    Something I like about this game is that even when enemies evade attacks, it's still useful to have attacked them because it reduces their evasion stacks. It's like just having really weird block

      That is one thing I think that Darkest Dungeon 2 improved on. Dodge being a “resource” makes for much more interesting gameplay than having it be luck based, especially in a game as brutal as that one.

      Definitely makes sense, and I think this game does it well also.
      Like usually dodge chance is just there. Like if an enemy has an inherent 30% chance to dodge, it just will have that forever.
      But I like games where the dodge chance is something you can negate like if the enemy dodges you then their chance to dodge goes down. Because then it at least becomes a mind game. You have three mana and a 1 mana 4 damage attack and a 2 mana 8 damage attack. Do you play the 1 mana attack hoping the enemy dodges you and then their dodge chance is lowered for the 2 mana card, or do you risk it on the 2 mana card because their dodge is so low anyway. It AT LEAST encourages more thought than, “it doesn’t matter the order I play these, I just hope they don’t dodge the big attack.”
      Either that OR it being a resource like you mentioned where it’s guaranteed to happen but you can time it. Much better than like, “this gives you a 50% chance to dodge for three turns” and just, “this gives you a 100% chance to dodge the next attack”

    The game without meta progress is pretty hard, but after about 3 runs, it will become pretty easy.
    Just remember:
    Temporary numbers, such as the (current) mana, loaded ammo, and cards in draw or discard piles will not be permanently altered by the die, as the number will change on its own almost instantly, but they can still be very good when used well.
    Distorted only applies when permenantly altering a card, but when distorting a distorted card, it becomes glitched and replaced with a black card when you use it next.
    You CAN edit dice values on cards, so you can turn a d4 damage into d6 permanently, or use Buff to make it d4+d6.
    Game is all about using the die for the strongest impact possible, so changing your crossbow ammo happens once, but changing the reload number on it will add extra ammo many times.
    Similarly, changing an enemy's HP can do a ton of damage, but that only helps you this fight.
    Many many cards can become OP thanks to the one die, its just about finding how to break it best.

  • @FetesBrot
    @FetesBrot 2 місяці тому +3

    Ok some clarification. If you permanently change the value of a card it gets distorted. If you do this to a already distorted card it becomes glitched. If you play a glitched card it changes to a black card permanently. Temporary cards are created in combat and disappear after combat again. So if you use the exert on a supply card and then only use its clone you have basically found a way to permanently use this card without downsides for following combat. The same would go for distorting temporary cards. I don't know the interaction with glitching though.
    If you change the number of you draw pile the game tries to first fill your hand.
    To get what happens when you change the number of the draw pile you have to look at the max cards allowed in you hand. And the amount in you discard pile as well. If you change the number from 20 to 6, 14 cards need to be placed somewhere else. So the game tries to fill your hand. When its full it goes to the discard pile.
    The slow sword is actually 10 +12 when miracaled. That goes for all the cards. If it does not say explicitly the game resolves the card from top to bottom checking only if the condition is met and then executing it. That can be a huge boon. But sometimes it also fucks you over.
    I think that were the most misconceptions you had that i can explain without much spoiler of later content.

    My favorite game of the year. Dripping with charm. The passion evident in how every card gets a unique fully animated action.

    Have you ever seen a game played so badly, it makes you want to go get the game and play it yourself? Olexa is such a great marketing move lmaooo

    • @robertdavezac
      @robertdavezac 2 місяці тому

      This is the marketing strategy of so many shitty free mobile games, so it would be interesting if this was now being applied to legit games. There are plenty of other UA-camrs who have widely busted the game wide open, so that seems unlikely unless Olexa’s audience was worth whatever they would pay him and he would accept.

    When you change a card that’s distorted With the one die, it gains glitched. Glitched cards change into black cards after you use them

    FYI each different orb combination played totally differently! I personally think the first one (druid) is the hardest and least fun so I hope you keep going with the fire orb after this! That class is super fun! If you want you can unlock new classes very quickly and basically play a new one each run!

    In this game you either become successful builder, a happy go lucky pro or a barbarian thinking with its feet (BUT NOT STUPID!!)
    btw im the type that change pre constructed card to less value needed for transform because it has no malus
    Distorted relic?, yum!

    When you have Dicify or The One Die card in hand, before using them, can you not just drain your One Die charges to zero and then use them to gain more? That way you get to use your one die at least a couple of times every fight (Although it was great having a bunch of charges for the boss)

    He is cooking 👏👏! If there is something you can do with your deck, it's to not making it too big. I know that adding a cool card can be fun, but it's not really that great when you can simply add none and draw your good cards more often. (And when done right, it's even more fun 😮) In other words, like many combo/deckbuilder games, you should build around 1 or 2 things, and not take more cards because they are good "in general", only by "themselves". But I have faith anyway, I'm sure you can make it to the city !
    Please play more. 🙏 I love what you do ! ❤ I love your content !

    • @smbsmw1111
      @smbsmw1111 2 місяці тому

      Eh, I would actually disagree, with the amount of free draw you get, card piles are a viable strat, especially if we are talking Sage, who can cycle like 40 cards on one turn. I feel the one thing he is missing is just how good corrupted relics can be, even with default d6.

    • @Natilatoux
      @Natilatoux 2 місяці тому

      @@smbsmw1111 Yeah, but depleating an enemy health bar can become more tricky the more you progress, and I still think that drawing some good cards several times that you built around (because your deck is short) is better than drawing few of many good card that don't work together. And sure you can draw lots of cards, but you don't necessarly have the mana for them. He does not have a bad deck right now, but I'm warning him just in case.

    I gotta say, the game is DIFFICULT. but if you get some synergies rolling, you can easily stomp through the latter half of the game.

    • @ededdneddy4ever34
      @ededdneddy4ever34 2 місяці тому

      I thought the game was difficult until I realize the play is just saving your dice for the boss fights. You can easily get through act 1 and 2 by rolling their health bars down. Then by act 3 your deck is so ridiculously broken you steamroll everything in a turn or two

      I love when someone figures out one strategy that beats some of the earliest pitfalls in the earliest decks/challenges/difficulties, and confidently decides that means they’ve solved the game.
