- Getting Smokey Yunick's Hot Vapor Engine ready to install back in the car.
In this video, we prepare the HVC {Hot Vapor Cycle} Horizon 2.2L engine for the reinstallation back into the 1983 Smokey Yunick Plymouth Horizon, and the trip to the home shop. With the inaugural trip on Faye Hadley's "crappy trailer" we bring you along for the ride.
We hope you have enjoyed this series, and invite you to leave questions, comments and suggestions. If you haven't subscribed to this channel, we invite you to do so and thank you for watching!

Danny super geeking on this build ☝️🤟👽🤓🎬
Thanks for the video
I liked the vid alot, a plausible future the effort and the goal! Dial that motor in, correctly please Daniel and Faye!!!
Should install well Daniel......Well done 😁
I saw an SY1 intake in the cabinet. I saw a mad max interceptor blower engine!!
Yes sir!
I think Pinnacle Performance and Daniel Solitz did a great job, I love Shop Mom, Daniel, and of course Mrs. Hadley.
To the Texans, eat well and live better
Maybe you should Loctite or safety wire the air filter hold down nut. Hate to see it get sucked through the turbo and engine.
Nice!, can't wait to see it on the Horizon and running; btw, do you've an 'horreo' in your home?, that's typical of the whole N of Spain, specially here, in Asturias.
No we don’t, Shop Mom had to look it up.🤔
Shop mom I was wrong. On the door of that truck it has Smokey's automotive service and the bottom line is t small for me to read at the moment
And on the tailgate of that truck it says best dang garage in town
😎🍺👍🇦🇺
Technical question. Being turbo is located downstream from fuel air mixture, Unlike conventional turbo location prior to fuel injection, Does the turbo have a waste gate? and if so where on engine is activating vacuum originating. Pressure or vacuum?. My turbo sucks in engine oil because I suspect my waste gate is not dialed in. Throttle plate closed engine revving and manifold vacuum is sucking in oil thru turbo. Just wondering what Smokey might of figured out if you all have any insights.
The turbo does have a wastegate but the turbo now does other work. His books and pattens explain how it works. I should do a video on just this subject.
@@MrDanielSoliz What actuates Smokey's waste gate. Is it vacuum from the carburetor! or manifold pressure or what forces push or pull on it. When my carb throttle plate is closed but the turbo is spooling along and thus creating high vacuum pulling on throttle plate it seems to suck in engine lubrication oil from the turbos oil journal. I'd love to know how Smokey regulated the waste gate to open and bypass the turbo's exhaust impeller. I'll be looking for when you discuss this on video. Thanks, Daniel
