The not tracking calories thing is 100% true. The longest I’ve stuck to a cut and lost the most weight I didn’t track shit. I just ate real foods, no bs, low carbs. Everytime I track calories it leads to stress, restriction, and ultimately a huge binge.

I find tracking helpful for understanding my body and how it responds to different things, like where I am in my monthly cycle, eating my emotions, etc.
But my focus is what types of foods I'm eating, when I'm eating them, and how much, not calories.
@@elsh332 tracking calories for a week or 2 to understand what a normal good day of eating should look like, also getting accustomed to which foods you can have with which in a day to satisfy cravings while not going overboard is beneficial. But the constant stress over every little calorie is no bueno. Even when you track calories it’s still an estimate, so worrying about it is useless. Eat intuitively and listen to your body and mind most importantly, but set aside small goals for your health such as no processed sugar 4/7 days of the week or 2/7 low carb days of the week. Balance is key. Burn a few hundred calories a day through exercise and I guarantee you will not gain any weight unless you have a binge eating disorder.
I say tracking is good for people who don’t really have a good grasp on nutrition yet and are weening themselves off junk, but once you know what you should be eating it’s not super vital unless you have a very specific goal

He mentioned he is getting more thirsty the more he drinks. He's flushing out all his minerals and electrolytes. He should definitely change that as that can get pretty dangerous with this intensity of working out

yeah this is really bad advice. I remember some guy died during a marathon because paramedics fed him only water with no electrolytes essentially bursting his cells.
Honestly his drive and will power to succeed is incredible but truthfully he’s over doing he should have simply hired a coach and nutritionist be patient and don’t rush the process cause I’m scared he get injured and loose motivation go back to old ways or just push himself too much to a mental breaking point ,like yes you can have McDonald in moderation ounce or twice a month it’s not like an alcoholic or drug like ok stop consuming and never go back

this guys personality is dope, seems like such a nice dude. Super happy for him with all his progress. Taking a year off to focus only on his health shows how dedicated he is to getting into shape and being the healthiest version of himself. I pray when he does return to working that he is able to balance everything, meal prep the whole week on the weekend and find that perfect fitness + work balance

Working out helps little in order to lose weight, it's a common myth, look it up. Changing your eating habits in the only thing which truly works and it's primarily that change which made him lose weight.

I admire Simons dedication and commend him for his results, but I think a disclaimer is necessary. You do NOT need to drink that much water a day in order to lose weight. Most individuals don’t even get the recommended amount of 2.7 liters for active women and 3.5 l for active men so upping your intake by even a little bit will probably help most people. You can die of hyponatremia due to high intakes of water. There is also such a thing as overtraining and it can have very real and negative impacts on your body physiologically, and hormonally. Most people can benefit from upping their daily activity by even 45 min-60 min once a day, 5 times a week and still see results. You do NOT need to workout like Simon to get results. He just wanted to purge bad habits in a short amount of time which can also lead to relapse since its not sustainable.

For water it just depends if you sweat and move enough and also weight and height goes into how much you can drink
And he’s taking the supplements for the minerals he’s peeing out so it works for him, this definitely not sustainable for the normal people working 9-5s

I just hope this guy finds a sustainable way to continue to not get depressed after he falls into his baseline and isn’t chasing something unobtainable for the rest of his life. I wish him a life thats well rounded and has a variety of foods too- this will build a great foundation and I wish him a lifestyle after where he loves himself and even tries therapy if he still has self hate after
I wholeheartedly agree, as someone who has also lost 100lbs ... it took me 15 years of yo yo dieting .. extremes..and binge eating... to finally realize i needed therapy. Now I* can finally lead a balanced life and maintain my weightloss in peace

@@SimonGoliathLafontant comes from experience being overweight most my life and doing extreme exercising/dieting which got me from a 6ft 265lbs obese 38 waist to 143lb 30 waist and 10%body fat. The moment I tried to live a normal life and went to my baseline 180lb 34 inch waist I wasn’t happy again even though my physique was still amazing then I had cancer during Covid and was back wearing 38 waist pants. I kept my 30 waist pants chasing that physique. I’ve beaten cancer just over a year ago and threw out the 30 waist pants and am back wearing 34 waisted pants and at a good 200lbs. On meds everyday to regulate my thyroid and hormones and live a well balanced life and exercise. It’s a constant journey still with life’s ups and downs but I have my health and I’m getting lean and big with a better mindset and balance. I’m with you on this journey brother!

This is not sustainable for the average person. This looks like a full-time job. How the hell can he afford that house, gym membership, supplements, etc. with zero income? Must be rich already.

So much of this is so unhealthy its really shocking to see.
1- over consumption of water
2- no time for social life or a job
3- overtraining that could lead to injury

I understand the benefits and where he has come from, its very impressive that he has changed some really bad habits, but this is so extreme and he could end up back where he was as this is so restrictive and the overtraining could lead to injury, plus these new changes could have a negative effect on him and his health.

I feel like he is over consuming water to "try" to reduce the amount of loose skin after losing that much weight. I've been losing weight for a while and whenever i looked up loose skin almost every article says "drink lots of water and use moisturizers to hydrate skin"
He can just shed the weight by upping his protein to gr per lbs of bodyweight,working out max 1 hour a day and eating 1500cals or less a day with fasting and OMAD diet. Instead he does everything to the extreme which is not sustainable and he would have to find a more reasonable lifestyle anyways.
2 of them are cardio so not that injury prone. I do agree with water intake over consumption but working out that much could lead to a-lot of systematic fatigue
This man trains like a true athlete, he should keep this up and see where it takes him. If this is a 5 month transformation this dedication is insane! Really inspiring, guys. Great work.
he trains the complete opposite of a true athlete, doesnt take care of his rest -> worksout way too many times way too intensly, eats dogshit (no minerals and vitamins from vegetables) while 'abusing' multivitamins which do really the opposite of what he thinks, and drinking 11 liters of water just worsens everything

You can tell by the androgen sensitive muscle groups and how jacked they are compared to the rest of the body + that transformation is not possible in 5 months, he's an asshole willing to lie to make himself feel better and look better on social media than actually help people that are in his situation. But, aren't most influencers like that? I just ignored the rest the of the video. Will is a great creator, but this video wasn't it.

@@GeorgeLifterMann He has a video on his channel explaining that he did steroids at 17 which shrunk his balls and led him to be depressed, and is the reason he became morbidly obese. He's on TRT now because his body doesn't produce natural testosterone anymore. He's not an asshole OR lying.
@@Honkden hard to know what is true nowadays, he is suspicious as trt levels would not cause the amount of difference in fat loss alone, maybe he takes more, etc. I know because i'm on TRT, hell there are tons of people on TRT that go to the gym consistently and don't see results like that. and tbh anyone can get TRT, your test labs will be drawn and may be normal (aka in reference range), but if you complain of symptoms of depression, low sex drive/erection quality, low energy, etc, they will still give you a TRT prescription none the less. i dont buy his story of why he is on trt that he took it while young and now he doesn't produce natural testosterone anymore. it takes a long time on high-dose testosterone to cause your testes to stop producing testosterone anymore, for example in the HAARLEM study they looked at time it takes for test to return to normal after athletes took a test cycle (had to cycle for at least 6 weeks to atleast be in the study, but study participants had a median cycle duration of 3.5 months (up to 11 months for a cycle - frekin crazy, anyways)) and average time to return to normal test was 3 months. either this dude went ape and took incredibly high doses of steroids (and for a long time at that), which i doubt, or he just came up with this rediculous excuse to have an excuse to the public for being on gear. no matter how you look at it, story is insanely unbelievable - getting his results on trt? no way
sure its awesome that he lost the weight but the truly inspiring thing would be to do this WHILE STILL WORKING AND HAVING A LIFE!!! this really doesnt give hope to the 9-5 people that need to change
Most people take this step while keeping a job so there are plenty of others to look up to. For some reason he was able to quit working for a year and I cant hate him for it. Id do the same if I could. Your version of "Having a life" and his are obviously different.

Drinking this much water is genuinely extremely fucking dangerous. Like you can die from water intoxication. Also it flushed out a bunch of necessary minerals. Also its not needed whatsoever, youll literally be fine drinking 2-3 litres per day, maybe a little extra if you sweat a LOT.

Really glad Will asked the question at the end about eventually finding balance cause truthfully, it’s going to be VERY hard for him to keep this weight off, because the current lifestyle isn’t sustainable
you can do 90% of this and still work, run in the morning to work or a gym near work for cardio, gym before work, gym after work, infra red sauna's after work, hard to eat the way he does but im sure he can find a way, just need to be the right amount of Manic and you can figure it out.

I lost 110 pounds in a very short time and have kept it off for 3 years now, but I have not been able to find a healthy balance due to fear of regaining the weight. It will be tough for him I’d imagine.

The part that broke me just a little was the "I don't track calories because I didn't want to do too much" and then... I work out multiple times a day, eat every 2 hours (on an alarm) and the list goes on and on, I'm never the person to harsh anyone's mellow but I don't see how this is a sustainable lifestyle long term... honestly, the fact that he's sustained it as long as he has is insane... I'm assuming this is his job... because there's just no time for anything else. I've lost 120lbs *albeit over a much longer timeframe* but I feel that I've been able to use that time to build healthy habits that I can actually sustain over the rest of my life. I wish the absolute best for him and hope he finds a way to maintain that doesn't consume his life. ❤💜

I don't think he is planning on doing this forever, just to get the 100 pounds off. he said he has a chronic condition that is only going to get worse over time which is probably the motivation to get this weight off as soon as possible.
@mzabs1871 right... the problem is... when the year is up and he has to go back to work... and all the new "habits" he's built are no longer possible... how is he possibly going to maintain that weight loss? Any fat person will tell you... losing weight is the "easy part"... maintaining it long term is the hard part... and without learned healthy habits, it's all but impossible... it's the reason that statistically over 80% of weight loss ends in regain. Because everyone is only interested in how fast they can lose weight... they aren't thinking about the long term.
It was only when I stopped thinking about how fast I could lose it and started thinking about how I could maintain it that I was able to lose over 120 lbs... (and still losing).
He could defy all of the statistics (and I truly hope he does). I just hope that others who are watching don't leave this video thinking that this is the best way to go about losing 100 lbs. 🤷♀️
You dont need to eat every 2 hours that's not normal, that's a stupid myth. Fasting would benefit you greatly. And focus on mostly protein so you feel full. You don't need to work out multiple times a day, that means you are not going hard enough. 3 times a week at high intensity would be enough for you starting out with 2 meals a day. You got your information all wrong and this why your results are bad.
The 15 multivitamin part and drinking 12L of water a day is questionable to me if it's healthy.. and he could incorporate more vegetables in his diet.

The multivitamins he said it was because of Crohns disease... They can't absorb nutrients like we can so it's probably not as bad for him

Would love an update later to see how bro adjusts to living like a normal human again after his year off. His dedication is admirable but all this seems wildly unsustainable unless he just becomes an influencer full time.

@@jetrouski76 Pretty sure he said it hasnt even been 6 months yet...so less than 1/2 a year....and he said he's taking off a year from normal life. No job, no socializing , no anything. He'll eventually need to return back to a normal life with like...a job and all.
I went through a similar journey, 1 year rehabilitation learning to walk again, which was a few steps, long rest, repeat for 8-12h a day with adjusted exercises. Once I learned to walk again and savings were good enough, I took another year off and pushed myself in my workouts. morning/evening workouts, lots of steady state cardio, learning a new language and getting an education for a different sector. Of this routine only lifting 1h in the morning remained. Once I rejoined the work-force I dropped my cardio down to commuting by foot or bike, 10k steps a day on average. Dropped 2 of my meals to compensate, which I didn't miss since I had the routine of work and planned breaks. The routine changed but what needed to stick, stuck. It's discipline even when the plan changes.
It was the best choice of my life, coming from bedbound my muscles were athropied so I looked anorexic once I dropped the excess weight, gained 20kg to look normal and still be a size S-M whilst being 5'10. I hope it's the same for this guy.
@@jetrouski76 once he starts to live a normal life all that time spent in the gym will be mostly gone, hes going to have a hard time maintaining and healthy lifestyle when the main contributor to his weightloss is from working out and cardio
I hope this is sustainable for him. I was like him in the past where I was obessed in losing weight back in college, where it was easier to control food intake and the gym was accesible. As my environment changes it takes more willpower to sustain the routine, especially where I am mentally and physically tired from work.
Desk jobs kill you slowly. Especially when the sedentary nature of it is pores with disgusting “comfort” food that people bring in cake and doughnuts.

Good insight. I belive taking a day or two days off is nesscary not to be burn out in the long run. I lost 90lb and still going strong. I take a day off everyother 4 days.
I would really like to know, these people who diet and train all day, how do they pay the bills? because this type of routine is difficult for those who have a 9-5 job

But man, watching his old order at MCD's was rough... because it was me in a mirror. I hate myself and have for years and I keep trying to change and fail by falling short, getting off the good wagon and back on the bad. Y'all have my admiration... before I saw this video I spoke to a trainer at VASA fitness named Cameron today and I'm going in for a consult to share my notes on my own workouts I've created and why. On my approach, knowledge, and more. He's right, complicated it too much and you're more likely to fail. I wish him and you the best... I am trying to get there too. It's so hard.

I used to drink 7-9L a day at one point at 67kg, so for a person so big 12L should be nothing.
@@badass6300 The kidneys of a healthy adult can flush out 20 to 28 L of water each day, but they can only get rid of about 1 L each hour. 10-15L a day is already a risk.

Good for him, but PSA to anyone trying to lose weight- You don’t have to be doing this obsessive of a lifestyle change. It’s as simple as a calorie deficit, that’s all you need.

it probably is for a normal weight person, but his body needs to cool down with the amount of exercise he does and with that high percentage of fat. I'm guessing that if he didn't drink that much water he could have worse heart problems trying to pump so much blood at really high temperature.
He doesn't want to complicate things, but his entire day is literally complicated.
its not that complicated, its simply routine based. work out 3x a day, eat the same thing 7x. like how much simpler could it get

Love that you did this, great job! Most people don't have a schedule where they can workout and eat legit all day. There's an extra small percentage of lucky people that can keep that routine.
him saying he needed to be reminded to eat was so refreshing to hear because i am obese but i dont really eat. So knowing someone is doing it and they also need reminders really makes me feel seen!
As a medical doctor, this video raises numerous concerns:
1. You eat so much that your gut cannot handle all of that food. This may be a large aspect of what is causing your Crohn’s disease - a damaged gut will likely promote autoimmune disease.
2. You exercise so much that you place a tremendous amount of stress on your body.
3. The combination of the two does not seem in the lease bit safe. You’re losing weight, but I believe you’re damaging your body in numerous ways that you do not realize.
4. This lifestyle does not teach any sense of self-control. I doubt you will be able to remain at the weight you want to be once you’ve lost all your weight, because then you have to maintain - and do you want the rest of your life back? Your full time job is fitness. This is not healthy.
5. No greens except dry scoop? Really? You’re not teaching yourself how to eat properly. There is absolutely no self control here.
6. 12 L of water also seems concerning. Your kidneys are probably not happy with you. I doubt you’re damaging them, but the loss of magnesium is concerning given all its important functions. You’re probably still deficient, even if your lab work says your levels are normal. Most Americans’ total body stores of magnesium are low.
I cannot support this. This video is massively concerning.

I am not a doctor, but the 12 L of water a day immediately raised concerns to me. That's 3 gallons of water, and unless you're literally hiking through the desert all day, you do not need that much.

I don't disagree with most of the points @DaKrazedKyubizt made. It is still healthier than what he was eating and how he was living before going on this journey of weightloss.

I used to drink 11 liters of water per day when I got from 232lbs down to 148lbs (105kg to 67kg) (heaviest I've ever been to lightest I've ever been in my adult life) in 8 months.
What worked for me:
-Intermitted fasting (skipping breakfast, then having 3-4 larger meals) between 1-9 pm eating period / 16 to 8 hours
-Lots of water (11 liters) - the trick is to use a lot of salt in all your meals - eat gherkins etc.
-Chewing gums (sugar free - calories are nullified by the chewing action) all day long whenever I'm not having a meal
-Mouth wash and brushing your teeth whenever you feel hungry with a bad taste in your mouth
-Walking outside once or twice a day in low pace while listening to a podcast or a comedy special or an audiobook for an hour
-I do weightlifting religiously now, but I did not do it back than when I dropped all that weight. Honestly, it felt like it was almost effortless.
Trust me, it's so much easier than you think. You really get used to the morning hunger, then for the rest of the day you will not feel hungry.
The only "difficult" part is quite a few visits to the restroom. At least once an hour.
Oh btw, I was working in an office environment 9-5 , 6 days a week with 1h of commute and socializing after work, dancing classes and living with my partner (additional responsibilities towards my partner etc.)
It really felt effortless, it wasn't even planned really, I did not set any goals, no calorie restrictions, just meal prep for the whole week. It's very easy, give it a shot and see how you go.

11 liters of water is absolutely braindead, no matter how much salt or magnesium u take you will always have a disbalance of electrolytes unless you are somehow perfectly getting the amount of electrolytes per day, which mind you not is not only salt and magnesium.
Especially taking even a single multivitamin, as theyve been proven years ago to be unhelpful and possibly more harmful than useful.
Mouth wash and brushing your teeth whenever feeling hungry is another sure way of ruining your teeth for no reason.
What would actually work is dropping all the bullshit and building discipline and habits not doing gimmics

I have a feeling he's going to need to gradually change his routine over the next few months; start to steadily reduce water intake, probably make some adjustments to diet. I'm not surprised he has issues with cramping; that water intake is flushing all the nutrients out. The impressive part is the gradual and ordered approach to lowering maximum lifts to a more sustainable level.
He has chrons so hes gonna be cramping regardless. Its also why he takes the supplements.

Good job...I'll be 50 yrs old this year. January first 2023 I was 362 pounds..today I'm down to 242...120 pound down...it feels great..continue to push hard the reward is greater.
I'll be 51 in December about a year and a half ago I was around 380 pounds now I am between 320 to 330 not bad but I need both of my knees replaced and my right hip is on it's way out just from compensating for my knees. I was in the 8th grade the first time I twisted my left knee and then 15 or more times during double days football practice before my freshman year I finally told the coaches one more time and I'm done got my GED at 15. My right knee has been a one and done complete dislocation it did the Zorro sign being young and dumb in my mid twenties at home not work but I was at work two day's later doing asphalt repair cement ditch sandblasting and crack filing stupid right just two day's if you don't have bills to pay or family to feed working10 hour days without any pain meds not even now and I have people telling me how you didn't have this or that company pay to get things fixed when the injuries were not work related. To top it all off you try and get help from social security and or disability benefits and get lied to and denied don't tell them you want to get medical procedures done so you'll be able to go back into the workforce again and provide for yourself because if there's anything that can be done to fix it whether or not you can afford it your not disabled. Sorry for the rant just sick of all the BS if I was a horse someone would have taken out behind the barn and scratch my chin a bit thin put one right between my eye's.

This was such a refreshing look at weight loss - I've went through what he's gone through ( from 415 lbs down to 219 in ~400days) and this guy's mentality was on point. His goals are not what 99.9% of other people's goals are, so he's doing what 99.9% of other people won't do. He's made up his mind and chosen to alter his entire trajectory to attain the goal of bettering himself. That is what it takes and its incredible to see - very inspiring! My man is killin it’. While you definitely don’t have to do an absolutely insane lifestyle change like this to get results I understand that so many people do so much better when they are very rigid with themselves.
My biggest piece of advice from somebody who lost 60 pounds doing Keto and intense restrictive diets (not really my thing anymore) is that when it’s time to go back to a more maintenance style of eating and working out is to MAKE SURE to have some sort of support system to keep you accountable. Whether that’s going to therapy or plugging yourself in with some friends who are going through the same situation as you, having other people around to keep you accountable and motivated is so important.
😮Eating and working out how intensely he is just isn’t sustainable for most people for the rest of their lives and the transition period can be so difficult. You almost feel like you’re cheating when you actually eat something that you truly enjoy and it’s so easy to fall off the wagon and crush 2 combo meals from Micky D’s again lol

I’m supportive of his journey, and I’m gonna get flayed over this, but i think he’s on some kind of gear. Just look at his jaw line and transformation in under a year
I was skeptical till he started talking about his loss of strength I don’t know, but somebody losing 100lbs in 5 months whilst still maintaining that kind of frame , on top of eating 7 times a day not even counting calories , it’s a little bit sus , if anybody else lost 100lbs in 5 months it would be a complete crash diet and they’d look like they’ve got a terminal illness not this full with traps bursting out their vest.
Dude I’m thinking the same thing. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it though. But I definitely don’t think he’s natural. If you’ve taken gear or been around dudes on gear, there are multiple telltale signs of them being on something. And he has a lot of them. But hey, it’s his life. I hope it all works out for him. Probably healthier being on a low dose of T and working out daily than being 400 pounds and morbidly obese.

I really hope people know this is an unnecessarily aggressive way to lose weight... I lost over 100lbs lifting the big 3, 3 times a week (45 minutes in the gym), jumping rope 3 times a week, walking 4 miles a day, drinking 3-4 litres of water a day and really enjoying my cooking (3 meals a day: pre, post and soup before bed). No supplements, no modcons, yoga every morning.
Learn to cook and eat some vegetables.
Yeah I agree, but obviously everyone has different goals, and as he said he quit his job and does fitness 7 days a week. So it’s understandable the way he does things. Definitely not the healthiest. And most people should do what he’s doing.
Kind of curious how you structured this? Seems like you were getting about 3 workouts a day?
- Yoga in the morning,
- 4 mile walk at some point.
- Then either a weightlifting session or a jump session.

We're you effectively doing like 20:4 fasting regime, with two meals and soup? So eat a meal, workout, eat 2nd meal, and then soup a bit later?
I think it's more of the mindset that conditions the actions. He must have detested what he saw in the mirror and so in order to achieve a sense of balance in the mid point, he needs to go just as hard in the opposite direction.

With regard to the food, I mostly work afternoon - evening, So I'd eat breakfast around an hour before leaving for the gym, 10am or so, and eat again after, around 1-2pm. Then I'd eat soup and fish at about 10pm when I got home from work. Not much fasting to speak of but a long gap between lunch and dinner that I got used to (in Spain we eat dinner at 10).
I was getting one workout a day. The yoga I speak of was and is mostly to rehabilitate massive knee surgery, and is not incredibly taxing... aimed at getting my squat back. I ran GCZLP 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and jumped rope for half an hour on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. Bare in mind that the cardio was short and intense and was aimed at improving my mental wellbeing, not at fat loss. My general change of lifestyle contributed mostly to the fat loss, and the 4 miles a day became automatic after a while, sometimes exceeding 15 miles on a Sunday. (I walk and read, walk and read, walk and read, until the sun goes down). I also don't consider walking a workout. It's a necessity.

I work afternoons-evenings and go to the gym before work, so will eat my breakfast before gym at about 1000-1100 am and lunch before leaving at around 1300-1400. Then I'll have dinner when I get back at about 2200. Not much fasting to speak of but a huge gap between lunch and dinner which I got used to (in Spain we eat dinner at 2200)

@3:52 I agree with him. I feel like that’s why so many fail. They over complicate it. With macros, calorie counting apps, an array of supplements. Just start. Be consistent and worry about all that stuff after you’ve overcome the first obstacle of just going to the gym or eating healthier.

I feel like I'm almost exactly in his position. About to turn 30 this year, went from 310 - 259 (today) in about 6 months. It feels surreal and I cant wait to keep going.
I'll be honest tho, the last 13lbs lost were cause I was sick for about a month and couldn't workout or eat much, so most weight loss last month was muscle and I'm scared to gain it all back in fat instead. But this dude is so inspiring.

This is what works for him. I started at 339 and currently at 281. Its hard to lose weight.

Very impressed with the weight loss, great work. I do have a question though. Did you have to quit your job to accomplish this, or do you work from home somehow? I don't see how you can start your day that early, maintain that strict eating and workout schedule, and somehow work a full time job.
