If I record with a pre-amp unison plugin, does it affect the emulated sound ? For exemple if I record without any plugin and add them later in the DAW, will it give me the same sound as if I commit with unison plugin/mic emulation directly during the recording ? And does it change anything if I put the pre amp in that recording or add it after in the DAW (like does the pre amp affect the emulation mic) ?

I have the DLX and it sounds amazing. I use it with Cakewalk and an AXE I/O interface. The only problem I have is that, when I use multiple instances of the plugin, for example, going back and forth between punching-in retakes on a lead vocal and backing vocal (going back and forth between tracks) the mic light goes out and the sound starts to get weaker, as if the mic is no longer successfully working with the plugin. I have to unplug the mic and restart the interface. Now, it seems ok if I freeze any other tracks (besides the one I am currently working on) that are using the Sphere plugin. And maybe not a lot of people work this way. But just curious as to whether others have a similar problem and if there is a way of better dealing with the mic light going out and the basic sound changing when quickly switching between instances of the plugin within a single project. It seems that the mic gets angry if it senses more than one instance of the plugin trying to communicate with it from inside the recording software. Thanks.

I see you have 4 files to be downloaded for the mic (I have the LX), and I can only download 1. It will not allow me to GET the next file, and I have downloaded the files 5 times. Need some help. I have the X4 interface.

Looking at picking up a DLX, really excited about it! Does the DLX include the putnum mic and ocean way plugins to use with my Apollo interface? Or do those need to be bought separately?

Mic sounds great! I’m working in Logic with an apogee Duet but I can’t seem to use the plug-ins. The control panel says “connect UA device” how do I get it to regocnize the mic?

Great Video, i just wonder whether it is better to use the unison preamps in console or to record it dry and place the uad preamps as inserts after the sphere plugin in my channel? What is your advice for that? best regards

Will the Putnam and Ocean Way collections be made available as a native spark plugin?

  • @davidmaraisthecampfireguit2596

If I own an original Townsend Labs L22, will its original stereo features still work with the Sphere Plugins (and the Bill Putnam and Ocean Way mic collection plugins that I own)? Do I need to do anything regarding this update?

  • @epsteinkrauss41

Witch i buy l22 or dlx ? Are there any differences between dlx and l22?

Have Sphere L22 Townsend around 18 months always confused as I get error messages in Console stating I must activate a stereo input in my DAW whether using Sphere standard or Sphere 180 app. And now UA states that I can't even use 180 unless I have this new DLX model? So what happened to the 180 utility I've had all this time? Has UA limited the functionality of my mic with their new software update to force purchasing another (DLX) mic or am I misunderstanding all this? I'm pretty sure the L22 Townsend has always allowed stereo. I'm not updating anything just yet. Help please....Edit: Thank you UA for clarifying in the Reply.

I have the analog UA Solo 610. Would I need two of these if I want to apply it on the microphone?

  • @JohnJeevasingham

How would you Melodyne a stereo recording like this? If I want to just use the cardioid pattern in Sphere, could I record just the front capsule and not the rear?

  • @JordanMeyer

Can you use it on two computers ? I have a studio and a home studio. Would love to take it home sometimes!
