    I began working with Magento back in 2009 and continued to work professionally until 2021, and then I decided to do something different. I'm happy to say I'm back in 2023, and thanks for your docker magento saved me so much time!

      That sounds like a great journey through & back to Magento Daniel! I had a similar experience -- I worked with it for many years, left for a year, but then it kept calling me back. I don't think devs choose Magento, but Magento chooses them! 😄

    I am also magento developer and worked on other php frameworks also . I think magento 2 is more complex then any other php framework .

      It very much is. I worked with Laravel for a year, and it was a breeze compared to Magento. But I wouldn’t think of building a complex eCommerce site with it 😄

      E-commerce website is very complex in its essence. No wonder magento 2 is complex.

    I am so confused learning this Magento 2.4.5 as a new learner. The documentation from adobe is like not structured from the basic and scattered everywhere. Really so confusing. The command like cache:flush, setup:upgrade, etc are not explained why we should run the command. Also the documentation using linux, not provided for windows user. There were some error I was facing when project installation, like I am using PHP 8.2, but it required me to downgrade to 8.1, so I had to reinstall my XAMPP to a previous version, and another changes of syntax in the framework dependency. So many tweak just for installing this project. Also there are not many tutorial for this magento stuff out there in internet. Make me feel it is impossible learning this magento stuff and not worth to learn.

      I hear ya! I experienced the same, which is why I created M.academy. My passion is teaching Magento and getting you to that "ah ha!" moment. It's the best feeling ever when things start to click. While my offering is a paid one, you can learn on your own for free, but it'll take some time as I agree the info is scattered everywhere. I hope you figure it out as the end result can be pretty great.

      When I first started I also tried Xampp.
      Better do something like this:
      Set up WSL2 on your windows.
      Then get warden addon for docker and follow what's in the docs.
      Makes setting up magento 2 less painfull.
      Then it's just about troubleshooting and more troubleshooting.
      Magento 2 is for masochists but it pays well.
      Tools like warden, n98-magerun2 and phpstorm are crucial for debugging. (if you have phpstorm, you can grab the magento addon)

    Is there any step-by-step Magento tutorial?

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  Рік тому

      Hi Haifeng, yes, I developed a full-blown course that covers all of the essentials! It's available at m.academy/courses//magento-2-coding-kickstart/ and is my most popular course.

    Is Magento 2 development very difficult to learn?

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  Рік тому

      I wouldn't say so anymore. It used to be, but there are so many resources available nowadays, paid & free, that can allow you to pick it up much quicker than in years past. If you want to save time, check out my premium courses at M.academy -- it's my livlihood as all I do now is Magento training! Best of luck to you.

    What are chances Adobe move away from old-school Front-End towards PWA? I have a feeling it's going to happen sooner or later

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  Рік тому +1

      The chances of that happening are near 0%.

      Unfortunately PWA fails to meet the expectations and the hype, I say this after two complex PWA projects.
      Hyva seems to have a lot more chances to replace Magento's storefront.
