Asphodel is a type of lily, and in the "flower language" of Victorian England it meant, "my regrets follow you to the grave," while wormwood signified bitter sorrow -- thus what Snape said was something along the lines of "I bitterly regret the death of Lily (your mother)."

Noooot quite. I mean, yes, but not quite. In case you were curious, one is "I deeply regret", the other is a _type of lily_ commonly used to express grief over the loss of a young woman. I find it necessary to explain that because it's one of those lucky coincidences that enriches the text, that it just so happens that a lily, symbol of maidens, was used exclusively for mourning. It is pretty cool.
In most of the languages of flowers, (victorian is only one of them), combining certain flowers in their bouquets is a way of expressing more comolex ideas and emotions.
For example, a red rose is a symbol of passionate love and devotion, of sensuality. A yellow rose represents hapiness, trust in the future, but also forgiveness and by extention, an apology.
Therefore, a bouquet of red and yellow roses is usually given to ask forgiveness from your lover. One step extra, you could make a case for "I'm sorry I was untrue".
Of course, given how recent that interpretation is, (first time I saw it was when Tumblr was already stablished as a popular site), it may or may not have been a coincidence. But even then, as I said before, just because something was achieved with no intention does not strip it from it's worth. Serindipity only has value because you were not looking for it.

The first thing Snape asks Harry is “Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?” According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and wormwood means ‘absence’ and also typically symbolised bitter sorrow. If you combined that, it meant ‘I bitterly regret Lily’s death’.
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.

I'm from Argentina so my favorite sweet it's an "alfajor". It's like a macaron but with completely different ingredients, they're made of two or three cookies, covered in chocolate united by "dulce de leche" (a kind of nutella but it's made with milk and sugar, a national sweet. Reeeeeally tasty but if you eat to much you'll feel kind of sick of it's sweetness). Love you, Cherry!

When you shook the memorial vial box before opening it, I was saying in my head “nooo be careful that might be fragile!” And then it was broken when you opened it and I was like “😱 did she just break it?” But then the mug was broken too, so it’s obvious that your owl dropped the whole box on his way to you! 🦉💥 Hope you get them replaced!
