Thank you!! I had a box of my grandmothers fabric that my mom had started a quilt with and I took it apart and am currently two puffed side sewing for my first quilt ever!!! 🤦🏻♀️ Even the way you’re doing it here feels like it would be a relief! Ha! Don’t ask why I choose to make this my first quilt. I have no idea….😂 but I’ll be getting through it a little easier now!
@@tammybognar5068 Sewing a puff quilt is no joke.
I love puff quilts. I love maken them. I'm on my 4th one and the one I'm working on is the mother load of all of them. ( king size) . Thanks for sharing your video.
Go you. You just kinda made me want to make another one.
You are so real and likable. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@@valeriecaputa713 thank you
I did a pet bubble quilt as you started. It was a nightmare and said I would not do any more. I like your method and will give a try. Thanks
I'm happy to offer an alternative method because I wouldn't have done another either.
Thank you sooo much for sharing your experience!!
I'll be making my first puff quilt soon!
I'm going to take your advice and sew it together first, then stuff and hand stitch. 🙂👍
You will not be sorry
It still turned out beautiful, doesn’t look like you fought with it at all.
My back was so sore afterwards. I haven't done another like this one since.
OMG THANK YOU! lol, I am half way through making a bubble quilt and thinking, “is this insane? Am I badat sewing? (I am new)” and thought - after watching many, many videos- “shouldn’t we just stuff them last?” Thank you for just telling us how to do it, AND that it is frustrating and could be easier! Cheers!
I am so glad that you found this helpful. I think this is a much easier and better way to control the puff. I do not enjoy the construction of puff quilts but they are so darn cute.
Thank you for explaining how to make a bubble quilt. I am thinking of making one and you made total sense.
I'm glad you enjoyed it there is another video showing what I mean. I've done this both ways and that quilt gets heavy and hard to manage.
i love it when people just say it!! I think I would be more inclined to do the puffy quilt if it didn't look so cumbersome :)
That sucker will really make you work hard if you let it. I'm so glad you like my tell the truth approach. Thanks for hanging with me.
Thanks for the minky tip!! I stopped using it as a backing years ago because if the fluff and difficulty working with it. Now I think I maybe able to try again.
Yes please try again. It really does work
Ohmygoodness! You are so pretty! Cute and adorable too. Great tutorial🤗 I'm also thrilled bc I have that same singer machine.
Thank you so much for watching. That machine was very good to me for a long time.
I would have liked to see the final back. Also, how you would stuff and sew post sewing. My mind pictures it, but…it often tricks me. Your explanations of the alternate techniques was honest and refreshing
Thanks for watching. This might help

I've been reaching this bubble blanket and you have done your Reach on the best way and I thank you 😂🎉for sharing and when finished I'll let you know
That is amazing I look forward to seeing yours
I agree to sew it all together then turn it over then stuff it. ❤️
Yep, You get me!
I really enjoyed your honesty while watching your tutorial and the quilt turned out beautifully! Never attempted to make any kinda of quilt but really want to make a bubble quilt for my granddaughter! Thanks for all your helpful suggestions!
I'm so glad that you watched this. Be sure to watch the newest version where I give a few more details.

Such a darling of a quilt! I love your color choices, so bright and happy! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much. I really do love bright quilts
Hi i am making a puff quilt and i am using the split the squares in the back after you have sewn all your squares together. I am making one for my king bed and i am doing 21 rows across and 21 rows down. It has 441 squares in total. I have been working on mine since the first of the year and i have enjoyed doing it. It has been a real test of my patience but it has been enjoyable. I hope i will have it finished by winter! keep on enjoying what you do. I love your up attitude!
I'm so glad you are using that method it gives such a better look in my opinion.
I fell in love with you when I saw your no sew wreath and Christmas stocking. You have inspired me to learn to sew. Santa must have thought I was a good girl and received a sewing machine. I have been making face masks since Christmas and believe I want to try a scrap quilt!!!! I figure I've nothing to lose but scraps. Thank you for inspiring to at least try!!! You're fabulous and I adore you and your channel ❤
I'm so freaking happy to gear this. I got my sewing machine for the holiday the end of 2018. I hope you love quilting as much as I do. Keep me updated on your journey.
Thank you thank you. I am wrestling with my third row of a puff quilt and its just like you said it doesn't line up seams aren't all the same. I like your suggestion so much better it makes sense especially the do the whole quilt first and add your backing just don't turn inside out. Going to finish it just like you said. It sounds so much easier as I was ready to stop making my puff quilt out of frustration.
I am so glad that this helped. I rember being so frustrated trying to wrangle the quilt. I think you will like your puffs better too.
Just started watching your video.and this Puff quilt sounds so much easier to make your way. Thank you❤
I'm going to do a tutorial just to show people because the other way is too much work. Thanks for getting it.
Thank you! I knew there had to be a way to make this quilt that didn't entail sewing all those puffy squares together. I'll be trying this now, using your suggestion.
I'm glad you found it. It gets too hard to sew any other way.
I love all your creations! The colours you choose are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for checking me out and leaving such a kind comment.
Maybe sew thin strips seam binding onto the minky fabric edge then ruffle it
I need to really work on my ruffling
What a beautiful quilt!! TFS
Thanks for watching

Beautiful quilt…love your channel!
Lisa thank you so much. I'm really excited about things to come
Thank you for your fantastic tips! I am trying something a little different after cutting the slit and stuffing the little puff. I have applied a generous piece of Marti Michell's non-woven fusible tape over the slit, covered the puff with a press cloth and used a medium hot steam iron to secure the tape in position. Since the tape is dry cleanable as well as washable it should hold the little slit secure. What would your recommendation be to this suggestion?
I think this is genius I love this idea. I think it will work well. Go You! Thank you so much for leaving this comment
Thanks so much for your video! I have just cut all my squares for a puff quilt along and came upon this video. I am very curious about your alternate method and would LOVE to see a video demonstrating it. Do you know if you’ll be posting one anytime soon? 😊
It is coming but not until next month which is ridiculous I know. I should bump it up because I swear if you try to stuff these and sew them together it will not be a pleasant experience.
@@MACoutureCrafting No worries! Completely understand! But just to make sure I’m understanding…you are saying to cut a slit in the back of each puff (on the scrap fabric piece), stuffing it, and slip stitching it closed?
@@karencurrie8468 exactly. It will be a lovely sewing experience.
Thank you thank you thank you! I’m starting one now and will do the stuff at the end method - I was worried as to how to sew the puffy squares into rows and the puffy rows together bc sounds so bulky for the machine! 😻
I've done it both ways and I like this one better for me. I hope that this works for you too.
I would love to see you do one with filling it at the end. Please do a tutorial like that.
Literally doing it right this second
@@MACoutureCrafting I think your my new best friend. I’m a elderly quilter and would love to make one of these for great grandchildren. Thank you so much.
@@annablock8037 well hello new best friend. I can't wait to get this done soon. It's going to accompany another quilt. Hope you will like it.
Very nice job. I think I am going to try making one using your suggestion and see how it comes out.
I think you will love it.
The colour that you choose are marvellous and bring joy to my heart! I did 2 quilt like you said plus will half a circle paddles all around! It was a battle to don’t say a war. I succeeded but after I said no more. But now I think that I will be doing an other one but with your trick and not the old technique!! What is the mesure of the top square and the bottom square???
I can't remember the measurements right now but I know I shared the measurements in this video.

Beautiful quilt! Girl you up here making bubble quilts, meanwhile I'm to afraid to cut into my "good " fabric. I keep making practice block but can't seem to get it right.
Don't fret just go for it. It will come out great.
Also the tips you give a truly helpful
I'm glad that they were helpful I am going to do another video showing what I learned.
Excellent tip🥰 thank you 😊
You got it
Yep your mom is wrong lol this is almost identical to the quilt I plan on making for my son due in March, rainbows are for everyone ♥️
You get me. Thank you
You are so talented!!!! This a adorable 🥰
Thank you
Thank you for the tutorial! I love your bow :D
I am so glad you liked it. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Love it! Thanks for the tutorial!
You got it!. Thanks for commenting
Thanks!
thank you so much for supporting the channel
Ruffling- take some thread and zigzag over the thread the length, pull thread you zigzag over and you get even ruffles
Great tip
Love your video. Thank you so much. I am a little unclear on how to fill the puffs last. Do you slit the back of each puff? Thanks for any clarification. Again, thank you.
Yes. Slit the back and hand sew it closed. I'm going to do a new video and actually show the best technique because doing this way was a struggle.
Thank you so much fir your reply. I’ll be watching for the video😉
I thank u!
You're welcome!
I've seen a easier way where you sew a quilt top together then just pleat the top attach your backer sew up 2 rows at a time stuff sew it closed then stuff next row and repeat it is on a UA-cam video from the sewing channel I think
Oooh I need to look into that
I'm sorry I'm a little confused, you say you would not stuff it till its all sewn but then how do you stuff it with all.sides sewn? Do.you cut the back of the puff?
You got it exactly ..I'm going to do another video actually showing the technique soon.
Do you have another video to show how you would have done it? I’m a visual learner. Enjoyed this tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
I am a visual learner too here you go. ua-cam.com/video/_oF--odFfko/v-deo.html
How much material of each color did you buy? I’m wanting to make a baby puff quilt for my grandson who is due in December. What would be the best size to make?
I bought a lot of fabric because I did three quilts that all matched but for a baby quilt I would do 9x10 or 9x9 quilt if I wanted a square. I like bigger squares so maybe 6 by 6 finished squares. It all depends on how many colors you want too. Don't forget the colors for the back will not be seen.
@@MACoutureCrafting if I bought a fat quarter that is 18 x 21, how many 5x5 squares would I get?
@@collettegay1432 I believe you would get three across and 4 up so 12.
Beginners....start with 10" squares, cut down the middle and across. Result, 4 equal squares. It eliminates fabric math.
Do you plan to do a craft room tour?
I will at some point if we ever move.
So how would you make that bubbly quilt 😂
The same way but instead I'd sew all the edges together put the back on too then stuff it then flip it.
I have been making these for 35 years it is ridiculously easy to make the squares and sewn on three sides stuff them and sew the last side up. If it is too hard and you have to CUT a slit in your project, you must be doing it wrong!!!! Sorry to disagree but I have made so many and we call them puff quilts. Just giving my educated opinion. From someone who has done it.
So many different ways to do so many things. I've found your way to be too heavy for me which could be for a myriad of reasons. I've tried a few different ways and this one is my preferred way of completing this type of quilt. I love that I'm able to offer an alternative for people who need one. I'm glad that you found your preferred way that works so well for you. I hope to be able to say I've been quilting for 35 years one day.
Stitch it all up and then stuff it doesn’t make any sense. Unless I will be seeing you do this on camera.
I can understand that. There is another video where I demonstrate my preferred technique. I should link it to this video for someone to find it if they are interested in the technique.
@@MACoutureCrafting yes, please, I would like that.
