I have deeply enjoyed your research and understanding of the Gospel? A truly faithful man seeking to share his understanding of the Gospel. Beautiful!!! I love you Brother!!!
Thank you, brother. I really enjoy watching this channel. I truly appreciate the information you provide and the time you spend preparing these presentations. You often clarify topics that I have not been clear on and I greatly appreciate your insight.
I've enjoyed learning about this Doctrine and truths from you. I'm so grateful that the Priesthood is restored for all races and that the more worthy Priesthood holders that we have in our midst is definitely better for our women, children and the Worldly affairs, in the Latter Days.
Able will be allowed children in the Millennium as many others whom have come here and left. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland stated along these lines in his Conference talk, April of 2020, I believe. ❤ Which gives much hope to us parents who have a child taken from us too soon, knowing what their patriarchal blessing states.
You asked, “what are you going to do?” The question in my mind is, “what can you do?”…knowing something, believing something, etc makes no difference with respect to the church as a whole or current leadership…all I can see to be done is follow the teachings of the scriptures and prophets (both dead and living), and pray for direct knowledge or understanding…then live within this fallen environment to the best of your ability and understanding.
You are correct-those who feel violently towards a person who is merely enunciating a doctrine or principle should consider what Joseph Smith taught: "I advise all of you to be careful what you do, or you may by-and-by find out that you have been deceived. Stay yourselves; do not give way; don't make any hasty moves, you may be saved. *If a spirit of bitterness is in you, don't be in haste.* You may say, that man is a sinner. Well, if he repents, he shall be forgiven. Be cautious: await. *When you find a spirit that wants bloodshed-murder, the same is not of God, but is of the devil.* Out of the abundance of the heart of man the mouth speaketh." (TPJS 358) This kind of spirit is eroding the freedom of speech of America.
One of the best modern treatises on whether the Curse of Cain doctrine was first taught in Nauvoo or Utah is available in the independent magazine One Eternal Round issue #15, "New Light on the Origin of the Priesthood Ban". It also addresses questions of why certain individuals of African descent were ordained in Joseph Smith's lifetime and why this was not perceived as contradictory to the doctrine. An overview of the historical issues discussed therein is available here (link to the actual pamphlet in the description): ua-cam.com/video/5JPBdCEa3mw/v-deo.html
@@TeachingsoftheProphetJoseph John Taylor's assessment was that Elijah Abel and other individuals received things before the doctrine was fully understood. It seems that Elijah Abel was allowed to retain his office but had his preaching activity limited to his own people as per the instruction of the Apostles in 1843. This seems to be the most accurate view which explains Zebedee Coltrin's testimony in this regard. Joseph certainly seems to have had things revealed to his mind by the early 1830s and especially during the translation of the Book of Abraham, but I think he progressed in his understanding over time as God revealed more to him. This issue was never Joseph's overriding focus as he viewed all peoples with charity (which the scriptures teach), so I think it took time for him to come to the point where God wanted him to more fully understand certain things.
Thank you very much for the feedback about the microphone. We were having difficulty with our microphone and tried another one for this presentation. We will work on that!

I believe Joseph and Brigham are absolutely correct. I've not had any problems accepting their teachings so who is questioning their teachings? The Negros or just people in general? I believe exactly what the Church teaches. I don't question the First Presidency or the Prophet. If the Prophet were to lead us away the Prophet would be taken... I'm striving to follow the commandments. I believe in the Holy Spirit who will witness the truth... The Prophet Pres Kimball received Revelation that ALL worthy men may hold the Priesthood. I believe this...

So the question I have is this… could the curse of Cain be different than the curse of Canaan? When Ham “uncovered His father’s nakedness” it could be interpreted that he lay with the wife of Noah. Thus, trying to impregnate her and insert his seed into the Priesthood line. Canaan’s curse doesn’t mention race at all. We assume he is the son of Ham & Egyptus, but it doesn’t say that. His curse is that he will be a “servant among servants”. So could there be two different cursed lines going on here?
We answered this question in this video. Also, from Conference Report Excerpts, JD 7:290 The prophet Brigham Young taught “Cain slew his brother and God put a mark on him of a flat nose and a black skin. After the flood another curse is pronounced on the same race, that they would be a servant of servants…”
I watched this thoroughly and am still a bit puzzled. Are you implying that the OD#2 was force by the govt and thus the church has lost its priesthood power? I am trying to truly understand. Thank you
Yes that is what he is implying. what you need to ask yourself is if this guy is a reliable teacher. He is teaching fundamentalist doctrine. Contrary to the LDS Church doctrine.
It’s really quite simple. Article of Faith 9, …”He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.” We follow the CURRENT prophet of God, and all the rest is just interesting to study. It may or may not be of worth depending on whether we repent and are faithful. No need to get anywhere near this far into the bushes. But I did enjoy the video.
Yes, this is what the Article by Ronald Esplin (that Brother Murphy mentions in this video) supports Ronald Esplin's article: scholarsarchive.byu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1995&context=byusq here is the link for Lester Bush article which is on the other side of the issue: www.dialoguejournal.com/wp-content/uploads/sbi/articles/Dialogue_V08N01_13.pdf
So if the Church was swayed by our government concerning Blacks and Priesthood where do we go from here?? I have a friend that found she had a little black in her she and her fiance waited 5 years to be married in Temple they now have grown sons who go Temple so if I am understanding son has not priesthood. I can see God's law does not bend down to humans. My friend and her husband have been more righteous than I ever hope to be. The question I do not want to ask is if leaders of church bowed down to human law whom do we follow??
Follow Jesus Christ. Do not heed the words of the arm of flesh. Even some leaders are the arm of flesh. Even false teachers are arm of flesh. By their fruits ye shall know them. Leaders of the Church did not bow down to human law. They became obedient to God's laws. Consider for a moment that Joseph Smith ordained black men to the Priesthood. It was Brigham Young who started the ban on priesthood for the blacks. He was pro slavery. There should have never been a ban. Brigham created the Ban, not the Joseph Smith, Prophet of the restoration. It took only a few short years following Brigham's death for the Church leaders to reverse BRIGHAM'S doctrine on blood atonement. A little bit longer for God to get leaders to reverse BRIGHAM'S doctrine of many wives and concubines; 1990 manifesto. A few years more to reverse the Adam/God theory, also BRIGHAM'S doctrine. Then at long last, it took 130 years to reverse BRIGHAM'S priesthood ban in 1978. When we as human beings know better from God, we do better. The Church wasn't swayed by government. They were swayed by God. They followed the influence of The Holy Ghost. There never should have been a priesthood ban.
We get the gift of the Holy Ghost which reveals all truth Moroni 10:5 and we follow the mortal example of Jesus Christ & those that precisely followed him and his teachings, like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.
Does this mean that The Church, at this time, has no priesthood power? Or was it restored a few years ago when the Brethren issued "The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ"? I choose Truth. It's strange, but I'm a convert from June 1979. I always maintained that the Lord didn't bring the Church to my attention before then because of how I felt about black people. I wouldn't have joined before then because I believed in equality for the black man. Now, big sigh, I find out that that premise is wrong. I guess it's a good thing that He waited 45 years before showing me the Truth. I am not fazed. I choose God. I choose Truth. I trust in God (Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit) and know that They will not lead me astray.
Why post today? The 8th day of Hanukah? Joseph Smith was born on the 8th day of Hanukah in 1805…and none having done more for the salvation of mankind excepting only the Savior, than Joseph. Did you know it was the 8th day today? A rare occurrence when Hanukah coincides with Christmas…and lasts til the new year.
This is a tsunami. When the brethren say they can have the priesthood now, they are wrong. Wow what a thing to weigh!?? There are members in the family that have married the seed of Cain?? Wow, wow, wow!!!

@@TeachingsoftheProphetJoseph Is it written anywhere that any of Cain's progeny did survive the flood though? I think the idea that some modern people are descended from Cain is speculation and not based on any scripture.
Bruce Porter gives a great talk on this subject & explains why Cain's descendants were denied the Priesthood for so long. I think the title is "Cain, Abel and the Priesthood." Pres. Kimball's reception of that revelation was timed perfectly! Eldred Smith was a direct descendant of Jos. Smith Sr. & was Patriarch of the Church for a time. Around the time of his death or release from that position, the revelation was given to Pres. Kimball. The Lord is at the helm.❤ Thankyou for this. It was very helpful for me to understand this concept better.❤❤❤
Like many of Brigham's so-called controversial teachings, I think Brigham learned something from Joseph Smith, and then poorly connected it to scripture and ran with an interpretation that wasn't what was intended, though I think he struck closer than most people think. I can accept some of the argumentation that Joseph initiated the teachings that surround the "ban", but that doesn't square all that well with him and others ordaining men to the Priesthood who had a good deal more than "one-drop" of Sub-Saharan African in their blood. I think Brigham mingled knowledge that there was a lineage on the earth that were restricted from ordination to the Priesthood by virtue of being descendants of Cain through Egyptus and Canaan with the prevailing notion of that day that Sub-Saharan African peoples were Ham's descendants. One of those is true, the other is not, one of man's origin and the other from scripture. I have an idea of what that lineage happens to be, but the answer, as much as I can deduce from scripture and other more obscure things, is so profoundly mind-blowingly wild, that I only ever venture it in places where its presence is temporary. Study the line of Priesthood succession carefully, and eventually you'll figure it out too, it is not what anybody would expect.
