    I love the GTD method and I really like the way you described the use of Next using the concept of "Starting date" and "Deadline date". I used the Next tag in the past but not related to the due date vs a deadline. Great video, great information. Oh and I don't have to forget... your voice is a stress releif.

    Great Todoist tips; thank you for taking the time to make the video. Regarding your second tip (alt+T for quick add). I could not get that to work on my Mac; however, CTRL-CMD-A does the same thing. Here are the related shortcuts I found for Mac and Windows:
    On Windows 10, there are two additional “global” shortcuts.
    Press the Windows key, Alt, and S to toggle between showing or hiding the ToDoist app.
    Press the Windows key, Alt, and Q to quickly add a new task.
    On macOS, these same global shortcuts are as follows.
    Press Ctrl, the Command key, and T to show or hide ToDoist.
    Press Ctrl, the Command key, and A to add a new task.
    I hope that helps, and keep up the excellent work.

      Hello! You can remap this shortcut. I remapped it to command T which is what I was using for the Raycast Todoist extension anyways. Hope this is easier!

    I was skeptical because no one else was sharing “secrets” I didn’t already know…then you shared your tip about removing the checkbox?!? That alone is a tip I can’t wait to implement- thanks!!

    Hi Lucas, I'm loving your reviews so far. I'm probably gonna start using Todoist today.
    nitpicking a bit, your sound level is inconsistent between transitions from face camera to screen recording, and I had to lower the volume of my headset to counter these variances on volume. Just something you may be able to improve for future videos. Keep it up!

    Do we know if Todoist has that quick entry autofill function like Things?

    Thank you for great tips on todoist. I have one suggestion: Your face too close to the screen make me bit uncomfortable to watch. You can explore of using bit wide shot for your head talks. Not sure what other viewers opinions are on this.
    Love the content!

      So you're telling me you don't like it when I stare into your soul? 😜
      Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm still a newbie with camera settings so I'm just experimenting with different angles and I will definitely take this into account for future videos. 👍

    Lucas, Great video!... Do you know if there is a way make the due date for a sub-task be be indexed-off of the due date of the "parent"-task? In other words, if a task is due 3 weeks before the parent-task's due date, can that sub-task's due date (and all of the other sub-tasks due dates) auto-fill based on the parent-task's due date?
    I'm trying to use it as an event planning template, and the due dates for everything is based off of the event date. So I want the tasks (or sub-tasks possibly?) to be auto-filled based on the overall event date). Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

      Thanks, Jimmy! I've played around to figure this out but unfortunately, I don't believe this is possible right now.

    Any way to keep a persistent note with a 'completed' date, rather than it showing as overdue?

    • @LucasPrigge
      @LucasPrigge  2 роки тому +1

      Todoist has no Completed date field unfortunately - any date before today will be interpreted as 'Overdue'.
      What you could do here is to add a 'completed-note' label to these notes with dates. That way, you can easily see what the 'overdue' date actually means, or remove it from view completely using a filter which filters for tasks that are overdue but do not have this label so that you don't lose the actual overdue functionality.

    Just a suggestion, I could not understand your section : "Start Time for Tasks" very clearly hence I am not able to implement it.

    • @LucasPrigge
      @LucasPrigge  2 роки тому

      Hi Shikhar, which portion of Start Times did you not understand clearly? The basic idea is that you always use the "Next" tag to indicate a task can be started now and the associated date for those tasks is a due date.
      This automatically implies that a task WITHOUT the "Next" tag, but with a date, is to be treated as a task that needs to be started at that time.
      So the basic concept is:
      Task without Next, with date: date = Start time
      Task with Next, with date: date = Due time

    Hi Lucas,
    I'm not sure about this application. It sounds promising sure.
    I have spent a few minutes and it feels too complicated.
    How do you manage project and subprojects ? Is a section supposed to be a subproject?
    I'm confused.
    Thanks

    • @LucasPrigge
      @LucasPrigge  2 роки тому

      Hey Henri, I cover this to some extent in my other Todoist videos on my channel.
      You may be interested in my upcoming Todoist course which covers this in detail: lucasprigge.com/courses-lp
      In short though, I use Todoist Projects (Lists) for, well.. projects. I don't do subprojects. I use sections to distinguish between next actions, (potential) future actions & projects support material.

      @@LucasPrigge awesome. Thank you for reply. To sad you cannot have a list of all your projects using the widget. 😓
      Actually my main worry would be this ability to have a view of all my projects at once.
      This is why I asked you the previous question : so that maybe I could tweak a little bit the application's definitions of "project" "action" and so on to be able to eventually have a list view of my projects.
      Hope that makes sense, does it ?
      Regards.
      Ps : I added my email to the waiting list for the next course.

      Yeah there is no widget for viewing your projects in one overview at the moment. However, they can be viewed easily by opening the mobile app itself. Thanks for registering! 😃

      @@LucasPrigge thanks Lucas, I'm still tweaking the tool to see what can be done to bypass this, probably but using a "project" tag instead 🤔🤗
