LOL this reminds me of when they did a thing where Bren would describe his pre season rankings and the others would discuss. and he would always bring up travel and if teams had to travel a lot
@@loomisam9913 LOL I wasn't sure. But that was so funny XD Loved it. I actually have that video favorited to rewatch when I'm feeling down or something
I think the way that LJG and Moth play greatly reflect the way their teams played. When Moth was in shock, they would win by taking the advantage, like Moth’s play style which is safe, and takes risks when it would give you an advantage. As for LJG, as Josh said he’ll hunt for those advantages, like Shanghai who would play aggressively and win
true, but LJG has evolved. People act like he's just super over aggressive. That is part of him. But he has learned, on other heroes besides Lucio, to know when to hold back a bit. He's become one of the best Mercy's period, a complete non aggressive character, and has reigned in his Brig, which he did used to go over aggressive on and feed at points some times. So I think he has eclipsed a lot of people because of that.
LJG was the reason the Dragons lost in 2020 imo.. Moth is 100% more consistent and reliable. Sure LGS "cleaned" up his play in 2021, shouldn't put him above moth for how consistent he has been.
I think the big problem here is logistics. Getting everyone together to record every week seems like its a pretty limited window. They've had to be on a deadline more than once. It'd be fun though!
This was so much fun gonna be a cracking little series seeing were you guys rank other roles, also you guys have to have Reinforce defend that list in a later video cous holy shit haha.
This episode was mad enjoyable, but definitely revealed a significant weakness in main supports as you go down the list that I don't think we will see for flex supports or either DPS roles. The fact at number 10 you are scraping for players that had one decent season and a few average ones says a LOT. DPS is going to be incredibly difficult to split into hitscan and projectile because the lines are so blurred in modern overwatch, but for flex supports as an example it's so easy to immediately say like: Jjonak, Izayaki, Viol2t, Twilight, Shu, Fielder, Alarm, Ryujehong (I've almost certainly missed a few standouts) as lock ins for the top 10 before you are looking at other AMAZING flex supports. That being said, if Lastro doesn't make it PURELY based on the impact of "sex big dick" I don't know what to tell you...
I think depends if they split up DPS too, between Hitscan and Flex DPS. I could see them doing that. Also Main Tank may be a little tougher than Off Tank. I think they forgot some great Main Supports like Ark from awhile back, I think he could have been a good shout in the top 15 that not many of these guys put. So they didn't necessarily remember everyone possible. Bren and Matt especially.
@@CrazeeAdam I rly can't rate Ark that highly, personally. Nearly all his accolades come from piggybacking off jjonaks god like zen, since the name of the game was pocket. Anamo literally took over mercy duties in S1 and actually boasted better stats, mostly deaths, which Ark was obviously famous for never dying. Love Ark, but the dudes greatest success came from his team imo and I think of 15 other MS before him (including Anamo)
Great episode looking forward to the next 4-5 (you splitting DPS along Hitscan?)> Know you're looking for content, but these are a perfect capstone for OW1 with 5v5 being the norm with OW2
Depends if you rank on greatness or on who is the best. That’s very different. It’s also about what your definition of greatness is. I like Moth intangibles, understanding of the game, of compositions, of individual players, of how to approach fights. His game sense is truly elite. SF shock used to say their best strategy/plan was “just do what moth says” and it got them 2 fucking champions. He is consistent, dependable, can still make plays but never dies and is always at the right place. His analyzing/reviewing how he always helps everyone improve. His constant constructive criticism combined with his drive to improve everyone and himself. He glues teams together, gives cohesion, keeps the team focused, determined, he has leadership, amazing shot calling, ult tracking, information gathering and bringing stability to the team like no other. He takes such a heavy load of the shoulders of his team like that, that he elevates them to new heights. And in terms of greatness, the shock dynasty speaks for itself. And he himself has become a bench mark for all OWL main supporters and proves that being mechanical isn’t enough to compete with him. And just because you play great in game doesn’t mean you are anywhere near the teammate he is.
I like you point out that it depends on what you rank, I agree with that. If you pick them at their peak LJG has a massive shot along with Astro, but if you weigh longevity and achievements moth and tobi. It all depends on what you are looking at and what you weigh heavier. And I think you already mentioned the big names in Moth, Astro, LJG and tobi.and other names lower on the list could be FDGod, Masaa, iDK etc
The issue is I'd be with you if it was only for OWL. But while Moth won hist first Championship, LJG sweeped the field of Contenders together with Heesu, Mag, Gangamjin, QoQ etc. He won contenders Korea twice AND OWL which is something not many can say.
@@certifiedbttm4003 I don't understand the misconception that ljg doesnt have longevity. Look at his liquipedia. He won kr contenders twice then 4 stage titles and 1 owl title. Love your guys stuff, just wanted to ask for the next top 10 videos could you announce the person when it is revealed? I often just listen to the audio and it was a bit tough to follow along when everyone starts talking without mentioning the name
Nisha absolutely should’ve been higher. Won his first season in contenders back in 2019, had decent placings until getting picked up for OWL. Benched by Yvetal for a bit but when he did play he looked very clean
Gambler is a forgotten main support. Mechanically I think he had the highest mastery of Mercy. Later passed by Moth and Yveltal, but he was way ahead of his time playing on that mess of a Dynasty team. Used to watch his stream. I miss Overwatch so much. RiP to a legendary game.
I was watching this waiting for tobi because i’ve always loved him as a person and player and always thought he was a great team player and definitely deserves to be as high as he is on the list
Definitely not top 10 (probably 11th on my list) but I feel as though Chara is someone that should have been mentioned. I really think he was solid for both of the seasons he played in OWL (2019-2020) and even before with Meta. He was possibly one of the better brig players in 2020 (at least within APAC).
Some random news that came up besides Microsoft buying Blizzard! Bischu is the new manager (although his title is longer and maybe is not the true "manager") of Houston. Cool to see him back. Always seemed like a great dude.
TBF Neptuno WAS a top tier main support in season 1. He had some of the highest healing, reses, and the highest final blow count. He was the original battle mercy in OWL and the best at it in S1. But after S1 he wasn't anything remarkable.

I honestly cannot comprehend Avast here... What is so weird at ranking Masaa and IDK above FunnyAstro? IDK has had a long consistent career. He was arguably more influential in tier 2 than Astro. Masaa has had 1 amazing OWL season, 1 great and 1 mediocre (it looked worse than it was because he's Brig was weak). Astro has had one amazing OWL season. Consistency and track record matters. Not just who looks best on highlight reel.
I think for at least IDK he had a steep decline and Astro hasn't. Part of the reason he didn't play wasn't his fault. And I think it's in people's minds when he does play again he will still be amazing.

Missin those owl voices🥲
And I think it's in people's minds when he does play again he will still be amazing.
you all snubbed chara
