Genuinely stunned....they dropped a Christmas gift on us.......sorry guys, I didn't know we were doing gifts this year., I'm gonna have to give you guys a big I love you, and a virtual hug.
This was one of the all-time best episodes. Reitman is a student of SNL and he really peeled back the layers and asked Dana and David incredible questions (ironic, given whose podcast it is). I got chills a few times from some of the deepest cuts they revealed about their relationships with Lorne and the show.
fyi this podcast led me to go out and buy the movie. As a game developer of 30+years the chaos spoke to me. The line that got me was in the infamous stairwell where the producer guy said something about punting to Lorne and then Lorne responded “That’s what you’ve been thinking?” Such a great line! It perfectly emphasizes the concentration it takes to make something that has never been done before along side people who are terrified of uncertainty.
Guys I just watched the movie and it’s good . I think David said it was unlike any movie . That’s for sure . I like it - it is very intense - I love - I love how they juggled the tension with the other factors . Maybe they lied to us about the sage . Every time sage made an appearance it was followed by the devil . I could say so much more - it made me cry . I cried pretty good too . Love you guys . Thank you
Love these guys, love Jason. Worked on a project with him way-way back in 2012 titled 'Labor Day.' The Consummate Professional. Most fun on a movie set I've had, awesome time.
Oh, to have grown up as Jason Reitman. I always wished I could have traded places with that guy. I HATED him the first time I saw him in "Ghostbusters II". "You know, my dad says you guys are full of crap." "No, My dad says you guys are full of crap and that's why you went out of business" Jason Reitman What a dick, I thought as a kid.
Love these podcasts, funny hosts and guests. I cringed when you glorified the birth of SNL into a seminal moment for the universe, though…it might be for all of you, but truthfully SNL has always been hit or miss - the best thing it does is bring new talent to the world’s attention, kind of like a reality show or talent contest show for tyro comics. More often than not I like the work that y’all have done after SNL over what you did on it!
I enjoyed the movie, but I don't think the conceit of it being 90 minutes worked. It was disorienting to think that all this stuff was supposed to be happening in real time; it felt more like it was taking place over the course of a day or more.

By the Gods! A yuletide gift from our favorite comedians! Thank you gentlemen, and merry Christmas, from tennessee.
So good to see and hear Dana and David on Jason Reitman fly on the wall!😂
Really enjoyed this one boys!🙂👍

I love when you have SNL superfans as guests! Such a great conversation if you love SNL.... which I do!
Great pod! I really enjoyed Mr Reitman's movie and then the discussion today.
I always remember Michael O'donahue from Nat.Lampoon and a Rolling stone quote ...'i look at comedy through a jaundiced eye'? To para phrase.

57:45 if you’re looking for the Chevy Chase being a jerk to Jason Reitman
Jason is a good interviewer.
Amazing episode. Loved how Reitman got you guys to open up, and loved hearing all the details that went into making the movie. Great job all around.
1:01:49 this is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time. It killed me today lol 😂

Merry 🎄Christmas fellas!
Merry Christmas ❤
thoroughly enjoyed 'saturday night'.
Death by Chocolate was f*cking hilarious!!
I think that is what Jason wrote.
They used to say about Milton Berle: he only took out enough to win.

What’s the name of the SNL movie?
SATURDAY NIGHT
@ ok thanks !
Friends with his cousin Dan.
I’m mad that show spade was supposed to do with Diablo Cody never happened
Is he doing Ghostbusters III
If only you could see how angry I look when you release a podcast with no video.........
I don't believe in no ghosts.
foist
how about Bill Murray, Seth Rogen... 😀
I just saw a clip of A Life Unknown with Edward Norton in a wig, and at first glance, I thought that it was Dana.
Chevy wasn't joking when he said you should be embarrassed. It was unfunny and a waste of time.

Another nepotism baby
Riiiiight
For sure.
Not everyone given the opportunity could direct THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, UP IN THE AIR, YOUNG ADULT, and JUNO.
Yawn. Christ sakes. Who’s next, Bob Crane? What am I, Dutch Schultz over here. I ahh, haven’t seen a cat this dull since TS Elliot got sober…
I enjoyed the movie, but really didn't care for the way they portrayed Belushi. Way, way too serious and brooding.
Fuck this like watching paint dry with my ears. This is likely the least interesting podcast I've ever heard.
And *Yet* here you are... Typical.
@misterjim4458 I'm not here. i shut it off after I commented. Typical of what ?
very super boring
I love how dana starts all the interviews with food in his mouth.
Hey Jason, if you’re reading this. Stop cussing so much. It doesn’t make you seem badass, it makes you seem juvenile.
