It's just ok. It needs an acid like lime juice and a little bit of heat. Also I agree with the other person about the boxed rice. If it takes 25 minutes to cook its better to make yellow rice from scratch and use a better quality rice like basmati.

About how much salt did you use?
I usually just eye ball it, depending on the ingredients I use that already has a salt base to it.
But start with 1/2 teaspoon for a rice dish.
