe but they're all very meaningful with gorgeous vocals. have fun exploring them!
Thank you so much for the suggestions, and thank you for watching!
So now you learned super fast Suga's life story. The whole group has amazing talents, different talents. The title of the first song is the part of your brain that holds past trauma, bad emotions. Haegeum is talking about what's forbidden. I hope you're OK this was a really rough introduction to Suga.
I'm more than okay, thanks for watching and the comment!
What a start to BTS journey, good luck girl.
Way to start with a bang haha
Some songs to check out if you’re not opposed to crying here and there from him are
- The Last
- So Far Away
- People
- Snooze
(But they’re all awesome, and his work in BTS is also awesome.
Thats awesome! I had no idea, thank you for tuning into my reaction!
You are so warm and sweet 💙 Thank you for reacting to Yoongi 💙 I’m glad you liked both of his songs/music videos 😁
you're too kind, thank you for the watch and the comment!
amygdala being your introduction to yoongi/bts is crazy… hope you’re doing ok! it was very heavy even for us that know him and his story.
if you want to check out other members individually (the ones that have had solo debuts so far):
RM- wildflower
Jimin - like crazy
J-hope - arson
Jin - the astronaut
(editing to add Jungkook - dreamers, he technically hasn’t debuted yet but this is a song he did solo for the world cup)
if you want more agust d, he has a song called daechwita which is actually part of a trilogy along with these two you just watched
also, i feel you on the whole liking GGs and BGs being hard to get into. bts was my first exposure to kpop and they’re still the only BG i’ve been able to get into years later. love plenty of GGs though! don’t know why that is lol
We're the complete opposite lol. I find it hard to get into girl groups
we each have our own things!
Ddaeng we always talk about falling through the rabbit hole but sweetie went head first, is a beautiful journey just go slow do it at your own pace what make you feel ok.
I hope you stay in Borland
Thank you!
girl welcome to our world we cry a lot lol and laugh a lot
A song like Mic Drop is probably a good one to start with, or "On", "Black Swan"... their discography is so huge you will probably get dozens and dozens of recommendations. lol
I plan on watching his previous stuff as well- at the time of reacting I didn't know about the other ones haha
The best part about bts are their bside songs, in my opinion .. so if you want more recommendations, just let me know 😅
I plan on watching more, thank you!
Amygdala is just so...to know that he went through all this and all these feelings he had
I love you Sugaaaa
Thank you sm for watching and the helpful comment, I plan on doing some more reactions!
I have been emotional about this since it came out. Some of us have trauma stored in our amygdala, we need to process it at some point. Parts of us locked away suffering. It’s shadow work. Ty you for this. ❤
Off topic but ur so pretty! and Yoongi is sucha great song writer/producer. So excited to see him in concert!!!
aww I really enjoyed your introduction to our little cat rapper Yoongi.
Atiny and ARMY here. They are the only two boy groups I truly stan. Welcome to the rabbit hole 💜💜
Let's go Ateez fighting! BTS too ofc
😮 you really went for advanced mode starting with this but if complex songs is your thing this lets you have a tiny taste of the deep waters.
Never apologize for showing emotion and hope you feel ok afterwards. 💜💜💜
wow girl. Amygdala as the first song.. it really is a lot.. just like the other comment, Yoongi's songs are raw.. but BTS in general always talks about real things, if you wanna go deeper. be prepared to question life and all the things you've known
PS. I've come to this video after seeing your Jimin reaction on my recommendation
Gracias pir reaccionar a mi niño hermoso.ojala t des la oportunidad de conoser al grupo .no t arrepentiras.saludos desde chile.
SUGA🔥 AGUST D 🔥
I loved this video so much. I love your raw emotions to Amygdala. Please react to more AGUST D and BTS!
Loved your honesty. I hope if you continue your BTS journey you come back to this trilogy once you know Suga better, this was a lot lol
You sound/seem so kind and sweet ^^
Thank you so much! and thank you for watching!
Love how quickly you fell down the rabbit hole but take a number and move to the back of the infinitely long line! 😂
You should check out some of their other solo projects too. I'd like to recommend Wildflower by RM. :)
I got you!
Loved this! Daechwita and People by agust d you should def listen to :)
I loved your reactions and hope that you continue to react to BTS!!!
Would love to see you react to more BTS. Tons of content. 💜
Love your reaction 💜🫂
Thanks for watching!
you should watch other Agust D's MV's like: Agust D, Daechwita and Give It To Me. 🤍
I think you'll like Jack In The Box and Face (both solo albums of bts members J-Hope and Jimin)
I'll check them out!
Hope you continued ur agust d/bts journey!!! Even if you don't film and/or upload, i hope you did and enjoyed it 💜💜💜💜 if you prefer gg, could you react to some mamamoo? I don't think i saw any in ur vids, but i could have missed them
If you like the really artistic and story-mode stuff for bts, good ones are Fake Love, blood sweat & tears, and the all powerful trilogy ("i need u (original)", then "prologue: butterfly", then "run" not to be confused with run bts). Film out is an interesting one, japanese and artsy & v pretty. Agust d's daechwita is mad good, and snooze (special vid). All the "wings" short art films are fire story bits, there's comps out there that combine all seven
God I'm probs missing so much, but that's off the top of my head
nothing wrong with just liking girl groups! im an army and i only really listen to bts and ggs!
Enjoy the amazing ride as you know them further...Take care ☺💜
oh gahhhd you started with amygdala?? damn
Those are some heavy songs to start with, lol...
Borahea 💜💜
if you didnt cry to amygdala i just dont even want to know you
Here since you're a girl group Stan and probably need a good laugh today ua-cam.com/video/p-e-axjg1_8/v-deo.html
LOL
Unfortunately you’ve watched them out of order these songs are part of a trilogy and Daechwita is the first one then Haegeum then Amygdala.
