The New York Jets came to my hometown for the past few years, and they would always come to the restaurant I worked at. So I had a pretty cool experience because I loved talking to the guys, and I can give you a quick rundown of their personalities. Antonio Cromartie was a pretty genuinely nice guy, and we talked for a while. Nick Mangold is really personable and he's hilarious. Geno Smith was pretty quiet and didn't really talk to us a lot, and I actually got to talk to Chris Ivory a lot, he was the man. But the coolest guy on the entire team was the equipment manager. He was super cool, and he would visit my restaurant multiple times a week, he was honestly like a friend to me for the few weeks he was here. His car was always full of dirty shoulder pads and practice jerseys, and he was always drenched in sweat from lugging around this equipment all day. He gave me a whole new respect for the behind the scenes guys in the NFL.
I'm not a linemen now but I have been before and usually they are unappreciated by other players sometimes even the head coach but for lovie smith to have them in first class that says a lot about him👍
most the time when guys don’t appreciate the OLine or DLine they probably aren’t playing at a very high level highschool max everybody knows without a line you not gonna win football games look at the chiefs in the super bowl didn’t have 2 tackles playing and mahomes had to run for his life
Red Corsairs late but chick fil a is after the game and planned nutritionist is before. idea is the chick fil a or sometimes pizza is to regain the weight they lost. the nutritionist is to get their body full of the nutrients they need to be ready for their game
"So how important is... timing?" she inquires. That's why I luv ya, CBS: you ask the insightful, need-to-know, hard-hitting questions no one else would think to ask.
I actually got the chance to drive this team over Thanksgiving weekend when they played @ Atlanta. So much does go into this. And the players are so nice.
Mudda Good Guy They use 12 dozen bats per player and there are 25 players on their roster, also they each have multiple gloves and they travel about every 3 days
its reminds me of public school lunches and charter school lunches. At my public school the food is crap. At the charter school i went to, they had $10 lunches and its from a restraunt
Luke C. We had chick fil a sandwiches you could buy in school, but maybe becus it was a brand new high school and I was in the first graduating class,.
Apparently the Bucs use (for this trip to Pitt anyway) a smaller airplane than most NFL teams. I was surprised to see it was a 757, just a single aisle, narrow body. Most NFL teams travel with twin aisle, wide body airplanes. I have observed (via Flightradar24) that the Cincy Bengals always charter with Delta and always seem to be in a 767-300 or A330-200. The NE Patriots own their own aircraft, two actually, both 767-300's. And the AZ Cardinals also have their own jet, probably the largest airplane any NFL team travels on, a 777-200. For anyone not familiar with commercial airplanes, those last four models mentioned are much larger and roomier than that 757 the Bucs were using in this video.
I use to work for Delta and did mostly college football games Kentucky , Florida , Georgia, Alabama I once loaded bags with Nick Saban it's not as hard as they make all of this look because theirs so much support in each position helping to get all of this accomplished not just one person and his cell phone
+itsjabooom1 Dude, you're an idiot to not assume I'm talking about sports with actual revenue. Any sport could be anything, like chess or polo or anything...so CLEARLY I did not just mean any sport. dipshit.
For those who think baseball is more difficult than football because of the traveling is missing the point. Yes baseball has way more games but the amount of equipment used to practice and play is far less than what is needed for a football team.
But the bottom line is that football teams travel FAR less than teams in the other sports, especially NBA and NHL. Eight times a year, compared to 20-30 times for baseball teams and 41 times for NFL and NBA teams (some teams like the NY and NJ teams travel a bit less, obviously). Plus, football teams have far more downtime between travel days than the other three major sports leagues.
Neat, seems bittersweet. You hate traveling but you want that ultimate goal. I have a different level of respect for the linesmen, Lovie is absolutely right. I feel that way as well, they don't get the respect they deserve and first class seating is more than appropriate.
Hahaha this is nothing compared to what the nhl teams deal with. More equipment, plus they travel alot more than the nfl teams. And why doesn't the nfl teams have their own jets?
Fire Dolphin They talk about it like it's the biggest problem in the world that they have to move "all that gear" like 8 times per season. I find that very ignorant and amusing
Well there's a lot that goes into it in terms of planning and time management, regardless if it's done 8 times a year or more. You also have to consider there are more than three times as many NFL players and coaches on a given roster compared to an NHL team It's not ignorant at all. Just sounds like you want to shit on football for whatever reason. Should I remind you that baseball travels even more than hockey teams?
Jollvardscoots For real, I remember in the military, we'd have to move thousands of pounds of gear in hours at least 15-20 times a year going out to the field. And since I was communications, a lot of that gear was classified and couldn't be packed up the day prior, so we had to wake up and get to work at like 3 in the morning to finish packing, organize which trucks the gear is going on, get them loaded, which trucks of ours were going, install comm equipment, withdraw rifles from the armory, and get all that done by like 6 only to be told that the truck drivers were late and wouldn't be ready until 11. So you'd think higher ups would learn and relax the time schedule, nope. Every damn time, hurry up and then wait for 5 hours. This moving NFL teams 8 times a year would be a cake walk for people who did that, as long as they pay enough.
That's interesting that they still have to go through TSA security for a privet chartered jet. Normally when you rent a privet jet, you just drive right up to it and walk on board.
It's because the charter flights are operated under FAA Part 121 rules instead of Part 91 or 135 rules that other private and charter flights adhere to. Plus the airlines want security to protect their own staff and aircraft.
They do. Sports charters tend to be very high in seniority for flight crews, and the airline will usually keep the same crew for the team in order to maintain comfort and familiarity.
The Bucs and Steelers are not in the same conference, so Tampa only makes this trip every 8 years. Do the Bucs travel by land to Jacksonville or Miami?
The New York Jets came to my hometown for the past few years, and they would always come to the restaurant I worked at. So I had a pretty cool experience because I loved talking to the guys, and I can give you a quick rundown of their personalities. James Kidd go jets
jets suck
that's awesome let's go jets
Cromartie is a good guy except for all 8 of his kids that he cant remember the names of.
James Kidd that's awesome...what an experience.😆👍👍
I'm not a linemen now but I have been before and usually they are unappreciated by other players sometimes even the head coach but for lovie smith to have them in first class that says a lot about him👍
Elijah Williams too bad lovie wasn't appreciated by the owners. Players respected him and the Glazers just fired him..
Nick Ho ik I was devastated
Elijah Williams now look at them. Defense is so bad the offense could score 40pts and still lose
most the time when guys don’t appreciate the OLine or DLine they probably aren’t playing at a very high level highschool max everybody knows without a line you not gonna win football games look at the chiefs in the super bowl didn’t have 2 tackles playing and mahomes had to run for his life
Really love these behind the scenes videos that show how much work goes into getting the stadium game ready 🙌👏👏👏
I love them and will watch.
“Planned by a nutritionist” like 20 seconds ago I saw someone licking out Chick-Fila
If they're burning those calories as fast as they ingest them it's no big deal. And it's probably grilled chicken from Chik-Fil-A
And the Smuckers PBJ too.
Red Corsairs late but chick fil a is after the game and planned nutritionist is before. idea is the chick fil a or sometimes pizza is to regain the weight they lost. the nutritionist is to get their body full of the nutrients they need to be ready for their game
Who anything about him being a chef
"So how important is... timing?" she inquires. That's why I luv ya, CBS: you ask the insightful, need-to-know, hard-hitting questions no one else would think to ask.

I like how when the lady said excuse me the reporter looked but didn't move
Just imagine baseball teams. They play like 120 games per year. Wow
+Keith Bittinger 162, actually. More if they make the playoffs.
+Paco Ramirez and spring training.
but they don't use as much gear as football
Mudda Good Guy They use 12 dozen bats per player and there are 25 players on their roster, also they each have multiple gloves and they travel about every 3 days
Wyatt they don't use 12 dozen bats per player. And football uses way more gear than baseball
Hahaha its funny at 2:27 she actually knew what that was starting to sound like...had to catch herself.
Keith murray lol
People like this need appreciation
The Browns deserve to fly in public planes
slapshot68 very true they should fly public till they can win
slapshot68 nice
slapshot68 cause they suck
slapshot68 they probably do
At least they make more money than you, so shut up
"It's as big as my arm!" Something tells me that's not the first time she's said that 😂
She looks the type to be fair

I work for United Airlines in Chicago and we work hard for passengers to get in and out safely... so big up's to all the United Airlines employees
Chi town rip untied 2017

How bout THAT airline food
its reminds me of public school lunches and charter school lunches. At my public school the food is crap. At the charter school i went to, they had $10 lunches and its from a restraunt
I wish they had Chick-fil-A sandwiches on all flights
lance allen dope
Luke C. We had chick fil a sandwiches you could buy in school, but maybe becus it was a brand new high school and I was in the first graduating class,.
The food is prepared at the facility and loaded onto the plane.
That was cool on the window of the bus.."Its a Buc's Life"...
Now I understand why game tickets are so expensive.
It's because the players want a cut in tickets and concession pay.
Benjamin Sorenson ?
I enjoyed that. Never saw it from that perspective. I've always seen it from a broadcast setup point of view.
"are the jerseys stink?" lmfao!!! A woman would be thinking about laundry haha
Great Video CBS! more behind the scene coverage would be great for future!!
They deserve a recognition
Apparently the Bucs use (for this trip to Pitt anyway) a smaller airplane than most NFL teams. I was surprised to see it was a 757, just a single aisle, narrow body.

"That's like my arm.. look at that shoe..."
lmaoooo
Very efficient looking. Very professionally done. Well done.
This was a great segment!
I use to work for Delta and did mostly college football games Kentucky , Florida , Georgia, Alabama I once loaded bags with Nick Saban it's not as hard as they make all of this look because theirs so much support in each position helping to get all of this accomplished not just one person and his cell phone
after watching this video, i have a found respect for career baseball players. 20 years of this. Wow
4:00 The entire meal is planned by a nutritionist 3:47 shows ton of chick fil a sandwiches
Lovie Smith should be riding in the baggage compartment.
+Brian Willis thanks, that made my day.
+Brian Willis lmao!!
Yes
After that game against Washington, they shouldn't have let him on the plane.
+rickdog02 What kind of question is that!?!?!
excellent coverage
Great work
NHL has it the hardest.
+Victor Reyes - Well yeah, they also make the least amount of money of any sport...
+Stephen no, i think that professional ultimate frisby
+Stephen fuck no, there is so many sports that make way less
+itsjabooom1 Obviously I'm relating to the 5 MAJOR sports people actually give a fuck about ( Baseball, Hockey, Football, Soccer, and Basketball).
+itsjabooom1 Dude, you're an idiot to not assume I'm talking about sports with actual revenue. Any sport could be anything, like chess or polo or anything...so CLEARLY I did not just mean any sport. dipshit.
Great Job Jan! :-)

It’s even crazier for players in the NHL because they have 82 games that span for like 5 months
I’m buddy works for the Bucs! He flies with the team! He’s from Pittsburgh. Nice to see him when he comes home
How much you think people that work for a NFL TEAM MAKE
@@slapfivellc7244 he makes good money. He’s just over 100k
I was at that Steelers game cuz I'm a buccuneers fan that live in Pennsylvania so it was pretty cool
Neat, seems bittersweet. You hate traveling but you want that ultimate goal. I have a different level of respect for the linesmen, Lovie is absolutely right. I feel that way as well, they don't get the respect they deserve and first class seating is more than appropriate.
Dream job right there.
Coordinator says: “Timing is everything”
Lady says:”But it’s not the only thing”
Awesome video
She did a double take on that shoe. We knew what she was thinking..
2:23. Dick jokes. Dick jokes. Dick jokes everywhere!
TheTrippleTKA size 18💀
Go long😂
This is interesting, they show more of this in TV! NFL NBA MLB NHL MLS players are all people too! :D
I love how she compares the 18' black shoe with her whole forearm.
Never so much happened behind the scene Go Bucs!
Hahaha this is nothing compared to what the nhl teams deal with. More equipment, plus they travel alot more than the nfl teams. And why doesn't the nfl teams have their own jets?
Idk why that's funny, like seriously I don't get it.

@4:58 so if they pack everything up at halftime, what do they wear in the second half?
As a steelers fan, this was hard to watch...
Lets Talk About Stuff you should've seen the NFC championship...I'm a packer fan
Terrell It should be easy. Browns are like the special needs kid that gets abused by his 3 older brothers.
Terrell as a Bucs fan it deserves a like
In the NHL you have to move more than just equipment bags.. You also have to move skate sharpeners etc. FOR 41 games a year...
2:27 when a white girl sees a black .. For the first time
Demetrius Davis lmfaoo
(-:
Jesus Christ man!m...😂
Demetrius Davis false
Cams Vikings true look it up
Makes you want to play for New England !!! We have extra large seats on our OWN plane ✈️
How much you think people that work for a NFL TEAM MAKE
She had that size 18 shoe in her hand... I wonder what she was really thinking about 🤔 😮
My son does this for the Bengals. Works 80 hour weeks. He's 24. and wouldn't trade this gig for anything in the world.
payed to win games my butt! they dont win crap!
Andy Matheny the buccaneers didn't do bad this last season, almost made it into the playoffs
Andy Matheny Bucs were kinda good this year
Andy Matheny we were good last year we would have made the playoffs if we won one more game
This aged well
That's interesting that they still have to go through TSA security for a privet chartered jet. Normally when you rent a privet jet, you just drive right up to it and walk on board.

The flight attendant ladies must love having them
They do. Sports charters tend to be very high in seniority for flight crews, and the airline will usually keep the same crew for the team in order to maintain comfort and familiarity.
Would love that kind of job. I have been in a warehouse industry for 13 years so I know alot about inventory and logistics.
Wow. I never thought all those road games were so much work.
this was the longest 6 minutes of my life
but those flight attendant 5:07 🔥🔥😍😍
And now, the buccaneers are in the super bowl. And they don't even have to go through this travel process. Unbelievable.
Linemen deserve first class. They’re also the second best paid after the quarterback
The Bucs and Steelers are not in the same conference, so Tampa only makes this trip every 8 years. Do the Bucs travel by land to Jacksonville or Miami?
5:11 The stewardess is practicing for when the players are back on the plane!!
she said.."wow its like my arm" lols
This is so cool
Did anyone else notice how awkward it was when the lady tried to get in the cabinet at 4:12 😂
I'd love a job like that behind the scenes br awesome.
Its amazing how much nfl players are treated like royalty.
there are alotta things that are the size of your arm besides their shoes lady.
ApexPredatoR 69 lmao😂😂😂😂
Good stuff nice video
Should have done this for an NBA team. They travel WAY more!
+rickdog02 Private charter flights too.
Brian Dixon at 1:38. JJC!
Try moving a brigade of troops half way across the world... guess who does all the work so the troops can focus on their job? ... the troops..
andrew gallant sir yes sir
A new pair of "normal" shoes for a short road trip every weekend? And they throw it away after that?
The real reason of homefield advantage
Does United kick them off the plane too?
didn't know there was this much work shoutout
Anybody think the fly at 2:32 was on their screen?
Is phone upside down at 1:04?
2:25 "it's like (the size of) my arm"
Imagine how hectic it must be for NBA managers for traveling.
all u carry is ur uniform, shoes, and phones and chargers that's pretty much it
United airlines :now tell the NFL players to get their plane lol.
taking the bucs on the road seems hard these days
That flight attendant tho
Thats a lot of planning. Crazy
I'd want to join the crew for baseball or basketball teams just because they travel more places lol.
nba has it the hardest, 4 games in 5 nights. back to backs.
adolf jr yea but they don't have near as much equipment or players than the nfl
Man I can imagine how long these men would travel on the road
I feel like an mlb or nba one of these would be more interesting, because they typically have a game the next day
