This may be a dumb question, but can you get breakfast and food within walking distance at this event?

Yes, there are plenty of option on the Airventure grounds and also places near the grounds for food. Tall Pines in the Ultra Light area has a good breakfast.

Most main cafe's (there are 5-6 of them) have breakfast every morning till 10 or 11am.

Yeah, you can get food but if you drop the wrapper or cup you will get lynched.
