All the red, blue and black upkeep conditions become more viable in an Obeka, splitter of seconds deck.
I have a Kenrith deck running all of them (taking out each win con as soon as I achieve it). I got my Halo Fountain win yesterday so it now joins Thassa's Oracle and Chance Encounter in my trophy collection.
Halo Fountain should score a lot higher if you rate it as a card rather than as a win con. The other abilities are useful and normally the main reason to run the card, especially if you have a commander with a tap ability.
I have now achieved Halo Fountain wins in 5 different decks (Kenrith, Oswald, Ellie & Alan, Queen Kayla and Yes Man).
This is an awesome idea! Mind if I steal it? (I will include your name in MLA format on my work cited page)
@@Toothbresh Oh absolutely, please do! You can also check out the deck on Moxfield if you like: www.moxfield.com/decks/R2Z2lFhIfkWwoxSHDmpTxQ
S) +1 tier for fast, -1 tier for slow
A) Easy to do & easy to keep
B) Easy to do, but hard to keep
C) Hard to do, but easy to keep
D) Hard to do and hard to keep
E) Super risky
F) Impossible
if you play clue theme deck...it is very easy to win with mechanized production. commander like morska can create a clue at upkeep. instant like officious interrogation can create a lot of clues in instant speed. then you cast a creature with flash - final word phantom which allows you to play any spells at each opponent's end turns. then you cast mechanized production once you are sure that next upkeep the total clue will be 8. i think it is a lot harder for opponents to response to this process cause usually they are already tapped out and only counter spells can prevent this.
Oh there's a Myr named Coretapper that can put charge counters on stuff. It taps to put one on and sacs to put on 2, so potentially 3 per. If you made a few copies or looped it you could get that Darksteel Reactor to go off immediately after playing it.
I have a shorikai deck that often wins with Halo fountain (Mirrodin besieged and The millenium callendar are also fun alternate wincons in it). The deck focuses on digging/tutoring for unwinding clock, protecting it and produce a stupid amount of value and pesky 1/1's. Halo fountain fits PERFECTLY onto this deck, since its an artifact that also gets untapped by unwinding clock, can be used to untap shorikai an additional time per turn (by crewing it, making it a creature to untap with any other of HF's abilities) while also producing 1/1s. This usually takes around 1 to 2 turn cycles (counting 3 opponents turns) to win and its incredibly consistent.
Battle of Wits, then set up an infinite combo with any of the repeatable "get a card from outside your library and put it in your hand" cards (ie flicker Legion Angel 100 times, you just need 108 copies in your hand to discard at least 100 of em.. or Inspired Idea yourself ahead of time to require a mere 105! Just make sure to compensate for any cards already in exile and on the board).
Then, all you have to do is play a "shuffle your graveyard into your library" effect and viola, 200 card library wincon in Commander
Wow, Mechanized Production doesn't care which artifact you have 8 of. Some potential wincons: have 8 food tokens + drop MP, have 8 treasures + drop MP, control 8 creatures where one is an artifact + drop Mirrorweave and target the artifact + drop MP, clone a Myriad Construct (which will net you 4 or 7 1/1 constructs) + target the clone (4 more contstructs = at least 8) + drop MP..
everyone who wants coalition victory back in cmd is wrong
Agreed but I think gifts ungiven should be unbanned as long as you use it the way it was meant to be used…I.e. you grab 4 powerful cards and split them instead of 2 for your combo plus 2 that give you cards from grave back, but I guess it depends on your playgroup
Disagree, eight mana is a lot, and the condition on the spell isn't the easiest to achieve especially if someone has interaction like a CS or removal for one of the creature’s or lands. It's also not nearly as good when compared to other instant win combos like thassa's oracle and demonic consultation.
I have the Painbow precon. With that card added I could win the turn after I play my Commander. That should not be legal imo either.
I floated the idea of throwing Liliana's Contract into my modified Blood Rites deck with the face commander. Seems stupid easy to do, but there is no fun in it for other people at the table.
I have an ezuri claw of progress deck that has simic ascendancy as one of its win cons and on a good game i can have 20 counters on it in 5 or less turns, Ezuri xp counters op
Mechanized Production should be in A. It's much to easy to work with nowadays, thanks to the various artifact tokens we get. The easier upkeep trigger ones should be in B tier. Some of them you can legit just toss in decks on their own and they'll do it with minimal support, like Hellkite Tyrant.
Gallifrey Stands is much easier to pull off with the full token copying mechanics that the Sixth Doctor and Romana manage very well. 1 changeling, copied x times, equals win. Inter-actable, but basically winnable right before upkeep with Three Blind Mice, or any other saga that copies tokens.
So many of these are sort of easier to pull off with Obeka, since we get Upkeeps right away.
5 minutes in. I'd like to remind the audience that Pir and Toothy exist, and that Simic Ascendancy is probably a lot higher than B tier. I've accidentally gotten 20 in one turn.
Just to throw this out there: battle of wits CAN be pulled off, it's just ridiculously difficult. Basically there's an eldrazi card that let's you get eldrazi from outside the game and put them onto the battlefield, then you have to make all creatures eldrazi, and use his ability to pull 200 copies of persistent petitioners and somehow take them from the battlefield to your library.
“From outside the game” refers to the sideboard, of which commander doesn’t have or use a side board, “from outside the game” in commander almost exclusively refers to exile.
Flashing in triskadeckaphile is nutty though.
As a newer player I appreciate this cause the dragon is a very easy win in a galazeth deck that runs protection
I won using bobbleheads (i think depending on wether having mor then 7 dice makes me unable to win my pod said it works so shrug) had luck inside my prototype portal with sonic screwdriver and that one that taps 2 artifacts to untap another artifact to keep spitting out more lucks rolling more dice making more treasures (house was my Commander and out so each 6 made enough to roll again)
The good thing about biovisionary is you dont have to have the original copy to get the win. As long as u have a copy in play youre fine
21:52 20 treasures are 20 artifacts with the same name. And the artifacts with the same name don't need to be the artifact you enchant.
You can't win with test of endurance even if you have vedalkan orrery. There's an intervening if.
Um... There's cards like Research//Development, Wish, Death Wish and Golden Wish that allow you to bring cards you own from outside the game into your library, hand, or play, depending on the respective card. And all of them are Commander legal, so you can play your Hedron Alignment win that way, but you'd need at least a two color deck and a bunch of hoops to pull it off.
When a card says to bring in a card from outside the game, it typically is referring to your side deck. Since commander doesn’t have a side deck, cards that pull cards from outside of the game only allow you to get cards from exile
Can’t get them from exile with wish
Can’t clone gates to win - “Gates with different names”
For the Battle of Witts, I've seen ( but havent fully researched into) people using the cards that allow you to play cards from outside the game, like Spawnsire of Ulamog. Play 100 eldrazi spells you own from outside the game, then a spell to shuffle them into your library. It gets really convoluted.
Can mechanized production target tokens? if so putting it on a treasure seems kinda busted
That's why my playgroup has a ban on alternate win conditions and a strict 5 combo loop limit.
Halo Fountain is great in Preston
Maze’s end with scape shift
Where's Frodo?
He says at the beginning "No 'player Loses the game' effects" which is what Frodo is

Such a shame you’re so bad at clearly pronouncing words and reading and explaining the cards 🙁 wish I could just listen to this vid but you mumble through reading the cards and your explanations…
