- Today I review the Ethos power rack and matching adjustable bench. These can be purchased at Dick's sporting goods stores.
The link below (not written by me) gives a compatibility list for 3rd party power rack attachments that will work on the Ethos rack..

I have this exact bench. I tightened the bolts down with a ratchet and power drill with socket adapter, and it is as tight as a drum no rocking or play of any kind, you just have to put a little ass behind your tightening. Don’t miss out on this bench it is good quality.
Regarding the bench, I put in a few metal washers between the bench seating mounting points, and the steel lower section mounts, the wobble is completely gone.
dude seems loving the aesthetic look of his machine, more than anything.
Agreed. He said the bench moves and has play . I bought one today and tightened the bolts like a man and 0 play. Great bench especially for the price.
Thanks for the review. I liked thecrack when I saw it on display. However, I didn't take into account the small width inside. Thanks for the heads up review!
I wouldn't put a squat rack on the second floor...
Adam Mikhaiel But what about the weight of the rack plus what you’re lifting focused in one area?
@@adammikhaiel283 I dont think 315 Plus deadlifts or even 225 being dropped over and over would be good.
I wouldn't trust a review from a guy with gymnastic rings randomly in the background like they're doing something.
Might have to,people put hundreds of pounds of furniture on the second floor,no problem
Look at this dude the most he’ll deadlift is 150 pounds
Thanks for the video! Super helpful and informative. I most likely will be going with this for my first rack :)
I have the same bench and mine does not wiggle like yours. I tightened mine down with a socket wrench and used pliers to hold the nuts while tightening the bolt with the socket wrench.
Great review. Thank you for all the information.
Do you know if it comes with the bench or barbell?
Jw No, it doesn’t come with either one.
You can get the same one from Costco with a bunch of attachments. Landmine, dip bar and battle rope attachment for the bottom of it. Just about 50 bucks more.
Thanks for the thorough review!
Are you keeping the bench still? For 250 you should be getting stability. I hope you can still return it.
Thank you for the review
The pipe that goes over the safety rod is what allows the safety to meet maximum load protection. The pipe stiffens the rod if a loaded bar falls on it. The rods alone could bend or fail if you drop a heavy load.
the safety "rod/s" you mean!
@@mohsenraghian210 yes
Lol. no way they will not bend. I have done 455 rack pulls off of the rods with out the pipe they are still straight as an arrow
@@richt5986 Guess you can just toss the pipes then. I’m assuming you are doing controlled rack pulls versus just dropped 400 lbs on them. I’m referring to failing a heavy lift and dropping the loaded bar uncontrolled on the rods from a height. The rods are better than nothing but offer max protection when used with the pipes
@@fedguy9182 "the safety rod is what allows the safety to meet maximum load protection"...uncontestable, and yet there's always that one guy. Probably the same guy that ignores the safety warnings that come with car jack stands and ends up another statistic.
what are the measurements from J-Hook to J-Hook inside the rack ?
I got the same setup, just tighten the bolt more where the backrest pivots. The two plates cinch down tight to the backrest pivot point and it’s solid. 👍🏼 Mine is tight and has no play at all.
sylvesterlesnipe I have the same bench. Just tighten the bolts on the hinge and the wobble will be gone.
Same here, tightened mine down with a socket wrench it's solid. Doesn't wiggle at all.
Do you still have the rack and if so how has it held up? Would love to see a follow up video on rack. I’m in the market for a rack and the Ethos is in the running
What is the distance for the widest pull up in the bar?
Thanks man, nothing more I cant stand than a bench rocking when bench pressing.
How long and wide is it inside the cage?
When you click on the add on’s all this fits?
Aren't you gonna get that wobble on any adjustable bench? I gave up trying to find one and just use a flat bench for my heavier bench presses.
Would a 79” barbell work on this rack?
What’s the weight limit for the bench
The pipes that go around the safeties are important, for spreading the load of a fail across the entire pin safety. Without them, a fail could bend the pin, then they'll be stuck in place and you won't be able to remove them.
What the hell What are you talking about I have done rack pulls over 400 pounds on the pins and they haven't bent at all.
I would just get the Force USA my rack. I like the new foldable space saver one. Great review and thanks for the compatible attachments. I always see this rack at Dicks and I was always curious.
Question for you. If you end up selling this rack, what would you get to replace it with?
foldable huh, sounds gay
What are the Dimensions of your platform?
Tks for the review there 799 now
I just tightened the bolts like a man and no wobble at all!
you should make a video of a full home gym workout
I’m thinking about going for the Titan T3 has a lot of accessories
This rack takes all of Titan series attachments and rogue monster attachments
I have this rack and all my attachments are rogue monster or Titan series.
also rep fitness 5000 fits this as well
What all do you have attached to it? Curious since I am looking to purchase this vs the rogue
@@HectorRTH10 I have the
Rogue band pins 1"
rogue monolift 2.0.
Rogue sandwich j cups
Titan neck attachment
Titan dip bar
Rogue safety straps
Hope that helps. It is a solid piece
3x3 post with 11G steel
How long is your barbell?
Is this safe to have upstairs?
The links to the attachment compatibility?
Where can you get it on sale for around $500. It’s $749 right now
He is so wrong about the bench. I assembled it yesterday no wobble at all. It's a great bench. The rack is so underrated. It builds like a tank. Love it!
Do you know if there is a attachment to add a boxing heavy bag?
Rogue attachments fits this rack they have boxing attachments
Is it sturdy enough to hang a heavy bag somehow from it?
😂
Where did you purchase the deadlift platform?
It has a 1k lb capacity limit. There $749 in NY
At 2:55 that’s because you didn’t tighten the screws enough. Just got this bench and made sure to tighten all the way. No wobble whatsoever after fully tightened.
Can this fully assembled power racked be moved in order to be repositioned by two people ?
Yes
What’s the max weight capacity on rack and bench
Over 1000 lbs
how much?
Is not wobble?.... do a review using the rack please man, thanks for this video.
Not only doesn't that wobble but it also has holes to bolt to the floor If you do that it will go nowhere
Will this rust if I kept it outside?
Eventually
I’m trying to buy attachments, does anyone know the hole diameter 2x2 1x1 or 3x3 ?
This is 3x3 with 1" holes
What's the weight capacity? Thanks!
1000 lbs
Is that in the same class as a Rogue?
Can you add a Lat Pulldown and Cable Row attachment?
I wouldn't consider this in the same class as Rogue.
@@jeremiegrund yeah, but if anything, right now during the political's pandemic. this would do
Roland Nez oh absolutely, I have this rack in my basement for that reason but I wouldn’t put it on the same level as rouge
I have a Rogue RML390C rack with 30 inch interior space vs 24 inch. The Dicks version uses 14 gauge steel. Rogue uses much heavier 11 guage and the safety system is rated at 10,000 lbs. So no the racks are not in the same class. That said it doesn’t mean it is not useful in a home gym with a tight budget. Just realize the weight limitations for the rack and safeties. My advice is shop around for cheaper 11guage racks from Titan or others that are heavier duty for the same money-just won’t have color paint and aesthetics from a marketing perspective.
@@fedguy9182 this rack ( ethos )does have 11 G steel. NOT 14 G. This rack also takes rogue attachments. Also it has the same weight rating as the rogue monster and the titan series racks. The only difference is rogue and titan have Westside spacing
Attractive rack but there are much better options on the market. I believe the lack of Westside spacing is a big deal.
You can get the 11guage Rogue R3 basic rack with Westside spacing for a couple hundred more than this rack. Much better built rack that will handle any amount of weight safely.
@@fedguy9182 the ethos rack is 11 G steel as well also has the same weight rating as the rogue monster and the titan series racks
Not sure if your bench is defective or what but I have that exact bench and it's stable as a rock. None of that play yours has and I lift heavy
What size are the uprights
They are 3x3 with 1" holes.
Utility bench weight capacity?
1000 lbs
Pretty solid rack but if you paid the 699 that is on the webpage you probably could have gotten something just as good for much cheaper at Rep fitness.
Absolutely not
no.
no, that's not leather.
it's vinyl.
Rep fitness got the best home rack
Really? I’m looking into racks now. What rack do you have from rep? What do you like about it and what would you change?
I had a rep. Not the best. In the top 5 but not the best
If you tighten the bench properly, it's a good bench
This guy can squat 315?
I can bench it too brah ua-cam.com/video/X2WGpK7AqvY/v-deo.html
JFomo , and he know karate, too! 🥋
@@TechAddict1514 WTF!!! 😦
@@JFomo Got ems!
that bench is junk. i just left dicks sporting goods, in the incline position it is extremely wobbly, unsafe for anyone doing inclines 225 or heavier.
good comment
Please I have several benches. Bells of steel comp bench and the rep fit 3000. I bench 365 on the ethos bench several times. Extremely solid. The one at Dicks may have been put together not tight enough but this bench is well worth the money. It's 11 G steel also the same weight as most of the rogue benches. Soooo
Wow, that bench is junk for the price. You can get a solid flat bench from Rep fitness for about $150.
Tom Forge exactly. Rep fitness has quality benches for the price
I have a rep 3000 and a Bells of steel comp bench and the ethos bench. Definitely worth the price and I have benched well over 350 on it several times. Extremely solid
Seen one of these at Dicks Sporting goods,,,not impressed. Chinese made junk. Go Rogue Fitness or NORTHERN LIGHTS....Rogue made in USA,,,NL made in Canada.
Please explain junk. I have squat over 475 on This rack it doesn't move. I also have the monolift 2.0 attachment that fits this rack. It is made with 11 gauge steel as well. The only separation I can tell is this doesn't have westside spacing
Good talk 😄
Also a few months ago they found Rogue was using steel from China also some of their equipment now is being made in China. Soooooooo
your not 5' 9"......lol you 5'6" max ..lol
