    I have to say that I would love to hear demos where the music played were a bit more challenging than the usual singer song writer variety I often hear. It seems to me that busier tracks really will display the sort of control amplifiers are capable of providing. Where balance would become evident. This was better than most, and even tho this is diminished via my phone, Naim is the real deal. Great company.

    Interesting that no vinyl is being used, my self I have a Linn LP12 just gathering dust I much prefer CD,S.
    I have built my own hi-cap it does greatly improve the sound to another level. and added a mains filter that also was a improvement there is so much crud come down the mains from computors and other electronic gizmos these days.
    The cost of Naim stuff is very expensive and I had to resort to buying of ebay but managed to pick up a NAP 250 DR half the shop asking price with 12 months warranty in very nice example in great condition and works great. I have a NAC 72 preamp which I have recapped a great piece of kit.

    Hi, thanks for the video,
    i am wondering if i shd go for XS3 or 200+202 combination to drive PMC 25.22 , XS3 launched in last year and 200+202 launched quite a long time, i know comparing int. amp and pre+power amp isnt fair, but i would like to get some opinions from the others before i make the decision, thanks!!

    Visited my local Naim dealer to audition the Uniti Atom when it first released. Wasn’t too impressed, my opinion. As I left I passed through a large sound-room and I went to comment to the salesman what an amazing sound, but my throat filled with a very large lump. Eva Cassidy was playing on a full rack of high end Naim gear. I sat and listened, this is the sound I’ve been searching for. I asked how much money to get that sound, when told that lump came back as I knew I would never be able to own it. The Power Of Music is an emotional journey.

      It’s possible we started with a two box setup and have a full classic series system now almost 20 years later. I would say to start a NAC 152xs and Nap 150 and a little chord dac and a Pair of speakers of your liking is a good place to start. Just do all that you can in your setup. Set speakers up right and give the equipment the best stands Naim fraim lite if you can stretch your budget. Don’t think of the £50k system think smaller and with naim you can build your way up

      Bass. Just amazing vocal range extension and the bass goes deep. It has tightness and weight. The sopra is also very good it has a slightly more open top end but isn’t as precise. I love both. For me I’d take a Sopra 2. But you’d have to listen in your system

    • @faizm5607
      @faizm5607 3 роки тому

      In terms of Watt technically yes. But in real life a NAP 300 close to it with 90w a channel is miles ahead and Scala Utopias are to be paired with 500 series from naim so
      NDS or ND555
      252 or 552
      NAP300 or NAP500
      They would shine with ND555/552/500

      I agree with Naim the problem with having the best speaker is that is will only show you how the system before it is not performing if it is not. It is not about having the best speaker, but the right speaker for your room and ears to deliver your personal enjoyment, else you are chasing the dragon(mythical). I like the Naim gear(had a NAP500 system) and still like their voicing but not good for anything with the wrong speaker in my room.... I believe in the Japanese and American philosophy, start with what you like in your room then work backwards..... You were at the UK HIFI show, tell me, did the Wilson demo sound any good? If this is what £70 000 + of hifi sounds like it's pretty laughable.
      Focal make lovely speakers in my opinion but the forward nature of Naim electronics isn't very symbiotic with them.

    Because audiophiles don't have the experience or education to understand what matters (the skill of the original recording engineer, the choice of loudspeakers, their placement in a room and the acoustics of that room), audiophiles spend fortunes on the wrong things, which are the high-profit-margin and well advertised items like cables, power conditioners, amplifiers, power cables, connectors, resistors, and just about everything that has almost nothing to do with the quality of reproduced music - but makes loads of money for the people selling these fetishes.

      Exactly. Audiophile's are the dumbest people to be found. Instead of making the initial effort of finding speakers with right tonal balance (hint: studio monitors), they will use hardware such as tubes, cables and amp's to eq the sound. These people are literally on a treasure hunt, and every now and then, they will find some piece of gear that offer a tiny, miniscule improvement to the inherent flaws in their speakers (aka synergy). What a sad, inconsistent and uncertain way to arrive at good sound.
