Impressive, just unfortunate Santa Cruz couldn’t have the hybrid power train.
you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !
There are two standout issues.
When I drove the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid, no matter how hard I pushed it, the average fuel economy was 38.4mpg. Also, the suspension is designed with cheap materials, making impacts feel too harsh. The interior materials are also a concern, especially the areas where you rest your arms; they should add more cushion so those spots aren’t so hard and uncomfortable. The new CR-V Hybrid’s fuel economy is unknown to me, but it certainly has the most premium feel. As for my Tucson Hybrid, it's not the Limited model, so my experience may be limited.
Honda might be built better, but it definitely doesn't feel as expensive since it's missing so many features ventilated seats, panoramic roof, 360 cameras, blind view cameras, RGB ambient lighting, etc. All while costing more than the Tuscon. Also the Honda hybrid system sucks on the highway. It's gutless and gets mediocre fuel economy. In fact the 1.5T probably does better.
The RAV4 definitely drives extremely poorly. Very truck like and it failed the moose test. Furthermore it's quite expensive and the interior is quite cheap.
Tuscon strikes the best balance and IMO drives quite well. Pretty close to the Honda. It's also a bit more entertaining to drive because of the 6 speed trans. Biggest downside is maintainence is more expensive than the comp and the pre facelift uses lots of piano black and touch sensitive controls. Updated models looks fantastic. Also the fuel economy in the real world is just okay compared to the escape and RAV4 Hybrid design
What mpg do you get with your Tucson.
I recently test drove the '24 SEL gasoline and Blue hybrid trims and also noticed that the hybrid had a firm ride. The salesman mentioned that they use firmer suspension due to the hybrid's heavier weight. I liked the gas version better in terms of ride comfort although it's a bit slower.
Hyundai allows you to have hands off the wheel for a while because they slso have that IR camera or whatever to track your eyes. You can see it in the video behind the steering wheel on the steering column
The hybrid Limited is only $1,150 more than the Limited gas model. Absolutely a no brainer.
Fair enough! I suppose I was looking at more volume trims, didn't realize it changes based on model
If you drive a lot of high speed highway like in Texas (75-80mph) then you'll like get better fuel economy with the non-hybrid Tuscon than the hybrid in my experience. Around town obviously the reverse is true to a greater extent. Love the smoothness of the hybrid though.
While I don't have access to the 2025 hybrid prices, I doubt the hybrid is only $1150 more than the gas. Perhaps if you compare the hybrid to the gas AWD version, but since there is no hybrid FWD option like the Kia twin that's not a fair comparison. The whole idea of a hybrid is to save gas, and they cripple it with their inefficient AWD system.
My wife has the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Limited and we use it far more than my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness. It is a much nicer vehicle, far more comfort, and far more usable space. The Harmon Kardon in my Wilderness sounds like absolute trash compared to the Bose in her Tuscon as well. I am really thinking about seeing how bad of a hit I would take trading my Crosstrek Wilderness for a 2025 Santa Cruz XRT.
I recommedation is if you were gonna get a FWD or are okay with it get the FWD. Otherwise if you are getting an AWD SEL or higher get the hybrid
I love this car! Unfortunately in my country there is no hybrid and only 1.6T with DCT. Everything Hyundai/Kia with DCT is an hard pass for me, so no chance to get it.
Hmmm. To choose this or a Kona EV. Thoughts?
Two very different choices. Primary car? Tucson. Second car? Kona might work
@@DailyMotor very true, should have clarified. Secondary car! Do you find the Kona EV ride/road noise to be similar to the Tucson or better/worse?
I would choose this over CRV and Rav4. They just have taken bolder risks designing this and tech feels so much more integrated in these 2022+ Hyundais. Granted it is expensive, but everything else is :/
Sound system test? Curious to see if it still sounds the same
Unfortunately didn't have an opportunity at this event, but I will get one back at home and test. It did sound like an improvement, but maybe not quite as strong as the updated Sonata.
Charlie, I would like to know if the 'class leading' RAV4 will ever match the Tucson, CR-V etc in interior dimensions. 🤔
Good question! Toyota seems determined to have every permutation of crossover fathomable in their lineup, so maybe a Grand RAV4 is in the cards?
Or a RAV4 Signia?
RAV4 Cross?
@@DailyMotor Now yer talkin'
over 40K? I hope that Kam wins so that by next year with inflation 40K won't be that expensive.
To be genuine what other crossover SUVs are more affordable in their highest and second highest trims of at least similar if not better materials
Subaru Outback Limited, Outback Touring and Subaru Crosstrek limited and Sport. Cheaper and offer safer vehicles and significantly better long term quality. Nuff said!!!!! @@CallMehDirect
Not sure I understand your post? With a decrease in inflation, the price consumers pay for auto's will be cheaper? Help me to understand your comments! Assuming KH will lower inflation? But should that occur, dealers will be more likely to add markups to their inventory to make up for the lower pricing of cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. In the automotive industry, no matter what happens with inflation the consumer will always pay more for automotive products, imo. Nuff said!
@@lordvadore1960 The current duo are known for hyperinflation, so $40K will be like $30K today lol!
Yeah, I hate the exterior styling especially the back, but the rest of the car is very nice
Lord, the thought of spending 40k on something like this is so depressing
The Escape is $43k and is much worse.
40k is way too much for these. Wait a couple of years till they're off lease and get a used one
That’s fairly low end compared to what many people are spending on new vehicles which offer less. The average people spend is around $48,000 for a new vehicle with a monthly car payment of $730. But yes, the industry has gotten out of control and will only get worse. Much like everything else.
