Thanks a lot for the useful review ! I’m decided to use the markers for full Color saturation only and will stick to regular waterpaint for my illustrations.

Hi there! Yes, these definitely have a more narrow niche than watercolor! Have fun playing around with their saturation and Happy Holidays!

Thanks for your video. I wish I had seen it before I bought them but now I know. I saw them and bought as a different art supply for myself. I will probably use more of an accent to a watercolour in a travel kit or as you said, more for a quick illustration or blind drawing. Thanks 😊

These seem like high quality art markers, and you gave great tips on how to use them effectively. Good points about illustrative applications, too. 👍

Thanks Irene-I’m happy you found this informative! I think these are really an illustrator’s dream! They are fun to play with but probably won’t be my #1 media choice for awhile yet. I need to take a deep dive into comic art before I really rely on these. Boy, are they nice to draw with though! They would be interesting to compare with the WN inks!🥰

thank you for showing and explaining real-world uses for these markers. Tombow Watercolor brush pens will almost completely dissolve the initial mark you made with them and blend beatifically. I had considered windsor to see if there is a watercolor marker BETTER than Tombow for my needs due to artists on IG using very expensive watercolor paints and pairing them with the Promarker. I can see the benefits of these Windsor promarkers in-terms of being used more like a marker to help cover a wider range of areas. Copic users who dont want to always put copic on watercolor paper (watercolor paper ABORBS alcohol ink quickly) with their paints will like these.

Hello and thanks for your comments! I agree-Copic & watercolor paper can be problematic. From what I understand it can be hard on the nibs, too, although they are replaceable.
Tombow is great! Their only negative is that they are not lightfast. But if you’re working on cards or in a sketchbook-Tombow has a great color range, they are high quality, and very cooperative! I’ve used them extensively in cardmaking& have never been disappointed. 💜💜

Interesting…honestly, I’ve had more movement from Arteza watercolour brush pens. Obviously, they use ink, not pigment, but for sketchbook work that would be ok. I find more often than not I am disappointing in Winsor and Newton products across the board. Higher prices, lower quality. You would imagine that living in the UK would make this make a go to make, at least regards price, but oh no… I can purchase all other European brands with the exception of Schmincke for less, and be happier with the paints etc. Still an extremely interesting video Ann, and in fact invaluable should anyone be on the verge of purchasing them imagining they could utilise them like ordinary watercolour. Many thanks for the time you take and the money you spend on our behalf. ❤️🖌🎨👩🏻‍🎨❤️

Thank you! That’s too bad about Winsor & Newton. You’re not the first person I’ve heard mention that, either. I typically recommend their Cotman line of watercolors for beginners, and I recently have…but a few of the pigments seem a touch less vibrant than I remember. Hmmm.
I’ve been thrilled with my Jackson’s watercolors-I bet you can get those at a good price if you’re interested 💖
I’m fairly new to the whole watercolor marker as an art medium trend. I’ve always used Tombow markers and lived them, but in my search for something lightfast these and Faber Castell came up in my digging around. I’ve yet to open the Faber Castells, so I might even like those better-who knows? I have more ideas than I have hours in the day😂😂

Great review. I'll be passing on these. They seem just like my Tombows

Hi Erica! If you have Tombows (love them, by the way) and you don’t need to worry about lightfastness, then definitely you wouldn’t need these. ❤️

i also use Tombow and looking for a higher-quality alternative, but the promarker is definitely just a watercolor version of Windsor's alcohol Promarker. I'll still buy 2-3 just to test them out since there are some qualities i like in them. Time to buy more Tombow then!

      An excellent option for sure!

Coming back to say I bought 2 and love them. They move differently than the tombow. More like watercolor in-terms of the color "change" and less like marker. I am new to watercolor and paint in general, these area great alternative to those used to using pen, pencil and marker and want something that'll cover more ground. I also recommend Caran de-ache aquarelle water color pencils (SP?). I am buying moreWN to see if i love the other colors as much as the orange and burnt red. I've made a pumpkin (Howls moving Castle) patch concept on fabriano cold press 140 lb and it's a great experience.

Hello and wonderful comments! Everything you wrote makes me very happy-I am a huge fan of WN warm reds & oranges…transparent orange is a favorite. I hope you like the new ones you’ve found! The Caran d’Ache Aquarellie pencils are lovely! I really really like the Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils.
At any rate-your description of these FC watercolor markers is spot on! They perform beautifully & I’m so happy you enjoy the ones you bought!! Thanks again for commenting 🩷 I bet the Howl’s Moving Castle concept pumpkins are really cool!!!
