Cool stuff. This is the model I'm shooting for as next uppgrade so I appreciate the time your taking to show how it's working for you. Awesome B-Day find btw!!!...
Congratulations! What a Birthday present! Man I know that excitement and how it's so hard to not get to crazy and cuzz like a sailor with glee😅🤣😅 I have purchased and run about every popular detector out since 2011 and really getting antsy about getting ahold of one of these. Going to purchase a 600 on Monday and learn it while waiting for my 800 to eventually arrive. Keep up the videos on the 600, everyone is covering the 800...we need 600 coverage, even though they are physically the exact same machines...only difference is the software/firmware they are programmed with👍
MiTreasureHunter Maybe - good luck making it available externally whilst keeping it waterproof.. how ever - the 600 is a decent mashine and I think with its added accessoires and functions the 800 is worth its price. The point is.. fiddling with the 600 to make it an 800 doesn‘t worth it.. simply decide which one suits you best and off you go ☺️
magicmaui77 that was not the point, the point was just to inform people they are the same machine, 600 is just a software tuned down 800. That IF you were to flash the programming of an 800 to the 600, they would be the same. I don't condone or suggest messing with these expensive machines just buy the one that fits your needs. But just know that minus the profile button Minelab could release a software upgrade and magically your 600 woud be an 800. I wish that there were more physical differences to make them truely like 2 different models.
Good video and enjoyed the long dig segments even when they were nails as that is educational. One thing you might try during that scenario is to turn on the all-metal mode and sweep to see if those items were then showing up as minus numbers 0 to -9 after the sweep shows a good number and then goes to negative quickly. This turns off the discrimination while it is on. I saw somewhere this is a way to help rule out some targets as ferrous and not coins, especially bottle caps which can come in the nickel range. I have had success in confirming this as well. Of course I will dig them anyway to educate myself.
Ground balance will help with the iron bias, also your wire towards the coil is a bit lose so it can throw false signals. Also notch out anything below a 4. And adjust sensitivity as needed
Thanks for sharing! I'd like to see the same testing done with the iron not notched out. Also, I'd like to see what effect that iron bias has on good targets, deep ones and those masked by iron.
Why did you still get a sound with iron bias of 3? Shouldn’t that completely cancel out the grunts of iron? I have the Nox 600. Even with Iron bias at 3 I hear the iron. Is this normal?
Good idea wearing gloves, I almost cut the tip of my finger completely off on glass digging without gloves in the middle of the woods no first aid, had to put chewing tobacco on it to stop the bleeding and wrap it in a piece of clothing. Always wore gloves after that. Yes tobacco will stop bleeding very fast.
So running on iron bias 1 increases your odds in getting a better target correct than running on 0. I just got my Nox 600 and im trying to take in all info i can find. Im a AT Max guy and had pushed that machine to the limit and im wanting to exceed with the Nox 600. One thing i notice is the 600 loves depth
wayne_etc I am wanting to buy either the 6 or the 8 but I need more feed back. Live digs like these that can help me understand why I need an upgrade.. please keep sharing these videos
Blue Grass Diggers thank you. I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied with either machine. I just couldn't justify the extra cost for what features you get for the 800.
Tim with Dig Dogs here. Great birthday find with the equinox 👍. What vdi number did the large cent come in as? Thats a bucket lister for me and im hunting in areas that should produce one eventually. Im using the equinox600 and love it👍. Happy birthday btw🙏.
People over-use pinpointers. They are for fine-tuning. But i cannot see the point of having a brilliant detector on the ground while you faff around with a carrot. I dig lots of signals in a session and frankly it would take all day if I arsed about with a pinpointer to this degree and took so long recovering a target. I simply don't have that much time!! Once the signal is out In situations like this, spread the spoil heap a bit, waft over with the machine and narrow it down...then put handfuls of soil to the coil. Much quicker. many of my targets are small and not easy to spot.
To be honest, that doesn't matter... the point of being a responsible hobbyist... is to leave nary a sign that you were there... no matter where you hunt, except on your own property if that's your preference. Your video, would give the impression to somebody that doesn't know better, that this method is acceptable. Sorry, but in my opinion, it's not, especially in public areas. I rarely criticize, but I'm asking you to always assume that someone of authority is watching and to dig accordingly. That way you protect everyone's ability to enjoy the hobby (by example)... especially if you're going to make videos.
Thank you for taking it so well. I appreciate that. There's a lot of helpful information in the video and for that I, also thank you.... my 800 is set to arrive tomorrow and it's great to have a little better understanding of the "Metal Bias" setting.
Happy Birthday and congrats on the find! Thanks for the great tip, I will try it on my 600, I’m a newbie and appreciate your expertise.
Rick Robison My pleasure, and thanks for the kind words.
Happy Birthday and Congratulations on your first Large Cent!!!
akoutsouradis Thanks. I appreciate it.
Cool stuff.
This is the model I'm shooting for as next uppgrade so I appreciate the time your taking to show how it's working for you.
Awesome B-Day find btw!!!...
Dirk Ayala Thanks Dirk. You'll love the 600.
Happy Birthday, You did a great job on how iron bias works. Flat Iron is not easy to discriminate.
Ronald Dvorak Thanks! Agreed. Flat iron is tricky.
Happy birthday to you man great find
Sonofadigger 1 Thanks Son!

MiTreasureHunter Thanks! You'll love the 'Nox. Fantastic machines!
That not completely true - it's missing the user profile button :)
magicmaui77 inside the housing the button is there.

Big congrats! I’ve never found one either in 15 years of digging.
Happy birthday😁
That's what it is all about! Congrats Wayne!
Bobby Short Thanks Bobby!

Haha nice largie! On your birthday also. What a bday present. Congrats.
Thanks Mr. Bungle. It was a shocker.
Congrats you handled it awsome
👊
Happy birthday mate
Gary Green Thanks Gary.
Congrats on your large cent!! Awesome I got the nox on order myself. I subscribed and can't wait to see what you find with it. T-Hawk
Backcountry Diggers Thanks! I subbed back,
Great find wayne! thats a bucket lister for me.
coin spader Thanks. I still can't believe it.

Happy Birthday!!
Iffy Signals Thanks Iffy!
🎈🎉 Happy Birthday !🎉🎈👍🏼
Kathleen LoVerso Thanks Kathleen!
Congrats one the LC!👍
Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it next time I'm in a similar environment.
Congrats great find!
Jacco de Weger Thanks!
Did you notice that plant at the front, at 5:20 - 5:30: that is eatable. It is called 'bieslook' in Dutch; probably 'chive' in English...
I did not know that!
Why did you still get a sound with iron bias of 3? Shouldn’t that completely cancel out the grunts of iron? I have the Nox 600. Even with Iron bias at 3 I hear the iron. Is this normal?
It is if there really is iron under the coil. Turn OFF the horseshoe if you don't want to hear iron.
Matt Bortz A must have for sure!
That's a older large cent what year is it?
Forrest Stinnett It's a draped bust. Can't read the year though.

WOW, your FIRST large cent after 20 years. WOW-congrats. Also Happy freaking birthday!!!!Diggin' w/ Rob!
Flthunder Yep! And thanks!
What was the VDI on the large cent?
I don't remember. It's tough going by VDI at this site because of so much iron.
So I wonder what iron biased set on 8 is for?
Lol
🤣🤣😂
Great job
Thank you sir! I miss that spot...would love to hit it with the small coil!
I really didn’t understand your test. You have set up your iron bias but still got all kind of trash?
Yes. In a site like this you pretty much have to dig very iffy signals to find good stuff.
Were you in an "old" field and had you found anything old there before???Rob
Flthunder Look at my past videos. All the "in the wild" videos were in this spot.
Nice find on that large cent, it took me 20 years to get a silver dollar.
Thanks. I've found a silver half (walking liberty) but not a dollar.
I like to get one too... I’m currently using a new E-Trac
RavenSeventy8 Also a great machine!
The falsing on those nails is why they recommend not detecting in iron bias 0
Gleo Runyon 3rd Yep. I've been running iron bias at 1.
Id prefer a to dig 20 nails then miss a good target too masking but hey that's just me
Awesome find! I have yet to find a largie. 😊👍
Admonish the Metal ***sending vibes for good finds***
😁
Why not a backhoe?
Next time.

Why did you get the 600 and not the 800?
RavenSeventy8 The 600 has all I need. Same performance as the 800 for $250 cheaper.
wayne_etc I am wanting to buy either the 6 or the 8 but I need more feed back. Live digs like these that can help me understand why I need an upgrade.. please keep sharing these videos
Blue Grass Diggers thank you. I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied with either machine. I just couldn't justify the extra cost for what features you get for the 800.
wayne_etc Nice, I believe the only difference is the gold searching frequencies?
RavenSeventy8 There are some other differences as well. More customizable settings.
Great job mate enjoyed the video,an good work trying out the setting 👍
Kels Dreaming thanks for the kind words. Good luck and happy hunting.
Yea man... I remember my 1st...
Unforgettable ;)

Tjhenderson Not sure. Numbers were bouncing all over the place due to the nails. And thanks!!
You need a minlab pinpointer

I generally agree with you. I only pull out the pin pointer if I'm having trouble locating the target.
Your coil cord was very slack near the coil
Dirt Fishing Newfoundland Yes, it was. Will remedy next time.
Picked up a used 600 with the etrac I have fe coins remind me that 600 has
Yes
Wayne Etcetera thanks that etrac is a hard machine to learn like I always say that one has about as much buttons as a microwave oven
all this faffing about with pinpointers does my head in tbh.
I had to Google "faffing". But yeah, I agree.
Hi nox 600 is simular to nox 800 i dont now what model buy is point pay 200 hundred more for nox 800
I'm perfectly happy with my 600. Of course, everyone who has an 800 is probably very happy with it.
Suscrived and like nice video
Deteccion metales ourense GZ Thanks. I subbed back.
With those digging techniques... please don't come out digging my way.
G. Dzag This is a field that *might* get mowed 3 times over the summer. But you got a deal.

G. Dzag very good points G. I'll try to do better on upcoming videos. Thanks for the comment, sir.

G. Dzag What detector have you been using?
